Politics › My Findings In Peru on Drug Allegation Against Peter Obi - Omokri by Racoon(op): 9:10pm On May 21 |
"What I found after travelling to Peru to verify drug baron allegation against Peter Obi" - OmokriNigeria’s ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has revealed details of his trip to Peru to investigate allegations linking Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, to drug trafficking.
Omokri made the disclosure in a statement shared on X on Wednesday while responding to allegations made by former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo that Obi was involved in drug trafficking activities linked to a woman imprisoned in Peru.
According to him, his findings showed that the allegations against Obi were false after he visited a women’s prison in Lima and met with authorities in Peru during the investigation.
He explained that the trip to Peru came shortly after he travelled to the United States in September 2022 to verify the academic records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Chicago State University.
Omokri stated that, despite the findings being against his political interests at the time, he publicly released videos, documents and statements confirming that Tinubu attended and graduated from the institution.
He added that after concluding his investigation in Chicago, he proceeded to Peru to probe allegations that Obi sponsored a female drug courier who was later arrested and allegedly implicated him during trial proceedings.
According to him, he visited the prison facility in Lima with a witness and also interacted with authorities in the South American country while carrying out the investigation. Omokri further stated that he later contacted Dokubo and advised him to stop repeating the allegations because there was no evidence to support them.
He also urged political actors ahead of the 2027 election to avoid recycling claims he said had already been debunked. Omokri maintained that he personally funded the investigations out of what he described as patriotism and commitment to justice.
The statement partly reads, “I proceeded to Peru to investigate this claim you just made against Peter Obi. I went to the women’s prison in Lima, Peru, with a witness who is still alive and a video camera. I also visited authorities in that country, and confirmed that the story that Peter Obi is a drug baron who sponsored a female drug mule to Peru, and that the girl was arrested, tried, and implicated him during her trial is false. I also granted an interview to Arise TV right from Cusco, Peru. This was on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
“I thereafter called you on the phone and told you not to make the allegation anymore, because it was not true, and it is morally wrong to accuse a man of a crime he is innocent of. You may recall that you agreed with me.
“As we approach the 2027 election, please can we all refrain from recycling these allegations, which I have already debunked. I spent my money and time to establish the facts. Nobody gave me a dime. I did this because of patriotism and commitment to justice, even when it is against my political interests. So it is rather disconcerting to see these allegations being recycled.” https://tribuneonlineng.com/what-i-found-after-travelling-to-peru-to-verify-drug-baron-allegation-against-peter-obi-omokri/?fbclid=Iwb21leAR8QrRjbGNrBHxCXWV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHumhzOIhoItrh18YFRaOMCK-KNQ8NUkzgvLibaYQMpTpo2ciHC1j7GAhW3s9_aem_YWdncwDIeyozPM0tSCUORLAoTGGS&brid=YWdncwH25BMznd8DT6mjOyOtzNQI

It is increasingly difficult for foreign doctors to japa to UK with these unsavoury developments. So why would the UK be allowing so many foreign medical doctors to write & pass these expensive exams when there are limited space for them? |
Career › GMC Introduced Changes To PLAB-1 Examination In 2027 by Racoon(op): 2:20pm On May 21 |
We’re making some changes to how we'll deliver PLAB 1 in 2027. Find out more about these changes and get answers to any questions you may have. The key changes in 2027 are:
Dhaka, Alexandria, Accra and Chennai will no longer run the exam. The February exam will not take place in international locations. UK and EU locations will continue to be available in February. Why Are You Making These Changes? We’re making these changes in 2027 because international demand for PLAB 1 has started to reduce after a period of significant growth.
We regularly review how and where we deliver PLAB 1 and adjust the number of places and locations in response to candidate demand.
How Have You Decided Which Locations to Remove? We regularly assess demand across all locations using booking trends and data. We've removed locations where demand is no longer high enough to support delivery.
We’re confident that the locations we offer reflect demand and provide an appropriate geographical spread for candidates.
Where Can I Take The PLAB-1 Exam If My Preferred Location Has Been Removed? You can book a place at alternative locations in the UK, EU and available international centres. You can find the available options in the PLAB booking system in GMC Online.
Why Are International Locations Not Running in February 2027? We plan exam delivery across the year based on demand in different locations. As international demand has reduced, we have consolidated international delivery into fewer sittings.
Our analysis showed that no international test date was significantly more popular than the others. By not running international locations in February 2027, we can concentrate demand across the remaining sittings. This helps us maintain a viable number of locations and a good geographical spread for candidates.
Demand remains strong in UK and EU locations, so we’ll continue to offer places there in all sittings.
What Should I Do if Planned To Sit PLAB 1 At An International Location In February 2027? You can book a place for the February 2027 sitting at locations in the UK or EU. Alternatively, you can book your preferred international location for any other PLAB 1 sitting within your English language validity period.
You can find what's available to you in the PLAB booking system in GMC Online. Where necessary, we'll also offer flexibility, for example where English language evidence may otherwise expire.
I Can No Longer Sit PLAB 1 In February 2027 Internationally, Will You Extend My English Language Evidence?
If your English language evidence expires before 31 May 2027 and you had planned to sit PLAB 1 in February 2027, we recommend that you sit in August or November 2026 at your preferred international location. Alternatively, you can book the February 2027 sitting in a UK or EU location.
If you’re affected by the removal of international places in February, we may be able to extend the validity of your English language evidence so you can sit the May 2027 PLAB 1 test.
If your English language evidence expires between 1 February and 31 May 2027, email us at plab@gmc-uk.org to discuss an extension.
You must request an English language extension by 19 March 2027 to sit in May 2027. This is so we have time to process your request.
Will There Be Enough PLAB 1 Places For Everyone Who Wants To Take It Next Year? We're confident that we are offering enough places to meet demand. We'll continue to monitor booking levels and respond to changes in demand as required, including adjusting the number of places across sittings and locations where possible.
Will You Reduce The Number Of Places Again In 2028? We'll continue to monitor demand and review the number of PLAB 1 places and locations we offer each year. Any decisions for 2028 will be based on the demand we see, to support candidate access.
The General Medical Council We work with doctors, physician associates, anaesthesia associates, those they care for and other stakeholders to support good, safe patient care across the UK. https://www.gmc-uk.org/registration-and-licensing/join-our-registers/plab/changes-to-plab-1-in-2027

80% of Nigerians feel less safe today than five years ago.More striking, however, is that about 60% of individuals who voted for President Tinubu in the 2023 election also report feeling less secure since he assumed office. Where is Seyi Law? Where are the Tinubu die-hard zombies? This nation has gone more worst down the abyss of insecurity, hunger, economic retrogression, among many facets of our national life. All the failed govt is obsessed with is politics of sharing peanuts and defections. The decision lies in the hands of you citizens including the disappointed Tinubu supporters. |
