Please anyone with similar experience or advice…

My friend that applied at the same time with me just checked the application status tracker and document numbers have been updated since 28th of April but no PPR yet.

Please what should she do? Or should she just wait? she’s resuming this May.

Thanks!

Thanks! @JMG12. We don’t have anyone in Abuja. She has submitted it in Lagos walk in… keeping our fingers crossed

Thanks again.

Hi,

Please I need advice - My sister received passport request last week for her course starting in May - 5th May 2025.
Is there an expedited way to sent her passport and get it back in one week or less?

Thanks

Hi,
Congratulations to all those who received PPR recently.

Any March applicants in the house?

I applied on March 27th and the eligibility review has not started - should I be worried??
Medical passed - April 13

I received NSE request in April too but I ignored it, should I have responded?

Thanks

I'm not an authority figure on the subject matter as I am currently awaiting a decision on my own study visa. Hopefully someone who has been successful in getting their visa as well as for
their children would shed more light.

All the best in your processing.

It will end in Praise
Thank you!

Yes they applied together as a family. While his was for student permit, theirs were for visit visas. Below are the documents I attached:

I am just hearing about this.
Recently, I helped in an application which involved 2 minor children. Their father was for student permit and they and their mother accompanied with visitor visa application and they got their visas. They are scheduled to travel in a few weeks to come. So it is so strange hearing children must apply for study permit even while accompanying parents who are going as students. Perhaps it is a new rule. Let's wait for others to respond too.
@Baphil
I really appreciate your response. Did the children and their mother apply at the same time as the principal applicant- their father/husband?
What other documents did you include to support the kids' application?

Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it.
I guess my question would be how to fill the form - If I select that a family member would accompany me to Canada, then the options are: study or visit

If I choose 'study', then it would request Application for Study Permit form (IMM1294) and Letter of Acceptance.
Or do I choose 'visit', would they be allowed entry to Canada? and get an authorization/exemption letter?

What other evidence do I need to provide with my application?

Thanks!

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I intend to apply for a study permit and travel with my 4-year old daughter who turns 5 in October, my husband is not traveling with us. I got admission to NSCC for a Grad Cert in Event Management.
I read on the IRCC website that a minor applying from outside Canada would need a study permit even though they are accompanying a parent. I also read on this forum that a child was not allowed to board the airplane because the child had a visitor's visa and the mom had a work permit.

"Visa offices processing temporary residence applications made outside Canada by minor children who want to study in Canada should consider them as students and not as visitors, even when they are accompanying a parent who is authorized to either work or study in Canada. In other words, a study permit is required, unless they are exempt from requiring one pursuant to Section R188."

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/guidelines-on-minor-children.html

In filling the forms online, I have to upload a letter of acceptance from the school for my child as well as fill the IMM1294 form - I don't have a letter of acceptance because my friends in Canada told me that the School Board assigns kids to schools close to where they are living and I have not secured accommodation yet.

For those who applied with child(ren), please how did you go about this? I am confused. Please help!
