WARRI—EX-MILITANT leader, Chief Government Ekpumupolo, alias Tompolo, weekend, visited the Warri Central Mosque,Warri, Delta State, to reassure Muslims in the state of safety.

It was learnt that Tompolo, who, earlier, held a meeting with the president of  Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, proceeded to the Warri mosque at 2.30 pm, immediately after the Jum’at prayer.

The visit was to assure Muslims in the Niger-Delta, that there was no plan to carry out a reprisal attack against them because of the killing of Southerners and burning of churches in the Northern part of the country by Boko Haram sect.

Tompolo, who addressed  a congregation of Muslims in Warri, said they have no reason to fear, as nobody was going to hurt them.

A Muslim leader in the state, Sadiq Musa told Vanguard, yesterday: “He (Tompolo) told Muslims that  Christians and Muslims have lived together in the state and that the relationship was more than that of a friend, but that of brothers, and so, Muslims should not leave the state because nobody is going to attack them.”
