It is going to be a difficult one for Nigeria giving the head-to-head form of both teams in recent times.

The complacent virus have also bugged our football -the only thing that unite this nation despite all that is simmering down.

Imagine Nigeria has been so reduced that it have to play continental & inter-continental playoffs to qualify for the world cup. Too bad!
SportsNigeria Vs Gabon: Super Eagles’ Last Chance At 2026 WC Via Playoffs by Racoon(op): 1:51pm On Nov 13, 2025
There was a time Nigerians completely wrote off the national team’s chances of playing at the 2026 World Cup. The qualifying campaign was topsy-turvy. But a late push saw the Super Eagles beat favourites, Benin Republic to the second spot in Group C on the last day.

This means Eric Chelle’s men made it to the African playoffs as one of the best runners-up. On Thursday, they play Gabon in the first semi-final, while Cameroon face DR Congo in the second semi-final.

By Sunday, we will know which African country will progress to the FIFA intercontinental playoff tournament in March, which is the final hurdle for qualification into the World Cup 2026 in North America.

The Super Eagles’ preparation for the playoffs have been far from ideal. With 48 hours before the match, the players and officials were locked in standoff with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, over unpaid bonuses and refused to train.

The issue was eventually sorted out yesterday. And you have to wonder if Chelle has had enough time to drill his squad and solidify his tactical plan for the tricky Panthers.

Nigeria were absent at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. And with nine slots handed to Africa this time around, you expected them to make a return to the tournament.

Last time, they lost the second leg of their playoff to Ghana on home turf. This time around, in Rabat, they have to see off two rivals from the continents to even move to the next stage of qualification.

The overt arrogance, impunity rascality and lawlessness of the likes of Nyesom Wike under the balablu govt is a catalyst that can light a fuse. They need to be more civil in approach. Wike could have contacted the seating CNS or CDS to clarify and resolve this issue.

It is surprising how this well laid out town became the nauseating eyesore it is today. Go to 21 road till 1st Avenue. So, is it population expansion pressure or failure of the usual institutional maintainance culture as is the practice?

This place is a FHA. Hence before an additional structure is added or distortion done therein within the property can't happen without govt permission.

Who would have ever believed the below were the early pictures of the popular Festac Town of Amuwo Odofin LGA of Lagos in the beginning.

Most of these buildings were built in the early 1970s specially by the general Yakubu Gowon government for the then Festival of Black Arts and Culture - Festac 1977

NOTE; Which or Avenue can you recall from each picture?

“It’s not up to a week now that we paid seven million naira levies to the bandits as part of a peace deal. Anybody who doesn’t want to pay will have to leave the community. And this is what we have been doing for three years now...

Payment of these levies has become unavoidable for us if we must reside in the community. They come to the community heavily armed, sometimes at night, and spend hours with the village head. They don’t leave until money is given to them.”

There is no way we can defeat the terrorists. While serving, my wife was abducted, and we paid ransom for her release...We have tried our best, but it has not yielded any results. we
