On the part of NDDC,they have failed us woefully,not even a word.If they are cancelling this years scheme or carrying it over,the heavens wont fall,but at least come out and make a statement.This everyday waiting don dey get to me shaa. #justventing#

To all potential scholars, let's exercise patience. When e fall out we go all see am. My advise is that you should notify your schools of the delay and drop a hint that you might need to defer until Jan or Sept next year. It's a smart and wise step to take.

cabaye: you cannot use two different source of scholarships to fund your tuition. some schools like Portsmouth give 2000 pounds scholarship out of 12500 pounds tuition. the rule says that to be eligible one must have deposited 1000 pounds which would be stated on your cas letter before you can claim the scholarship and cannot be joined with another scholarship.

If the scholarship funding is given to you in cash,or paid into your personal account,you can even use 10 scholarships to fund your tuition if you so wish. The only drawback here is NDDC pays directly to your school chikena!

On a more serious note,NDDC scholarship aint d only means to study abroad for some people so dey dont need the outcome to press ahead with their plans,but for others its either they get the scholarship,or they get the scholarship..#webelieve#

Firstly its Baba God,pray He causes His favour to speak for you,cant emphasise that enough.

A strong presentation during the interview would have done your cause a great deal of good,cos that's another point of screening and only the names of shortlisted candidates are forwarded to NDDC board for final selection (but there are cases of people not even passing the test stage and still getting the final award).

This brings me to the next point.Who do you know?...NDDC scholarship is not 100% merit based,lots of irregularities in the system,so if you have someone to push for you,then you stand a chance to grab a slot.

I cant say much about distribution amongst the L.G.A's in the state,because a final list is not published,so we cant say for certain how it was distributed.Truth is that for NDDC to gain the trust of people,they should publish names of people invited for the interview and names of people awarded the scholarship.Till that is done,its going to always be business as usual.

Every good school is renowned for its top notch expertise in a particular or several fields.When we talk about schooling in the UK,most of the schools that are ranked highly have majored in some specific areas.You cannot talk about Oil and Gas related courses in the UK and ignore RGU. In a nutshell,its not the "course",but where you studied the "course"

Make we leave all this matter jare..NDDC do the needful oooo!!!

cabaye: i don't know what course you are studying but you are likely to end up in low profile universities like ( Plymouth Coventry Salford Westminster Robert Gordon ) etc if you get the scholarship.

EMMABC1: Don't worry abt meeting d financial conditions for d visa. The award letter covers everything. The 28days rule does not apply to scholarshp-funded study frm recognized govt and corporate institutions- which nddc is among. For the visa processing time, it usually takes 2wks, 3wks up to 4wks at peak periods. One can still meet up as most UK schools resume last week (btw 28-30th ) of september, deadline extending to 1st week of Oct for int'l students.

The award letter only covers everything if your fees+maintenance can be settled with the scholarship funding. If it doesn't then you sure have to show proof of the outstanding balance left.

GlobalCareers: How do I go about in borrowing funds to be in my acct. I have not found anyone to borrow from yet? Do I have to consult my bank or what other options?

How much funds are we talking about bro..dats the first step,have you thought of breaking the lump sum into smaller bits and seeking from various sources?

GlobalCareers: I understand that study funds should be kept in a bank account for 28 days. But are we presenting a bank statement for the past 1 month or 2 mnths or 6 mnths?

EMMABC1: Dear fellow hopefuls, sorry for d wrong info given to u by me earlier today as their was a little mix up frm my sources. The latest report emerging frm nddc 2day shows that d nddc is waiting for Mr President to sign the budget that was just approved by d senate. My brother who is an nddc contractor met wt d chairman 2day who told him that. He even directed him to check if my name is on d final list wt from d director who unfortunately was not in d office. He will return on tuesday. So, I doubt if d sms will start coming in frm 2moro. Sorry 4 giving u false hope.
