Emeskhalifa: Pls before you come to shout 'hold your governors accountable and leave FG alone'
Why can't FG who gave out the money make sure the money is being used for what it is meant for? I mean checkmate them not just handover money to them and wash off your hands. It will only make it look like an audio money, where they'd go public and announced that they've given states money then go back to share it behind the scene among themselves. FG should start checkmating states and be inquisitive about what they do with the money. So, when your employer pays you your salary, they have to dictate to you and monitor you on how you spend your salary 😉 |

Zandena: Let me tell whoever cares to listen that the so called tolerance among Yorubas is nothing but big hoax and fallacy! The Muslims among Yorubas are always at the receiving end of the arranged tolerance. Why can't there be a Muslim governor or even deputy governor from states like Ekiti and Ondo if there is truly tolerance? Why can't a Muslim become an SSG or a reasonable number of commissioners in both states? No tolerance there but there is tolerance in states where Muslims are the majority and the Muslim community are being rendered worthless and second class citizens! May thunder fire anyone who sees nothing wrong in this gross injustice and bigotry. MURIC has been raising alarm over the years but you people always attack him for speaking out. Unlike Ondo and Ekiti states that have clear Christians majority, there is no state in the SW with a clear Muslim majority. They can only have a slightly majority in some cases. |

Can you mention any development, infrastructure or a known landmark building or project in SE b4 the civil war? The region was largely combination of villages then. It was Awolowo's empowerment and SW and other regions' acceptance and accommodation that gave you platforms to flourish immediately after the war. So, be humble and appreciative. |

Politics › Re: The Western Cameroun Plebescite Of 1961 by Raf4: 2:11pm On Aug 14, 2023 |
DeepThroater: Why did northern parts of western Cameroun opt to remain in Nigeria but the Southern Cameroun provinces opt to leave Nigeria?
71% in southern Cameroun voted to leave Nigeria while a similar ratio voted in the north to remain in Nigeria.
The reasons for wanting to stay or leave was as a result of the predicaments and treatments both provincial regions faced in their respective regions to either the northern Nigeria region or eastern Nigeria region.
Cameroun was once a German colony but following the end of WW1 and the treaty of Versailles, Germany was forced to pay war reparations to Britain and France.
German Cameroun was then split into two halves and shared between the British and French.
Britain took the western half and included it into their colonial estate , Nigeria while France took the eastern flank. This arrangement began from 1916 to 1959. The Southern Territories of western Cameroun were lumped with the eastern region of Nigeria while the northern provinces got lumped with northern Nigeria.
In the 50's, a movement sprung up by peoples of western Cameroun lumped into the old Ibo dominated eastern region, demanding they either be allowed to become a region of their own or returned back to Cameroun were they had been carved out from. There was no such movement in the mostly Muslim northern parts of western Cameroun.
Following series of petitions to the British and UN , a referendum was organised in 1959 and later postponed till 1961 on western Cameroun exit from Nigeria.
To the north , the Plebescite returned a result to remain in Nigeria under the northern administrative region. To the south, the result was an overwhelming "No" with over 70% wanting out of Nigeria.
Why were there such diverging opinions between the people of north and south Western Cameroun ? If they conduct another referendum today, Ebonyi state will overwhelmingly vote to opt out of SE. |

Sports › Re: Moisés Caicedo To Chelsea For £115M British Record Transfer Fee by Raf4: 11:26pm On Aug 13, 2023 |
FreeSpirited: Waste of money as usual for Chelsea, when theres fantastic option Romeo Lavia is better and way way cheaper...... Kudus is a better and well rounded utility player........way way cheaper
Getting those two players willl cost Chelsea way less than 115 million pounds altogether......Lavia can do all the job of Caicedo even with grace...while Kudus is a fantastic dribbler, scorer, tackler, midfilder, winger all roll into one player....... . But this is Chelsea....they love spending like a prodigal son......Caicedo is good but....not better than Lavia and its stupid to buy him for 115million....is he even better than prime Kante?.....yet on the eve of winning EPL with Leicester, Chelsea got him at a very modest price of i think less than 40....So whats the justification for paying 115 for Caicedo? How much would we now sell machine like Rodri? I hope he will not turn out to become the most expensive flops of the season 😅 |
