With the execution of four inmates in Indonesia, three of which were Nigerians, our brothers and one Indonesian, their brother. It goes to show they mean business. There are more people on death row and many others going on death row daily. It's ridiculous.

If people all over the world stop going to Indonesia, I think that will reduce the people on death row in that country and it should start from us.

We don't need an Indonesian embassy in Nigeria. They need us, Nigerian indomie is one of the highest selling noodles in the world, they need us. How can they be killing our citizens anyhow. If they can get a visa to Indonesia, they will not go there to carry drugs.

Federal government should please close down the Indonesian embassy and save us from more deaths. It's in the best interest of our citizens. They will not stop trying to carry drugs to that country unless they can't get visa to Indonesia any more.

Need our help? Who will need the help of a corrupt country like ours? Sorry to say, our economy is so bad that even small Chad can not need our help. A large number of Nigerians are starving and dying because our leaders are corrupt. The real murderers are our corrupt leaders who ensure no employment in CBN, FIRS and other reputable institution 4 an average Nigerian youth as such are exclusive "right" of the Big politicians and their people.
Until we stop this culture of corruption, no country will ever take us serious.
Indonesia also extremely corrupt, but indonesia is a bit different than nigeria

My only fear about capital punishment is miscarriage of justice. What if an innocent person mistakenly gets ropped in a drug case? What if an innocent traveller gets some drugs planted in his/her luggage by drug traffickers or even a racist police officer? How strong and dependable is Indonesia's justice process?

Lastly, Asia as a whole is one continent I have zero desire/plans to visit in my lifetime. Will stick to Europe and the Americas, where human life is still shown some respect and dignity.

okay, its up to you, your money your life

Typically, people who peddle drugs always have this air of invincibility and smartness around them. 5 years from now, people would still be executed in Indonesia regardless of all these warnings. They are super smart, supermen who believe so much in themselves and in the evil they do.

Only the executioners' bullets bring them back to reality, after which there's no redemption.

I think 10 years is possible, Joko Widodo is very popular right now, esp after he build a lot of infrastructure here, he has massive infrastructure plan, 2 terms of presidency is possible. Not to mention that more than 80% of indonesian in favor of capital punishment for drug related offense (that's why you don't see a lot of objection from indonesian about this execution)

so, in the next 10 years, please be careful if you want to visit indonesia, we are open to tourists/visitors but not drug traffickers

I indonesia is an islamic country, the reason why
no one mentions islam in this case is because these
convicts were executed for trafficking drugs,
a universal crime not a religion-based crime.
you are wrong, indonesia never claim herself as "islamic country", we just a country with muslim majority population.

sorry, we'd rather use our tax to build more infrastructure than feeding those scums
building infras has benefits, feeding those scums don't have any benefits, 3 bullets/person still way cheaper than keeping them alive for 10-20 years

we are already kings in Africa in some respects. Lets be very fair to the country. I agree with you when you said we should control our population; that's why i said we should peak at 200 and lets stay there.

As it is now, our land mass can take up to 250million and there would still be land for other purpose. The last minister of Agriculture said there are millions of hectres of agricultural land that is not being farmed presently. This doesn't include the forest reserves and national parks. As it is now, what we need to do is to try to achieve greater yield per hectre and all the talks about feeding will be taken care of. If Indonesia can still feed its own people despite having a smaller land mass and higher population, and despite being plagued by natural disasters like the monsoon rains, Nigeria should not have a problem feeding its population even if it is 250. But for me, 200 is ok and wre should not go beyond that.

Also, with good housing policy, we should be able to solve the problem of shelter. All the bungalows being built in Abuja, a place that has a good basement rock, should not be what should be springing up there. Since they have good basement rocks, they should have focused on building highrise buildings instead of wasting the land by building the little bungalows they are now building.
Indonesia land area is 1,811,569.0 square km
Nigeria land area is 910,768.0 square km
http://world.bymap.org/LandArea.html

where did you get your data from?

another thing is, there is a lot of volcanoes in indonesia, volcanoes means a lot of fertile soil to support agriculture, thus abundance of foods to supply bigger population

The founding principles of Indonesian state include "Believe in one and only one God" as a fundamental principal and philosophy of the modern Indonesian state.

This core philosophy upon which Indonesia is based comes directly from Qur'an/Islam and it is the fundamental Islamic belief (Tawhid) as you most likely know already. Indonesia isn't an atheistic state like say Norway or other western nations. Indonesia was founded as a state where religion (Islam) was to be nurtured and respected. Offcourse there's huge Christian minority as well and they are allowed to practice their faith but Islam holds all the cultural and political power in majority of the nation. Islamic parties are cornerstone of the government. Indonesian government even arranges and subsidizes Hajj pilgrimage for Muslims with public money.

Islam plays a central and preeminent role in Indonesian society and culture unlike christianity's diminished role and humiliated state in Western World and even Latin American countries. Overwhelming majority of Indonesians are practicing Muslims, millions upon millions of women adhere to Islamic dress codes and even wear Hijabs, meat slaughtered is regulated by halal authorities as demanded by Islamic law, marriage, divorce, and inheritance issues are dealt according to Islamic Shari'ah, Islamic banking is part of country's financial system, and drinking alcohol and premarital sex is unacceptable in the majority of society. Government has even restricted the movement and sale of alcohol, even though Indonesia is a large tourist country. That shows that as a whole, Indonesia is a very Muslim country with Islam having the dominant role in the society and culture.

You can't say the same about christianity and its role any other country in the world (may be some sub saharan african nations--but even then, their founding philosophy/principles weren't based on christianity like they are based on Islam in case of Indonesia.)

err nope
any religion don't have special status in our constitution, but we do have so called "officially" recognized religion, which is Islam, Protestanism, Roman Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist and Confucianism

even muslim here will deny your claim that indonesia is a muslim country, they will correct you that indonesia is not a muslim country but a muslim majority country

A student in Indonesia, Nur Elita was flogged publicly outside a Mosque in Indonesia last week for being in close proximity to a man that is not her husband. It is considered an offence under Sharia law in the country for a man and woman not married to each other to be seen together and the punishment is public caning. Hundreds of people gathered outside the Mosque to watch Nur who collapsed and was taken to the hospital after she was caned for showing affectionate behavior to a fellow university student. The man she was seen with was also caned. See more photos of the caning as you continue...

as I said above, Aceh is semi autonomous province, more like HK and Macau, they have their own law as part of peace treaty to end 30 years of violence

Culture / Re: Woman Caned In Indonesia For Being 'close' To A Man Not Her Husband: (photos) by raimuasu(m): 11:09am On Dec 31, 2015
first of all, the media reporting is bit misleading

that's only applied in Aceh, semi autonomous province, the only province in indonesia with Sharia Law as legal law
other province in indonesia have secular law, legacy of dutch colonial rule

Aceh is also former rebellious province, they are seeking independence because they feel the central government in jakarta is not fair in development, they also resented the javanese rule because according to them, the javanese are too liberal and kuffar even tough javanese also predominantly muslim, they also didn't like javanese because most javanese still retain their Hindu-Buddhist cultural past

where is aceh? here is the map of aceh

aceh is the green one

you see, aceh is small portion of indonesia, the rest of indonesia doesn't have sharia law as legal law
