Romance › Must Read! 10 Reasons Men Dump You (listen Up, Ladies!) by Rapfreak(op): 7:32pm On Feb 21, 2015 |
Must Read! 10 Reasons Men Dump You (Listen Up, Ladies!) have you been into relationships and get heart breaks? Read this post and know your mistakes. If you've ever had your heart broken, I'm going to give it to you straight. While every breakup happens differently, a lot of guys tend to come up with the same reasons. If we really think about it, it can't ALWAYS be something that the guys did ... can it? Of course, this doesn't fit every instance of a breakup, and this doesn't apply to every woman but it does leave us wondering. Check out these ten reasons why he may have broken up with you.1. Women don't listen. When a man says something, give him a chance to speak. Listen to what he says. The problem is that sometimes, guys will end up with someone who makes him feel as though he doesn't know what he's talking about. We're not always right, but we do have opinions, and it gets under our skin when we're made to feel like our opinion doesn't matter. Who wants to stay with someone like that? 2. Women listen to their friends too much. We understand the need for female friendship. We can go with the girls' night out deal. But when you start letting your single girlfriends (who constantly run guys off or haven't dated since antenna TV) get into the business of your relationship, that's asking for trouble. You want to think that your man has a mind of his own when he's out with the guys, right? We're no different. We expect you to talk to your girlfriends, even if it's about us. Just be careful what you decide to bring back from those conversations. 3. The relationship is NOT a family affair. We're not trying to take you away from your family. This is a relationship, not a kidnapping. However, if we're mature enough to leave home and keep what goes on between us just between us, then is it too much to ask of you to do the same? If you tell your mom and your sisters about every single argument and disagreement that we have, then don't you think that they're not going to like us very much? Then you'll wonder why we don't like going around them, right? 4. We're not joined at the hip. We don't have to go every single place that you go, and we don't expect you to go everywhere with us. That's what makes our time together special. We each had our own likes and dislikes before we met. You did things alone or with your girls, and that's fine. Don't try to drag your man with you if it's going to be nothing but you and the girls talking. We don't want to sit and listen to talk about hair, nails, fashion, who's man is cheating on who, etc. Just shoot us first, if that's the case. 5. Is this a relationship or a prison sentence? We expect parolees to give an account of where they've been almost all the time, and who they've been with. Parole officers check to see if the parolees actually report to work. A relationship is supposed to have more trust than that. If a man feels that he's not being trusted, and he hasn't done anything deserving of the interrogation process (a la Law And Order), then don't expect to have him around too much longer. This would apply primarily to someone who has a lot of insecurities. 6. Independence is great — to a point. Call it ego, male insecurity, whatever you like. There's no getting around the fact that we need to feel that we're in this for more than just sex (yeah, I know ... sounds weird coming from a guy). If you keep telling a man (and showing him, too) that you can do everything on your own, then what do you need him for? As shallow as it may sound, we do have to have our ego fed just a bit (maybe some guys more than others, but I think you get the idea). 7. Being too dependent is not a good thing, either. I know it sounds like we can't make up our minds between numbers 6 and 7, but there is a balance. It's like we want a grown woman who can handle her business, but still let us know that there's a place in her life for us that only we can fill. You're not a child, and we don't expect to treat you like one or take care of you like one. If you come to a guy for every single thing, and can't seem to make up your mind or make decisions ... well, one day he make make up his mind and not come back. 8. Don't you ever have anything nice to say? Yeah, we mess up from time to time (and it may seem that those times run pretty close together). But what about some props? Can't your man do anything right? I'm not talking about being patronizing or treating him like a first grader keeping his colors inside the lines ("Way to go, Ronnie!" . Nobody can stand always being criticized. Psychologists call it "positive reinforcement." Men call it "giving us a break." 9. There's no future in the past. We've all made mistakes. The thing is to learn from them, not live in them. if your man made a mistake, and you've agreed to forgive him for it, then do that. Don't bring it up and keep beating him over the head with it. If you keep bringing up the past, then be prepared to talk about your man in the past tense, as in "ex." 10. Maybe his friends won't be your friends, but don't dog them out, either. He knew them before he knew you. He knows how they are. If one (or more) of his friends are players, he knows this already. You don't have to remind him of that. if you keep making negative comments about them, what you're really doing is showing an insecurity and, in a more subtle way, expressing a lack of trust. If he's with you and everything is going right then don't let whatever actions his friends take influence the relationship. Of course, this isn't a complete list. This is just a conversation starter. Any other thoughts, or something more to add? Source:- Must Read! 10 Reasons Men Dump You (Listen Up, Ladies!) - www.SureNaija.com |

Rapfreak: Valentine's Day Myths Revealed - Do You Believe Any Of These Myths About Valentine's Day? You'd Better Read This
SureNaija has your Valentine's Day covered. Make sure to check out our ideas for 10 things to do on the big day or how to make the 14th a sensual Valentine's Day .
As a woman, I’m here to give you straight men my personal opinion on the monstrosity that is Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is a Hallmark holiday. We all know this, but at its core it’s about appreciating the person you are with at that moment in time or if you are single celebrating sex and love in general. There’s no right or wrong way to do Valentine’s Day, but there’s a lot of people who would tell you otherwise. (Okay, I mean, dumping your girlfriend with a singing telegram that says, “Get your crap out of my place tonight and take flight” is pretty dark, but I would like to think none of you readers are that devoid of basic decency.)
According to sweet fables of ancient history, Valentine’s Day honors the day that the goddess Aphrodite punished her son Cupid (who was a God) for his relationship with a mortal, Psyche. Although Aphrodite was a loving, nurturing woman she was also painted as an extremely jealous woman when it came to the men in her life, including her own kin. (What an original idea to attach to a woman, can we whip out the Bible next and talk about how manipulative and evil Eve was?) Cupid and Psyche did not work out for the differences in their mortality and their crazy families, but Cupid did famously shower Psyche with luxurious gifts on their first night together. Then, Hallmark got involved, like, way later.
In the name of fables, let’s dig into some more modern myths surrounding Valentine’s Day that should be challenged:
Myth: You Have To Break The Bank
According to a survey performed by The National Retail Federation, in 2014 the average American spent $133.91 on their significant other for Valentine’s Day. Although it was reported that men spent twice as much on gifts alone (men reported $108.38, while women were at $49.41), it seems that the numbers are telling this: you do not need to break the bank on Valentine’s Day. When you really think about these numbers, $133 is not a lot for an evening out. Keep it simple. Valentine’s Day is about spending time. Showing you care. It’s the most cliché concept in the book of love, but come on, man it’s not about the money, and if it is, then you might need to check the vitals of your relationship.
Myth: Chocolate
The aphrodisiac qualities of chocolate? Probably a myth.
Yes, a lot of people like chocolate but the whole idea that the way to a woman’s heart is flowers, diamonds and chocolate is about as old as my grandmother’s car. The way to a woman’s heart is through great orgasms and friendship. Yes, chocolate never killed any woman (in fact, it only made Jeanne Calmentstronger until age 122), but when it comes down to it great sex always beats chocolate. Always. Why do you think the women in the commercials eating chocolate are sexualizing that truffle? (Many reason, we know commercials are crap. I hope you get my tone, man.)
Myth: New Couples Need To Celebrate A Traditional Valentine's Day
I do not agree with the forced subjection of a big Valentine’s Day wine, dine and romance when you are at the beginning of a relationship. Obviously, you should want to share this day with the person you are seeing (if you do not, then you got problems because why would you bother dating someone you do not even like), but if the relationship is fresh, the celebration does not need to be grandiose and grossly romantic. Just spend the night together, but offer a little more than you would on a normal date. Use your imagination. Have fun together.
Myth: You Need To Buy Lingerie
In my early twenties I worked at a really upscale lingerie boutique. Sunday’s were my favorite day because that was the day when all the crappy boyfriends would come in, sweating out the alcohol from the night before in their overpriced sunglasses, desperately trying to find their girlfriend a lingerie “gift” - Really, who is that “gift” actually for, man? Come on - to make up for staying out too late or doing whatever thing they think they did wrong. It was hilarious and I loved it. The thing about lingerie though, is that you want to pick it out yourself. All woman have at least one if not a few self conscious thoughts about their bodies, so when dressing up in such an intimate outfit they have to feel totally comfortable, confident and sexy. It’s really nice when you guys try but lingerie is something you should let her pick out or buy together. Make it about both of your fantasies.
Oh, and only 11% of men who buy gifts buy lingerie.
Myth: DIY Gifts Are A Great Option
How many times have we seen this scenario played out as comedy in sitcoms? Probably way more than we can actually remember and it always goes horribly wrong. When you and your honey are low on cash, why not just make it about having time together? Talking and sex are two great things that cost you nothing. Fulfill her greatest sexual fantasies. Let her get in on yours. The options are endless and penniless.
Myth: Couples' Baths Are Sexy
This idea is always killer in theory, but the reality is that most of us do not have tubs big enough to fit two human bodies comfortably. There’s another problem too: a few years ago a study showed that hot baths might be destroying men’s fertility. Sexy, huh?The water gets cold, your junk shrivels up and things just aren’t always as awesome as they are depicted in romantic Hollywood scenes. By all means, if you have a big old jacuzzi tub, then the whole sexy bath thing can work, but why not try a long, hot shower together instead? Water sex is always fun and healthy when there is no chlorine involved.
Myth: Valentine's Day Is The Perfect Day To Pop The Question
There are so many mistakes that can be made when popping the big old question. My personal favorite is the public sporting event big screen proposal fails. That’s just comedy for hours. However, there’s this common myth that proposing on Valentines Day is the ultimate, most romantic thing a man can do for the woman he loves. Guess what? Having your engagement date on Valentine’s Day is like being born on Christmas Day. According to a study, up to six million people expect or suspect they’ll be proposed to on Valentine’s Day. Who wants to share such a personal moment in their chosen path of monogamy with a national holiday, and so many other people? (I mean, from what I can tell, serial monogomists aren’t so into sharing anyways.)
Happy Valentines Day and good luck!

Rapfreak: Akwa Ibom Stadium nominated for global award
Nigeria’s most modern stadium, the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, has been nominated for the 2014 Stadium of the Year award.
According to a press release from StadiumDB, which keeps a database of stadia worldwide, the newly built Stadium in Uyo, nicknamed “Nest of Champions”, is among venues nominated for the award.
A breakdown reveals that the current edition includes 32 major stadiums opened in 2014. Eight are located in Brazil, three in the USA, while Hungary and Poland each have two nominees.
“It’s great to see a new stadium for Nigeria to be proud of. Its white outer cladding and illumination also make it stand out globally and become a true landmark for Uyo,” Grzegorz Kaliciak, founder of StadiumDB.com, organizer of the competition, said.
Officially opened on November 7, 2014 by President Goodluck Jonathan, the Akwa Ibom International Stadium is set to be the new hub of sporting activities in Nigeria even as the Super Eagles have already adopted the stadium as their new home ground, same as the U23 team, Dream Team VI.
Seen as a largely transparent award, stadium enthusiasts from around the world have been accorded the chance to select their Stadium of the Year.
“Each Internet user may vote only once by selecting five most favourite stadia. Within the first 4 days over 25,000 people have given their vote through dedicated online platform. The vote is open until February 17,” the organisers said in a press statement.
“A separate vote is run by the competition jury, consisting of famous architects from five countries. Bob van Bebber and Mike Bell from South Africa designed stadiums of the 2010 World Cup, while Bruno Campos from Brazil was one of the architects of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The Jury also consists of John Bontinck (Belgium), Bryan Roe (Ireland) and Serban Tiganas (Romania).
The Public Vote and Jury Vote awards will both be announced on February 19.
The Stadium of the Year is held every year in January and February by Stadiony.net and StadiumDB.com, two websites dedicated solely to sports stadiums. Current edition is already the fifth one. Previous winners include Aviva Stadium (2010), PGE Arena Gdańsk (2011), Gremio Arena (2012) and Ghelamco Arena (2013).

Rapfreak: Can PDP rise again in Edo?
By SureNaija.com
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, once a strong political institution, has in the last seven years suffered a self-induced dwindling of fortunes. The July 14, 2012 governorship election defeat in all the 18 local government areas may well have signalled the death of the party in the state.
It would be helpful for a fuller and better understanding of how and why the party in Edo State came to this sorry state. After the unfortunate and ill-advised annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election won by late M.K.O. Abiola , an Interim National Government headed by Chief Ernest Shonekan was put in place by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida in August 1993. It had lasted barely three months when it was overthrown in November of the same year by Gen. Sani Abacha. Abacha promptly dissolved all political structures in the country including the two political parties of SDP and NRC, the National Assembly, state assemblies and governments.
His attempt at giving the nation a democratic government led to the formation of political parties that later became known as the five leprous fingers. The idea to transform self from military head of state to a democratically elected president reared its head at this time. The subsequent death in 1998 of Gen. Abacha and the ascendancy to leadership by Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar thereafter paved the way for the resumption of full political activities with the announcement of a transition time table to end with presidential elections in 1999. It was, therefore, in 1998 that several political players dubbed old and new breed politicians held meetings that culminated in the formation and registration of several political parties prominent amongst which are PDP, ANPP, AD, ACN, APGA and LP. In Edo State, prominent political figures teamed up in Edo Solidarity Movement (ESM) to scout for a national party which they believed could win elections. These figures include Chief Tony Anenih, Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, Chief Tom Ikimi , Chief J.B. Momoh and a host of vothers.
The alliances formed before and after this consultative meeting led to the three major political gladiators in the state, Chief Anenih, Dr. Ogbemudia and Chief Igbinedion, teaming up in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. This simple fact of these leaders who had previously held sway in different parties joining forces in the same party gave the PDP an edge. In the 1999 elections, the PDP performed so well that it appeared it was the only party that contested elections in the state. In the heat of the 2004 diabolical plan of President Olusegun Obasanjo to secure an illegal third tenure, the then leadership of the party, with active support of the now chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Tony Anenih, hatched a membership re-registration scheme designed to deregister all those who were perceived not to support the self perpetuation plan of Obasanjo.
More than half of the members of the party were thus shut out. One other factor w that has torn things apart for the PDP in the state is the fortuitous emergence of Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole as governor, having won the gubernatorial election of April 2007 on the platform of ACN. The woes of the PDP have since then multiplied beyond manageable proportions with the Oshiomhole administrations transparently committed and systematic application of tate resources to better the lives of the people. In six years, the Comrade Oshiomholeadministration has done what two successive PDP governments could not do in 10 years while in power in the state. Every aspect of governance has been affected positively.
The present administration has constructed, reconstructed and rehabilitated more than 50 inter and intra-city roads most of them complete with covered side drains, walkways and street lights; primary and secondary schools have been reconstructed and furnished; healthcare centres have been built and renovated; 100 new buses have been acquired and running; thousands of youths have been employed.
The woeful failure of the PDP 0at the 2012 governorship and 2013 local government council elections must be seen as punishment for its misrule of the past.what two successive PDP governments could not do in 10 years while in power in the state. Rapfreak: Bayelsa monarch says Nigerians will regret if Jonathan is not re-elected
The Obanema of Opume Kingdom in Bayelsa State, King A. J. Turner has predicted that Nigerians will regret if they allow sentiments of tribe or religion lead them into voting out President Goodluck Jonathan in next February’s presidential election.
The monarch, who disclosed this yesterday while hosting a pro-democracy group, United Summit Friends Development Association (USFDA) in his Abuja residence, said, “Nigerians will regret if they chase President Goodluck Jonathan out of office. They should vote him in next month’s presidential election for continuity of development.
“But if they must chase Jonathan out of office, it shouldn’t be because of sentiments. It is quite a challenging time for Mr President and I will always support any cause that will promote President Jonathan’s re-election. I thank you for finding me worthy to be your grand patron. I can’t promise that I can take you to see Mr President at this time. If he returns as president, there will be enough time for you to see him so that he will thank you for your contributions. Every deed will be rewarded,” he said.
Earlier in his speech, the chairman of the central working committee of USFDA, Rt. Hon. Jerome Isangedighi, appreciated HRH Turner for the warm reception accorded the association notwithstanding his tight schedule.
He pointed out that USFDA in contributing to President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election would embark on grass-root campaign to the 774 local governments in the country to sensitize Nigerians on the need to return Jonathan as president in the February election.

Sports › Arteta And Debuchy Ruled Out For Three Months *new* by Rapfreak(op): 11:01pm On Jan 15, 2015 |
https://static.goal.com/818500/818562_hp.jpgThe Gunners pair have both had operations on their respective injuries and will each miss a significant period of the season, with Arsene Wenger confirming the news on Thursday By Icekid Arsenal have been dealt a double injury blow, as Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy have been ruled out for up to three months after both undergoing surgery. Arteta has not featured for Arsene Wenger's side since their Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on November 26, when he was replaced after 67 minutes. Various muscle injuries had kept him out of the first team, but Wenger has now revealed that the underlying problem was with the 32-year-old's ankle, which has now been operated on. However, Arteta is unlikely to feature until the final weeks of the season after the club confirmed a rehabilitation period of up to three months. "Mikel has had surgery which went well. I have just seen him, he is back with us at the training ground," Wenger told Arsenal's official website. "He had a limited mobility in his ankle and some persistent inflammation that had an impact on his calf. "That meant we had to make the decision to have surgery and it's a proper solution which gives him the best chance to recover." Meanwhile, Debuchy will also be a long-term absentee after undergoing an operation on his right shoulder, having dislocated it against Stoke City on Sunday. The French defender suffered the setback after falling badly following a challenge with Marko Arnautovic in the early stages of Arsenal's 3-0 win at the Emirates. "Mathieu had a surgery on his right shoulder following the injury on Sunday," Wenger added. "It's very unfortunate for Mathieu, it's unbelievable because he's had two surgeries in the same season. "He just came back, he played seven games and he's out again. I count three months out for Mathieu because contact will be a problem for the shoulder." Sports › A Goalkeeper Will Never Win The Ballon D’or – Do You Agree? by Rapfreak(op): 10:47pm On Jan 15, 2015 |
A goalkeeper will never win the Ballon d’Or – Weidenfeller The veteran has seen two German keepers miss out on the prize during his career and as a result doubts whether a No.1 will ever be named the world’s best player by icekid Dah Wapmasterhttps://static.goal.com/736800/736882_hp.jpgRoman Weidenfeller has written off the prospect of a goalkeeper ever winning the Ballon d’Or after Manuel Neuer’s failed bid to win the award on Monday. Cristiano Ronaldo won the trophy for a third time, with Lionel Messi in second place and Neuer in third. The Germany goalkeeper won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich before lifting the World Cup with Germany and was praised for his ability with the ball at his feet as much as his hands. Neuer has often become an 11th outfield player for club and country in games by operating in a sweeper-style fashion further up the pitch. But despite all of his efforts it still wasn’t enough to win the Ballon d’Or and Borussia Dortmund keeper Weidenfeller fears the men between the posts will never receive the recognition they deserve. “Oliver Kahn has tried, Manuel has tried. If these goalkeepers were so close and didn’t manage to win then maybe it will never happen. “I am sorry for Manuel. He has performed exceptionally. As a goalkeeper you don’t have the same standing, especially when it comes to players like Cristiano Ronaldo who is a brand. He probably had no chance.” Weidenfeller has endured disappointment of his own over the past 12 months after losing his place in the Dortmund side before Christmas following their disastrous start to the campaign. Deputy keeper Mitch Langerak was preferred by coach Jurgen Klopp, but the veteran says he has put his struggles behind him and is focusing on the future. “It was a difficult situation, which I accepted sportingly. Now we begin a new year and we all want to look forward together. To deal with the past would be a mistake. “From my side everything is settled. If the coach wants to talk to me again I am of course always ready to talk. But we are in 2015 and should no longer talk about 2014.” Source www.SureNaija.com |
