Politics › Re: Tribunal: Melaye Accuses Tinubu Of Backing Adeyemi At A’court by ramdris(op): 3:36am On Jul 06, 2015
I think this Dino have not learnt his lesson as regards the way he was treated when he was in the house of reps. He seems to talk too much and love controversy.

He seems to be feeling too important for my likening. What makes him think he is the only one that made Saraki the Senate president amongst other APC and PDP members alike?

My advice to him is to soft pedal and face what he was elected to do. Tinubu am sure can not be chasing after Melaye. The Senator has usual is just seeking attention. No wonder he was beaten severely by Bankole boys...
Politics › Tribunal: Melaye Accuses Tinubu Of Backing Adeyemi At A’court by ramdris(op): 3:30am On Jul 06, 2015
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, on Sunday alleged that a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had decided to offer support for Senator Smart Adeyemi, who is currently challenging his electoral victory at the Court of Appeal.
Melaye, an APC senator, told journalists in Abuja that Tinubu had contacted the immediate-past Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN), to take over the legal battle on behalf of Adeyemi.
He also said that Adeyemi, on the request of Tinubu, had forwarded details of the suit to Adoke, asking him to look for a judge in the Court of Appeal that would offer assistance.
But Tinubu, in his reaction, had asked Melaye to look elsewhere for people to blackmail.
Tinubu, who spoke through his Media Adviser, Mr. Sunday Dare, said it was nothing but a “kitchen of malicious lies.”
Dare said, “This is another lie from their kitchen of malicious lies. They are all over the social and traditional media, spewing lies and planting stories. We are not about that. Nigerians are not as gullible as they think.
“He is aligned with people who want to kill the party, and we wish him luck, but they will not succeed because the party belongs to the Nigerian people.
“This blackmail, like other ones, will not work. It cannot stick. Adoke? Who is he? Tinubu cannot recall when last he saw him or even spoke with him. Dino should look elsewhere for people to blackmail.”
Melaye had claimed that he incurred the wrath of Tinubu after refusing to back down from supporting the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, during the recently concluded election of presiding officers of the 8th Senate.
But Melaye said he had no regret over his role, leading to the emergence of Saraki as the Senate President.
He said, “I have no regret supporting Senator Saraki and my electoral victory was ordained by God and not by man. Therefore, no mortal can reverse it. In God I trust, no matter how desperate they might be.
“I am privy to an electronic mail sent to Adoke by an Abuja-based senior editor who is close to Tinubu in which he forwarded the court papers filed by Smart Adeyemi at the tribunal to Adoke.
“In the said e-mail, Adoke was told to look for a trusted justice in the Court of Appeal who would be useful for Smart Adeyemi.”
It will be recalled that the Election Petition Tribunal in Lokoja had upheld the election of Melaye who was elected on the platform of the APC.
The tribunal had dismissed the petition filed by a former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and former chairman, Senate Committee on FCT, Adeyemi, because his lawyers filed their defence too late.
Delivering judgment in the suit, Chairman of the three-member tribunal, Justice Akon Ikpeme, described the petition by Adeyemi, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, as “incurably defective.”

The way xtians reacts to anyone who converts to Muslim always brings out their hypocrisy. If u convert to Muslim, u r dumb but it's OK to convert to xtian. They forget it's not possible for everyone to be practicing one religion even during the time of Jesus. When we learn to respect everyone's view, the world will b a better place so far their beliefs has zero impact on their lives.

Music/Radio › 10 Shocking Nigerian Music Videos In Recent Times. by ramdris(op): 4:52am On Jul 05, 2015
Music videos are  mediums for artistes to showcase their looks, dance steps and tell a story of their songs. In the Nigerian music landscape, it has grown beyond that into a medium for display of gangsterism, sex and violence. Our videos have become bad deal for our impressionable youths who tend to copy most of what they see on TV and the internet.  And the Nigerian cinematographers  are pushing the limits and becoming more expressive in their shots.:

1.Mr2kay

These days, caution has been thrown into the wind  and their new form of entertainment is display of  boobs, butt or bust cleavage, naked laps and other subtle erotic parts of the body. Studies have shown a connection between music videos and violent behavior of adolescents. The study also shows a relationship between the imagery displayed in videos and inappropriate sexual behaviours. In no particular order, we chronicle 10 Nigerian music videos that will send shock waves down your spine.

2. Reminisce –Skilashi 2015

Just like his previous sensual video, Tesojue, Reminisce continues to push the limits as far as  releasing shocking videos is concerned. The Alaga Ibile  crooner  makes use of vulgar lyrics and obscene images in this video. The visuals are filled with different scenes where the video vixens can be seen dancing provocatively and occasionally revealing their bums.
In other words, this video falls into the category of a soft porn. Lately, Reminisce has been releasing sexually charged videos without thinking of the harmful effects it will have on the younger generation. The video is directed by Frizzle and Bizzle Films.

3.Olamide –Falila Ketan 2015

What message can be passed in a music video where bums are being shaken in most of the scenes? This is the question that comes to mind when you watch Olamide’s Falila Ketan. All you can see in the video is skimpily dressed ladies twerking their God-given bums. It’s not the kind of video you want to watch in the presence of your children, if you don’t want to answer inquisitive questions. The video is directed by Unlimited L.A.

4. Niyola-Love to love you – 2014

Before the video of this song was released, the beautiful RnB singer, Niyola, posted a picture from the video shoot with her upper body laid bare, covering her breasts with her arms.
This generated various negative comments on the social media. Love to love you is a love song with sexual connotations, provocative dance steps and erotic steamy scenes.
The video was shot in New York and shows how Niyola loves to show love to her man. The video is directed by Kemi Adetiba.

5. Wizkid- Expensive Shit– 2015

Though this song has an amazing Afrobeat feel, it still goes on to unveil some shocking  raunchy scenes and suggestive dance styles. The visuals were shot in South Africa and capture Wizkid in the midst of skimpily dressed video vixens.Towards the end of the video,Wizkid cuddles one of the video vixens, puts her in a compromising provocative posture, as though he is ready to take her to the ‘Next level’. The video is directed by Sesan.

6. Seyi Shay-Crazy 2014

Seyi Shay’s vocal dexterity is in no doubt, but same cannot be said of this music video which  has many question marks over it. The visuals have various sexual scenes blended with provocative dance steps. In a particular scene, Wizkid is spotted in a romantic position with Seyi Shay.
This short scene has Seyi Shay seizing Wizzy’s crotch. In another scene, Seyi Shay can be seen twerking on Wizkid. The video is directed by Meji Alabi.

7. Mr2kay –Bad girl special – 2015 (featuring Cynthia Morgan and Seyi Shay)

Weeks before the video was officially released, the behind-the-scenes pictures were unveiled to the public. A particular steamy picture of Mr2kay and Cynthia Morgan went viral, getting  everyone thinking there could be more between the duo than just music. For starters, the video begins with Cynthia Morgan seductively walking towards Mr2kay in a revealing top.
In this scene, the German juice sensation shows off her curves and cleavage, affirming that she is a ‘Bad’ girl for real. Another notable part in the video is a scene where the duo are in the kitchen caressing each other with Cynthia taking a sniff of her cigarette. There was a time when Nigerian music videos had a message and brilliant concepts, it seems those days are long gone. The video is directed by Clarence Peters.

8. Davido –Fans Mi – 2015

What comes to mind when you see guns, lots of cash on a table and ladies dressed seductively  in a music video? This image portrays violence, gangsterism and sensuality. Davido’s new video depicts these negative vices in no small way. In the visuals, the young popstar tries to seal a deal to supply cocaine, while the leader of the gang hands him stacks of dollars for the business transaction. He goes back to his house where he is welcomed by scantily dressed ladies arranging the cocaine.
If music videos are meant to be a vehicle to pass positive messages for the good of the coming generation, this video has done nothing but just the opposite. The video is directed by Sesan.

9. Cynthia Morgan-German Juice 2015

The title says it all. German Juice connotes buttocks. The ladies in this video swings it from the beginning to the end. It was shot on a sunny and summer-themed location. Cynthia Morgan sings on a groovy dancehall beat while the ladies were just shaking their big bums. The video is poor in concept and lacks the needed depth that should  be displayed in a music video. The video is directed by Clarence Peters and Jude Okoye.
Skuki-Silifa 2014

10. Flavour

This video is reminiscent of Timaya’s Shake your bum  bum where ‘White’ video vixens were shaking their assets. Shot sometime last year, the song’s lyrics is empty and the video has no storyline. The only shocking aspect of the visuals is the brazen manner the video vixens were shaking their buttocks. Little wonder, it was tagged ‘Not suitable for work’(NSFW).
Flavour-Ololufe (Featuring Chidinma) 2015
Flavour made headlines years back when he passionately kissed Tiwa Savage in the video of the song ‘Onyi remix’. It generated lots of controversy and sparked dating rumours been these two hit makers. This is 2015, and the  suave singer is back to his kissing antics.
This time his partner in crime is the petite Chidinma Ekile and the video is ‘Ololufe’. Since the video hit the public domain, she has been heavily condemned. Though, Chidinma has revealed that she is not dating Flavour, her fans are yet to recover from the shock of seeing her engage in such an offensive act. The video is directed by Godfather productions.

Education › We Won’t Pay Staff Schools Workers’ Salaries Again – FG by ramdris(op): 3:27am On Jul 02, 2015
The Federal Government has formally hands off the payment of salaries of teaching and non-academic workers of staff schools in institutions across the country.

The National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission specifically said government should not be responsible for the payment of their salaries because of its overbearing effect on the budget.

Part of the mandate of the commission includes monitoring the wage sector and advising the Federal Government on the fixing and regulation of workers’ salaries and other remuneration as well as the control of personnel costs.

The announcement by the chairman of NSIWC, Chief Richard Egbule, during a press briefing on Wednesday in Abuja came on the heels of threat by the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities to embark on strike if the Federal Government refused to fund the schools which were said to have been established by the institutions.

“I would like to appeal to staff unions not to distract the new government with unnecessary demands. The government has stopped payment of salaries of members of staff in the primary and secondary schools in these tertiary institutions and the decision is final,” he said.

He recalled that in an agreement signed between the Federal Government and SSANU in November 2009, it was clear that universities should bear the full capital and costs of both staff primary and secondary schools, while parents of pupils and students should bear the recurrent costs.

Egbule said that in the course of its inspection, the commission observed a trend in which government-owned institutions charge the funding of staff schools established by them to government treasury.

This, he said, contributed to the overbloating of the recurrent cost in government budget.

To correct the situation, the commission said a study it carried out in 2013 to ascertain the number of staff schools in the country revealed many disturbing trends.

“Fourty-eight did not have staff schools, 21 funded their staff schools from their internally generated revenue, while 51 funded theirs from federal treasury budget sources by hiding the staff lists of such schools as part of the institution’s authentic members of staff.

“In some instances, the staff salary of such schools was placed on the salary structure meant for tertiary educational institutions, which is higher in quantum than the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure which has been costing the Federal Government about N4bn per annum,” Egbule stated.

The commission added that based on its findings, it issued a circular with reference number SWC/S/04S.446/T2/85 dated August 27, 2014” in which it stated that the policy was applicable to all staff schools meant for the children of the personnel of such institutions and other members of the public regardless of the nomenclature used.

The National President of SSANU, Samson Ugwoke, told had journalists in Abuja that the government’s decision would contravene an earlier agreement reached between government and relevant associations in 2009. The agreement, he said, was that government would continue with the funding of recurrent and capital expenditures of universities’ staff schools.

“An institution (the National Universities Commission), that is supposed to advise the government rightly is not doing so. We are calling on the government to do the needful and what is right. This is the last warning and you will not hear from us again until we take action because strike is imminent,” he threatened.

According to him, the schools were established by statues and therefore made provision for employment of relevant workers by the universities’ council.

Ugwoke had said government should not resort to distribution of directives through circulars and throw thousands of employees into the labour market.

He argued that the law should be changed before such a directive could be implemented.
