Another thing I noticed, it is so sad that we don't have enough CT scan/ MRI scan in some states in Nigeria. Someone will have a stroke and need a brain image and have to travel to another state. It is heartbreaking, many government don't prioritize stroke centers and imaging.

Meanwhile the useless leadership in this nation all jet out abroad @the slightest health challenge to access these same CT and MRI facilities leaving the common man to die in the consulting clinics in our teaching hospitals. Imagine many of them not having functional CT or MRI machines

Young adults of this generation take many risk especially drug/substance abuse that tends to predisposes them to big risk of having stroke or diabetic complications while thinking they are enjoying life.

I have been seeing a lot of young people (below 50) with strokes in the Brain.This is what I discovered.If you are below 50, Don't skip this. PLEASE READ!

Majority of the young people didn't even know they had High Blood pressure. Some that knew they had high blood pressure, they thought I am young , it has gone and stopped their meds.

Another thing i noticed, DIABETES. Many people still don't know their Blood sugar.
Diabetes still remains a big risk for Stroke But how many people know their blood sugar and fat levels? Alarming!!!

One stressful fateful day, perhaps after working, A little headache or not. Boom! They could not lift a side of their body rushed to the hospital. We imaged their brain and found a Bleed or area of brain death (Ischemia).

Some people still don't know that if you have a Family history of a stroke. It is a risk factor. You're a black man and that's an added risk already.
Something we young folks need to watch out.

Alcohol, Cigarettes smoking and in some people substances. A lot of us young people still see these things are big flex but I've seen too many strokes to tell you, It isn't the Flex. A stroke reduces your functionality in a way.

Another thing I noticed with us Younger folks, We don't even know how to recognize a stroke. Use of words like "partial stroke " have made people not see stroke as an Emergency. Nothing is partial. Some still go to pharmacies, churches, etc

You have to understand. The Brain is a very delicate organ. Once blood supply is cut from it. In a matter of minutes it dies. Getting to a hospital on time, allow a huge portion of the brain to be salvage. Not a time for prayers or chatGpt. If the brain dies, it is irreversible.

How you reduce your incidence of a stroke? Know these symptoms and save your health;
-Eat Healthy
-Check your BP and act accordingly.
-Take your BP and sugar medications regularly.
-Cut down on alcohol consumption and completely stop smoking
-Go for routine health assessment tests and checkups
-Avoid sedentary lifestyles. Move around and exercise
-Know and keep abreast of all the earlier listed RED FLAGS!!!

I do hope more young people can read and share this piece. I am tired of seeing multiple strokes and the cycle continues. Time is Brain. Brain is Time.We can save more people. Please share. You'd be saving a life.

Police Probe Alleged Baby Theft in Lagos Hospital

The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday said it had commenced an investigation into the alleged disappearance of a newborn at a private hospital in the Ikotun area of the state.

The command, reacting to a viral video of a woman accusing medical staff of withholding one of her twins after delivery, said the matter was being handled with relevant stakeholders.

A statement by its spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, and obtained by PUNCH Metro read, “The Command is aware of the trending video and wishes to inform the public that the matter is currently under investigation.

“Relevant professional bodies and associations have been contacted and are working in synergy with the Police to get to the root of the situation.”


It added that the Area Commander, Area M, was personally overseeing the case, assuring that findings would be made public.

“The outcome of the investigation will be made public in due course. Members of the public are hereby urged to remain calm, as the situation is under control,” the statement added.

The incident sparked tension after a viral video showed a woman, identified as Blessing Isioma David, accusing staff of Tip-Top Solution Hospital of withholding her second baby after delivery.


In the footage shared by AsakyGRN on X, the woman seen holding a newborn—was filmed shouting at a supposed doctor of the facility identified as Tip-Top Solution hospital while demanding the whereabouts of her second baby.

“Produce my second baby. This is not good enough. I did not come to this hospital to be robbed of my baby,” she was heard screaming in the video. In the background, individuals who accompanied her were also heard demanding the arrest of hospital staff over allegations of baby trafficking.

The video also displayed an obstetric scan report said to belong to the patient, identified as Blessing Isioma David, 28, dated March 2026, which indicated a twin pregnancy with two foetuses observed.

The report stated, “Twin visible. Twin 1 is an oblique cephalic while Twin 2 is a transverse presentation. Normal cardiac pulsations noted,” adding that “Gender for Twin 1 is XY, while Gender for Twin 2 is XX.”

Reacting to the allegation, the hospital’s medical director, Sunday Babajide, dismissed claims of wrongdoing, insisting that only one baby was delivered and that the scan result was inaccurate.

“The scan was wrong, and she did not do another scan in another centre. It was an error; the scan said two instead of one.

We invited the husband to the theatre… the husband witnessed that it was one. The woman herself was not asleep; she was awake,” Babajide was quoted as saying to the Peoples Gazette.The hospital director added that the family was also informed immediately after birth.

Corroborating his claim on the scan, Babajide asserted, “If the scan was done at the early stage… it will clearly show it. But if the scan was done at a later period, an error can occur,” he said, noting that the scan was done at about 20 weeks.

“The mistake we made was that we should have insisted on her doing another scan elsewhere to be doubly sure,” he added.

PUNCH Metro reported in July 2023 that a woman, Modinat Faniyi, was arraigned before the Yaba Magistrates’ Court for allegedly attempting to steal a newborn baby in a Muslim hospital in the Ijaiye, Ojokoro area of the state.
