My BS

Been having false contractions right from 37weeks and I kept going to check doc kept saying 1cm so got frustrated wanted to try Vbac and I was told baby mustn't be more than 3.4kg and I wouldn't go past 41weeks. So by 40 weeks went to see the doc he now said he's giving me 10days grace or come for CS on Monday that was yday.

Flash back to Thursday's started losing my mucus plug them Friday contractions become worse was timing and it became 5mins apart still wanted to endure and wait till morning after prayers by 3am I cloudnt endure again had to wake hubby. Prepared my older son fro my Inlaw and we left the house and got to the hospital by 3:30am. By the time I was checked I was about 7cm Matron asked if I wanted to born at home. Entered labour room and by 7:45am baby came out weighing 3.3kg. My doc was so happy though I had tear.

Didn't shout at all o! just kept shaking their bed I'm sure some nuts go don loose for that bed . Thanks to Zaynie for the encouragement. "Labour no too sweet o"

Team Captain we are in the same shoes o. I'm already eyeing team March. Baby just dey chill inside. These days I don't even pick calls or reply pings sef. Them wan use anxiety disturb person. Lesson learnt sha next time I'll only let few friends and family know my due month.

Thank God they've been caught. These men caused so much damage at Supper cell estate in Apo. Up till now I'm still scared of going back to that estate. It was a night of terror. Killing that innocent pregnant woman whom we heard took years to get pregnant

Yes Ma reporting for duty. Headache wants to kill me o Even though my BP is normal. Also baby is still breech at 30weeks any way to make baby turn ?

it happened to me last week. I was told my blood is low just like u am scared of drugs, so they recommended liquid blood tonic for me. Maybe u should check ur blood pt.

Please take your lonart. Information doesn't exist about the safety of lonart in pregnancy however malaria in pregnancy can lead to very grievous consequences low birth weight, premature birth, spontaneous abortion of the baby , still birth amongst other things.

My dear sisters in the house plz help me I was tested for malaria and it was positive though +seen which is minimal "I think". I was then prescribed Lonart double strength. My question is how safe is Lonart I'm almost 26weeks gone. A doc prescribed but I just want to be extra sure that's why I'm asking. Thanks in advance

So by around 6pm, Dr comes around to check me and says I am 4cm gone and that my progress will determine my birth plan.
All these while I was forming strong girl. No shouting or whatever....
By 10pm....omo forget it....I was raking for them...The Dr on call was Dr Okoli...God bless him for me cos I so frustrated him....there were 2 nurses....ahhhh dem hear am for my hand.
I was just shouting..."Dr come and check me o" He yinmued to me and checked....Lo and behold I was 8/ 9 cm...he was like "wow! You are dilating fast o" ....it now sweetened my belly. He made the mistake of telling me that in 1hr I would have my baby.
By 11, he came to check me and said I was fully dilated, baby was descending but I still had anterior cervix....wharrisdat??. He said hold on for like 30 mins. By this time I was shouting the roof down so much that nobody in that labour room was able to sleep. I kept shouting .....Dr Okoli....save me... I dont want to die.....help me....they hooked me on to glucose drip..power kan double!
Some of my drama:
- the Dr hooked my drip on the same stand with another patient...from where I was hitting my hand...her drip fell and burst. She shouted....' yeah! She don fall my drip o....na my drip she fall' I apologised profusely....her drip was replaced....in like another 10 minutes....I fell that one down again...the whole thing just scattered on the floor....I did not apologise this time around ...when Matron said " hajia....take it easy now" I said " must we share the same stand....separate us nah! You ppl should leave me o'

- I so scared a young lady in labour that she ran out of the labour room and told her husband she was no longer in labour that there is a woman scaring her there! My sister was beside the husband. She was just laughing hard... she told her that I am a screamer o.....!

- I poo pooed nonsense for them. Right now my butt hole feels like a mess! They cleaned me up like 5 times o....

- I kept running to the toilet....everytime...toilet to do nothing o....just sit on the closet while contraction holds me... dem wan use style fix me with catheter ...I said I dont want o!!!! I can wee wee by myself!

- husby bought oxytocin and cytotec as per instruction. I packed it and hid it. Only for Dr to start looking for it. I throwey face. When he asked
me pointedly I said. .."Dr....I cant use oxytocin again na...I have a previous scar..."
Dr just shook his head and said the oxytocin is to shrink your uterus after you give birth. I said " oooookkkkkkk" and brought it out from where I hid it.

By midnight, Dr came to check me and still the anterior cervix was still there....I said
" Dr Okoli, I changed my mind...lets do the CS". Everybody started laughing.
Dr Okoli said "Zainab, I have not changed my mind....you wanted to experience labour? Face it"
"Dr, do you want me to die of pain, I feel faint "
"Zainab, as long as you are hooked to that drip...you wont get weak".....hot damn!

I lay on my bed and keep screaming the roof down each time contraction sets in.
By 1am I start pushing....I couldnt help myself. ..the nurses kept shouting at me to pant but I jusy kept pushing....I couldnt help it. That was when the poops came.
Dr Okoli said....Zainab...you will tear your cervix o
I am like...this is my last child....I dont need the cervix anymore. He just started laughing....He was like what kind of patient is this o!

By 2am....the stuff was still there..Dr said we have to do CS that if I could hold on till it goes fine but since I was already pushing he doesnt want wahala. I called husby....oya come and sign consent form. Husby came along with my eldest sister. He signed the form, went to get the drugs.
Meanwhile I was busy shouting...I want to poo poo....the poopoo is coming from the front!
The matron came to change into the theatre overall for me and said..Lie down, lemme check you. Lo and behold she saw my baby crowning and shouted " Dr .....I can see the head o...no need for theatre again lets go to delivery room.
See the race with which I got to the delivery room...naked sef....Dr Okoli didnt even ask me before I pushed, he cut me o and I had a lot of ragged tears from pushing but I got my VBAC....

Thank God for that last minute check up from the Matron. I would have just laboured for 22hrs and still had CS.
Next day....come and see laugh in the labour ward....everybody was hailing me.
One lady saw my husby and told him I should be a choirmistress..with my very loud voice.
Another one called me Dr Okoli's wife.
Dr Okoli said...' I dont want to see you here requesting for VBAC when you have low threshold for pain"
The Matrons said .....ahh Hajia can kill somebody....see as she scatter our head...
I was just laughing....and hugging....even Dr Okoli came to see me in the morning...he was just shaking his head. He handed me over to that Dr that counselled me and called me lawyer....I used shakara to tell the Dr. ...See Dr, I got my VBAC"
My supposed "BIG BABY" was simply 3.1kg.

Congrats my sister. Wow! You labored for 22hrs and my doc is saying she would only give me 6hrs to labour if I don't progress then no VBAC for me. I think I need to change hospital ASAP. Can't one take epidural for this pain?

D points u made earlier are actually valid and I agree dat women shldnt reject cs if its d safest means of delivery.What I m trying to say is dat medicine s individualized, and u never say never in medicine. For d index patient, I see no need for cs just based on d fact dat her baby weighed 3.8kg from scan.That was d only basis d Dr used.He didn't tell her anything abt pelvic inadequacy or CPD. U ll agree wt me dat some drs perform cs just cos of d increased cash involved, esp in private practice. As sad as it is, dats d truth. Most gynaecologists don't rely on pelvimetry these days. D practice s usu to allow every woman try par vaginum(except of course there's an absolute contraindication). Shoe size can b used too, its like a crude method of assessment. Welcome on board ma.

Please how is the shoe size method of assessment calculated even though you say it's crude just want to try it. I want to try a VBAC this time around my first CS was due to fetal distress. I'm 5ft and my shoe size is 39. Thanks
