My people with each passing day and week gone by,we have to accept the grim reality.It is looking unlikely that scholars will meet this September resumption,as hard as it may seem.I think thats the reality,cos' news emanating from NDDC is that they are cashstrapped,so i think the issue of late resumption does not apply here,we are looking at deferring admission.

The big question now is,are we looking at January or September next year? So we know exactly when to defer to?

What about MSc courses that are not offered in January only September?

If January,will one be left with no other choice other than to select a similar course from one of them NDDC approved schools.

What happens to PhD applicants?

Please lets look at these issues,cos' i believe they are germane to this NDDC scholarship.

Well i think the original plan was that by the second week of September,we should make our voices heard.I strongly suggest that we should clamour for an official statement on the outcome of this year's scholarship scheme.

I suggest that wise men/women of this forum lets brainstorm and come up with ways that will help us strike at the heart of this matter,i believe we can use the remaining days of the week to draw up an action plan and by Monday 8th of September,we can start full implementation.

Time is fast running out,i think we have been patient enough,we need to know if it is gonna be released or postponed thats all.

I think its a lot decent the way they handled the RSSDA scholarship,at least they were informed on the state of things,my grouse with NDDC is that nobody is saying anything.

Whatever their decision,they owe it to us to inform us,they have our emails,phone numbers or even national dailies.This country,progressively getting worse since i was born.Abeg anybody wey get any of their hotlines wey dey go thru make e drop am here make all of us call try get official statement on this matter jare.

DSSHQ: I don't think the letters will be given on the same day.Reason being that people will/may have to change their schools for whatever reason or purpose.The award letter must carry your school's name and course of study.I saw last year's own with someone.

Sound reasoning,you sure have a point and considering the fact that with change of schools and courses comes the issuance of new admission letters,it might not be as swift as i earlier stated.

Lets just hope and pray for the best.

Now u say no guarantee when we go hear from dem.Let's just try n be a bit consistent because people want credible info dnt raise hopes unnecessarily.

Bro,i have since stopped believing in any date that people put up here,cos' NOBODY knows when the list will drop save for the NDDC cheiftain and his cronies.

It may drop today,this week even next week for all i care,but for me i try to be optimistic and expectant everyday..have a nice day.

I feel just d way,self funded students show proof of funds,scholarship bodies need show proof of funds too,cos i wanna believe schools release CAS letters to students when dey can prove d funds are truly available.

Got my draft letter set for my Reps at the National Assemble, I sending that in by friday max - cos 99% of WISDOM les in acting ONTIME.

As for those who choose to attack persons it shows u lack substance - the issues u wont raise -others have chosen to raise and do sth it . Make no mistake about it that anyone is going to relent on taking this to the media. Attorney,if you are campaigning for more transparency in the whole NDDC scholarship process, then you may have a leg to stand on. You can write an open letter to a media house and if they see reason with you, they may publish it. You may even write the letter on Nairaland and hopefully it makes frontpage. But if you want to use this delay as a leverage my brother na there you miss road o!. Honourable members of this forum have reached out and are still reaching out to NDDC officials and what they keep saying is that the list is being delayed because of funding issues. Do you think the funding issue is not known to the senate members you want to “report” them to?

A demand for d final list to be made public at this point won't checkmate fraud if dat is our main reason.This demand would have made sense if a list of those invited for interview was made public.Lets give thought to issues before embarking on pointless ventures.

cabaye: thanks bro. assuming your total tuition is more than the Nddc money, is it possible to pay the balance in order to get your cas since 2 weeks extension is not up to 28days ?? can one still apply for visa with that method??

I really don’t know if the right word to use is “paying the balance”

I say this because i know that to obtain your CAS letter you need to pay a specific sum (1kpounds or 2kpounds) as determined by the school. The issue here is not the CAS, because as soon as they receive your award letter/funds they issue you your letter ASAP, i am talking within hours or a day or two.
What I will advise you to do is this;

#if NDDC is only a back-up plan for you, go ahead and pay your deposit, hold the required funds in your account for 28days do your TB test and follow through the process. If you get the letter, nothing changes you just continue.

#if NDDC is your only option, hold on till the last minute, do not commit personal funds into it just yet, because monies paid towards CAS can only be refunded if you are refused visa, or if your admission is cancelled, not if you can’t meet up with other payments (not speaking with all confidence on this shaa). The only thing that may delay you a bit is if you haven’t held monies in your account for 28days and booked a date for your medicals,if you have everything in place, once that letter hits your hand in a few days you can put in a strong visa application and in a week plus you just might be breathing the cold air of the United Kingdom

LATEST: It is now confirmed that the list will "definitely" be PUBLISHED in September. As the source said, it wont be something hidden at all. Delay is due to allocation of funds. We Stay Alive. It is a promise that all scholars will be sorted out irrespective of resumption dates.

Source : NDDC Representative, a lady I spoke about the last time I made a statement on this thread.

Thanks for the info,we appreciate,but lets face it,i dont see what NDDC can do in this case.These schools have an academic calendar,and they wont alter it for even the Royal Family.I think at the end of the day everyone will be left to sort out his/her visa issues.

I am not a prophet of doom,but lets all be on the ball,dont trust NDDC and their lofty promises,try and be proactive,interact with your school and let them know you might experience slight delays that may affect your resumption.

Lets all pray we can meet up with our different resumption dates even with our extension letters.(yes you can write to your school seeking an extension for various reasons,and some even issue letters that can be used to support your visa application).

I just want to seek opinions just in case they release it next month.

Truth is that most schools give an extension period of maximum two weeks,so if your resumption date is nigh,it is best you write to them seeking that extension hoping that it will buy you enough time to tidy things up in good time.

But if after the extension you still cant meet up,my guy na to defer admission be dat oo!
