Can u say amen to seyi becoming the next governor of lagos as that is closer
And go ahead to start campaigning for seyi as next governor of lagos.
This is because it is an immediate task
Seyi is very much qualified to become the Governor of Lagos state, even President of Nigeria if it's will of God. So, what's the issue here?

You are mixing things together

Many Yoruba Obas including Alaafin were princes from Ile ife. Infact some account proof that the present Ife royal families were not related to Oodua. And Alaafin is a proven grand son of Oodua.
And you were not told that Oranmiyan later returned to Ile-Ife to become the 6th Ooni, and he had another children in Ile-Ife who later became part of the ruling houses today?

When many Yoruba Obas still hold allegiance to Alaafin of Oyo. You need to be conversant with this matter

There are plenty Yoruba towns that emanated from Oyo and there very many Yoruba kings that got their crowns from Oyo. All of them till tomorrow are still loyal to Alaafin. Please make your findings.
Which Yoruba oba holds allegiance to Alaafin? More than 70% of Yoruba still holds their Ile-Ife ancestry and reverence Ooni as the supreme head. Apart from Oyo indigenes, less than 5% of Yoruba recognises Alaafin's supremacy claim.
PoliticsRe: Local Production: Rice Mills Collapsing by Raf4: 10:01am On Aug 23, 2025
Local rice millers have failed Nigerians. They got huge grants from both cbn, BoA, BoI and many foreign bodies. Govt also banned the importation of rice etc. Then boooom, rice suddenly becomes unaffordable to people. Local rice with traces of stones and shaff are competing in prices with smuggled/imported well polished and clean foreign rice. Some of them, after collecting govt loans/grants started buying very expensive luxury SUV cars for their executive staff, living large.

Provide the history books you were taught with here and show us what the history taught you. Oyo Rose to power in 14th century and collapsed in 17th century. Owu, Owo, Ijesaland, Ijebuland, ugbo(Ilaje), Idanre are all more ancient than the most ancient Oyo settlement.

There is a reason opa oranmiyan stands proud in Ife today. Who is oranmiyan? The 1st ALaafin of Oyo. The heir to the throne in ife who returned from Benin to find his father the king of ife dead and an ursurper on the throne. As from that point every one on the throne in ife is not a bloodline of Oduduwa.

As for ALaafin, the recent “supremacy”. of the ooni is a recent thing that was artificially created by Awolowo because the then ALaafin refused to support Awolowo’s action group. Prior to that the supremacy of the ALaafin was never in question. So when you say no ALaafin has ever disrespected the Ooni it is because prior to Aderemi, everybody knew the ALaafin was superior and no Ooni acted like he was superior to the ALaafin.

From the time Oranmiyan left Ife to become the 1st ALaafin of Oyo, have you ever heard any historical accounts of any OOni of ife until Adesoji Aderemi? Why suddenly did the ooni become important in the 1950s? Because that was after Awolowo elevated the throne in ife above the ALaafin for political reasons.
Your own history is so flawed. Firstly, Oranmiyan was neither the 1st born nor last born of Oduduwa. Secondly, Alaafin is neither the first born nor last born of Oranmiyan. Even if the Oonis aren't the descendants of Oduduwa as you wrongfully said, they're pure Ife people, If not, Ife people and their Elus/leaders wouldn't have accepted them. Also note that Oduduwa never established Ile-Ife. Several leaders like Oranfe, Agbọnmiregun, Obatala etc had ruled Ile-Ife before the arrival of Oduduwa.
You said there was no known Ooni before Sir Adesoji Aderemi after Oranmiyan? You're joking, right? The likes of Obamakin, Ogun, Obalufon, Ogbogbodirin, Lajemisan, and those who reigned during the colonial era like Derin Ologbenla, Olubuse 1 (that every other Oba including Alaafin vacated their thrones for when he travelled to Lagos), Ademoluyi Ajagun looked like a joke to you?

Are you not surprised that a region that was totally destroyed and her prople deliberately impoverished about 50 years ago during and after the Civil War has risen from the ashes unaided to trail the South West, that was the main beneficiary of the booties of the war, in multidimensional poverty index?
You people are irredeemably ungrateful for saying SW was the main beneficiary of the civil war booties. Can you point to your family's property that was taken over anywhere in the SW? Yorubas accommodated many igbos who didn't relocated back to SE and there was never a single case of killing igbos in SW during the war. There were many igbo houses that Yoruba helped them to look after, rented them out and handed the rent proceeds to their Igbo owners after the war.

VAT has not, and has never been a criteria for measuring development in any part of the world. I don't know why you guys keep mentioning VAT. VAT simply shows how well a government taxes the citizens. The SE has, historically, not been focused on taxations as much as the SW has been.

Also, it's laughable you're basing your criteria on the number of hotels in a state. Imo State, I'm sure, has more than 1000 hotels
You're a joke for this response. VAT is not levied by your state or local government, so has nothing to do with your poor tax culture in SE. VAT is almost impossible to evade. VAT is determined majorly by the volume of production/manufacturing, Professional services etc. No company registered with CAC can escape VAT. As a matter of fact, you only help govt collect VAT as the burden is passed to the final consumers.

Leave Igbos. They always hide under Yorubas successes. When you look at the richest and most successful Nigerians abroad, they are Yorubas.Tell them to post one tangible business Igbos have abroad and they will scamper off because they have none while Yorubas have several.
About 10 Yoruba businesses and websites abroad were pasted here but when asked to mention just one Igbo business, the man fled.Till date,we have not seen any Igbo to take up the challenge.
I always tell tell them that the same Nigeria they hate with a burning passion is a blessing to them. Nigeria gave them the template and platform to make them what they are today. Before Nigeria amalgamation in 1914, there was no known significant igbo business man compared to Northerners and Yorubas. Today, Nigeria gives them the opportunity to operate kind of business practices that are not permittable in any sane clime. That's why you hardly see or hear of their registered legit businesses in Europe and America etc whereas Yorubas are thriving there.
PoliticsRe: Statisense: SW Has Lowest Multi-dimensional Poverty Followed By SE by Raf4:

Over 60% of cargoes arriving in Lagos are bound for the SE, and you do know Dangote is not the person shipping them to the SE.

Of course the majority of the remaining 40% of those cargoes that are not bound for the SE, are still Igbo owned

So Igbos play a pivotal role in the Lagos economy.

Someone has already mentioned the dominance of Igbos in a great deal of the major markets of Lagos. When you put all these together, you will notice that a combination of Dangote and BUA will not even reach 5% of what Igbos are doing in Lagos.

Let's not even talk of the trans-state transport system with the ATMs, Izundus, GIGMs, Autostars e.t.c that are clearly Igbo-owned.
If 60% of cargoes that enter Lagos/Nigeria are going to the SE, then they must be cargoes of akpu, ofe nsala, abatcha, okpa etc because there is no verifiable stats to justify this in terms of population, industrial production, construction activities, seaports/cargoAirport (for re export) and other consumer factors. Abi East na dumpsite?

PHIPEX:
You really need to learn statistics. Dangote is from Kano and the richest blackman, why is Kano not on the list?

Ignos are better because they spread their wealth, rather than the concentrated wealth of Dangote and Alakija having billions while the rest of their people are poor
And who told you that others don't spread their wealth? Do you have as many middle class as SW? The region with highest numbers of factories, markets, professional services, schools, offices, financial and other institutions will definitely has most middle class and wealth spread amongst the citizens. In this case, SW holds the ace.

Im not entirely sure what multi dimensional poverty means but some people are lucky that the British decided to make Lagos capital of Nigeria, a status it enjoyed for over 80 years

If it had not been for that.........
Nigeria was lucky to have a well developed city with amenities befitting a country as her capital in Lagos. As at 1914, many regions were littered with villages. Your entire region didn't have a single tarred road, electricity, pipe-borne/potable water or any meaningful infrastructure.

And does this make sense to you? You agreed that Yorubas come from Ife and you're saying Alaafin is supreme authority? Over who? No Alaafin had ever disrespected Ooni apart from Adeyemi III and this current one. Alaafin is being rude to the throne and graves of his ancestors. He needs to take heed.

Where is the ENDC today because Odua Investments still exists.

What proof do you have that SE rivaled SW and even overtook the SW?

In my research, there has never been anytime the SE or any other region, overtook the SW either economically or educationally even when the SW was in opposition and the SE was in bed with the North politically.

Tinubu will not win 2027 presidential election in Nigeria and an igbo man from south east will win 2027 Nigeria presidential election either from any of the political parties in Nigeria.
