PoliticsRe: Nigeria @ 65 Years Of Nationhood; Hope Or Despair? by Racoon(op): 4:42am On Oct 01, 2025
When we were young in the 1980-90s we are always enthusiastic in going for October 1st independence day parade @TBS and Liberty/Adamasingba Stadiums back then. However, fast forwarded today, one is increasingly finding it difficult to believe in the pan-nationalism that once filled our hearts because of the worsening abysmal state of this nation.

JAPA or not, Nigeria has to work for the benefits of it collective citizens or an outright dissolution is advised. Imagine the scary insecurity plaguing a sovereign nation with terrorists opening holding meeting with full cache of arms and ammunition in tow.
PoliticsNigeria @ 65 Years Of Nationhood; Hope Or Despair? by Racoon(op): 4:35am On Oct 01, 2025
The advent of the independence of Nigeria from Britain on the 1st of October, 1960 came with much enthusiasm and there is a high anticipation of a budding nation with great potentials to became a great nation. Now, sixty five years down the road, where does Nigeria stand?

What do we have today? A nation with disillusioned citizens. Dashed hopes of an uncertain future being plagued by bad leadership, worsening institutional corruption, economic stagnation, deteriorating insecurity and healthcare facilities, gross unemployment and poor educational system among many ills. So, the question is whither Nigeria?

This was vividly captured in a song by the legendary pan-Nigerian musical icon – Sunny Okosun in his “WHICH WAY NIGERIA?” BY LATE SONNY OKOSUN( 1 JANUARY 1947 – 24 MAY 2008 )

There is religious persecution in Nigeria!!!
Jihadists are on annihilation conquest in the middle belt and Southern Nigeria. Obadiah Mailafia once said but he died mysteriously. Retired colonel Stan Lambo once said the same thing.

Reality can not and can never be denied. You know some people would want to continually believe in a lie so as not to get their illusion destroyed. Karma does not forgives or forgets.

PoliticsRe: Emir Of Tsaragi Orders Arrest Of Leader Of Youths Protesting Against Rising Kill by Racoon(m):
The protesters demanded that Fulani settlers vacate Tsaragi land and urged the Etsu to convey their grievances to Governor whom they accused of failing to protect communities in Kwara North.
Anytime I see fulanis wrecking havoc in Kwara state I remember the then APC chair - Yakubu Baraje from same Kwara state saying "the APC brought foreign Fulanis to help then win the 2015 presidential election." Now the chicken are truly home to roost.

A joke taken too far, Gov Sani met a big mess on ground created by Elrufai. Kaduna had nothing in the treasury, Elrufai had mortgaged the state to the tune of 350 billion naira debt....
You know you guys are always warped in reasoning perhaps due to retrograde amnesia or overt self delusion. Uba Sani was involved in all the alleged financial indebtedness El-Rufai incurred on Kaduna state. So he is culpable. Same way Tinubu has a hand in Buhari's rudderless impactless and directionless govt.

Foreign AffairsRe: "Tinubu Intelligent, Strategic As Trump" Ex - NIIA DG by Racoon(op): 11:31am On Sep 30, 2025
For your information, Donald Trump is putting America first while Tinubu is abandoning Nigeria in the heat of bedeviling self-inflicting national problems including insecurity, abject poverty and abysmal developmental indices.

Does a strategic-thinking leader like Donald Trump leaves his country in the lurch to go seek healthcare in France as Tinubu does?
that? What a shame!

Trump is fulfilling everything he promised Americans during his campaigns. While Tinubu is doing the opposite. So tell us how is Tinubu comparable to Donald Trump?

Compare with Nigeria under Tinubu. Naira is worst, insecurity increased. Before Trump America had more than thousands of illegal immigrants trooping in through the southern border, Today is down to zero..
Foreign AffairsRe: "Tinubu Intelligent, Strategic As Trump" Ex - NIIA DG by Racoon(op):
cheesy Hehehe! Comparing Tinubu disastrous govt with a jerky Donald Trump's regime in the US is an insult and embarrassment of monumental proportion. Perhaps this one thinks being itchy, jerky and nervy under the influence means political sagacity.

A former Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Prof. Bola Akinterinwa, has said President Bola Tinubu is as intelligent, cautious, and strategic as U.S. president Donald Trump, despite his absence from this year’s United Nations General Assembly.

Speaking on Channels Television on Friday, Akinterinwa argued that Tinubu’s decision not to attend should not be mistaken for weakness or lack of capacity on the global stage.

“At the end of the day, when you are seen to be at par with your colleagues, in which way are you going to say that Donald Trump is better than Bola Tinubu of Nigeria? He’s not. And I can tell you that Tinubu is as intelligent, if not more intelligent than Trump. He is more cautious and more strategic in his approach,” he said.

The former NIIA boss explained that in international relations, hierarchy shapes interactions among leaders, stressing that protocol often dictates who engages with whom at such forums.

“In diplomacy, water must always find its own level. When you are not the president of a sovereign state, the extent to which you can meet with sovereign leaders is limited. A vice president going there cannot easily interact with people who are senior to him,” he noted.

He further suggested that global politics, particularly U.S. attitudes, could also play a role. Citing Trump as an example, Akinterinwa described him as unpredictable and dismissive of countries pursuing independent foreign policies.

“Donald Trump thinks after action, not before action. He is a president that can thoroughly embarrass our own president, finding unnecessary excuses. Because Nigeria appears to be charting an independent line in international affairs, Trump doesn’t like this. He wants to be seen as primus inter pares in global politics,” he added.

Tinubu attended the 78th UNGA in 2023, in New York, delivering Nigeria’s national statement. He did not attend the 79th UNGA in 2024; instead, Vice President Kashim Shettima represented him and delivered the national statement. Shettima also represented him at this year’s edition, the 80th UNGA.

STATES CREATED BY MILITARY HEADS OF STATE IN NIGERIA(Who created your state ?)

-1). General Yakubu Gowon (1966–1975)
Created 12 states from the original 4 regions on May 27, 1967.

-North-Western
-North-Eastern; Kano
-North-Central; Benue-Plateau, Kwara
-Western; Lagos
-Mid-Western
-East-Central; Rivers
-South-Eastern

-2). General Murtala Mohammed (1975–1976). He created 7 states on February 3, 1976 thereby increasing Nigerian states to a total of 19 states namely;
-Bauchi
-Benue
-Borno
-Imo
-Niger
-Ogun
-Ondo.

-3). General Ibrahim Babangida (1985–1993)
Created 11 states in two batches
a). September 23, 1987:
Akwa Ibom, Katsina
b). August 27, 1991: Abia, Enugu, Delta, Jigawa, Kebbi, Osun, Kogi, Taraba, Yobe

Thus Nigeria was stretched to became a total of 30 states.

-4). General Sani Abacha (1993–1998). Created 6 states on October 1, 1996, thereby bringing Nigeria to 36 states that we have today namely;

This is really getting serious with these terrorists inching closer and closer. Meanwhile, the Ilorin issue has gone over from slave masters invasion to terrorism.

Meanwhile Yakubu Baraje from Kwara state is still keeping quiet after saying the APC brought in foreign Fulanis to help them win the 2015 presidential election.
