Swedish DJ Avicii, who was one of the world’s biggest dance music stars and disk jockeys left his entire £20million fortune to his parents. The World-famous DJ, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead in Muscat, Oman in April this year.


Following his death, his family revealed in an open letter that the 28-year-old ‘could not go on any longer and wanted peace’. Now, legal documents filed in his native Sweden have revealed he left his entire £20million fortune to his parents


The legal forms made public by the Swedish Tax Agency, revealed that the artist’s parents Klas Bergling and Anki Lidén are set to inherit their son’s wealth of 231million kronor (£20million, $25.5million).

Under Swedish law, the money will automatically be gifted to his parents since he was unmarried with no children and had not written a last will and testament at the time of his death, Swedish newspaper Expressen.se reported. He was also said to have had debts of 96.5million kronor (£8.42m) in the US and 841,330 kronor (£73,430) in Canada, which were paid before his parents inherited his estate.

Bergling died on 20 April 2018 near Muscat, Oman, at the age of 28. No cause of death was immediately given. On 21 April, the Omani police stated that there was “no criminal suspicion” or evidence of foul play in Bergling’s death. On 26 April, his family released an open letter stating:

“Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress. When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be able to be happy and to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness.


He could now not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight. Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you, The Tim Bergling Family”.

Former Manchester United star Michael Carrick stepped in to end Paul Pogba’s celebration after the sacking of Jose Mourinho, it has been revealed. Carrick also told the players that no one is bigger than the club. Pogba shouted: “He f***ed with the wrong baller” at the Carrington training ground on Tuesday morning. But Carrick, appointed by Mourinho to his coaching staff last summer and then put in temporary charge for 48 hours after the Portuguese’s sacking, was not prepared to stand aside and watch players dance on the dumped manager’s grave.

So, in astonishing scenes, Carrick, a Champions League winner in 2008, told the players that the club was bigger than any one player or any manager. In a no-nonsense message he also reminded them that the club would still get rid of anyone who is not going to meet its standards and that they needed to fight for the United shirt. Carrick’s message still did not dampen the heightened spirits among the players at the news that Mourinho had gone.



Pogba led those celebrations saying: “He thought he could make a fool of me and turn the fans against me. He f***ed with the wrong baller.” Pogba had also posted a picture on his Instagram account of him smirking after the news of Mourinho’s departure entitled “caption this”. Gary Neville responded on Twitter saying: “Caption this. You do one as well!”

Pogba took down the post and his team tried to claim it had just been a coincidence in timing, something Neville later described on TV as “garbage”. Mourinho did not address the players after his sacking but did thank his coaching staff before leaving Carrington. Speaking at the inauguration of the League of Anambra Professionals Legal Defence Initiative, held in Lagos over the weekend, Falana said the real reason former President Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat in 2015 was because of the arrest and prosecution warning issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) ahead of the elections.

For the first time since World War II, Japan is seeking aircraft carriers to counter what it says is a growing threat from China. Tokyo also wants to purchase over 100 F-35s as part of a staggering $242-billion defense plan.


Japan will spend the hefty sum on top-notch equipment between now and 2024, according to a record five-year military budget approved on Tuesday. The spending plan includes the acquisition of two aircraft carriers capable of launching fighter jets.

The ships will not be built from scratch, and will instead be converted from a pair of flat-top Izumo-class helicopter carriers that are currently operated by the Japanese Navy. The 27,000-ton vessels, named after old Japan’s Izumo province, is the largest in the Navy’s inventory.

It has neither a ski-jump nor a catapult, but has the potential to accommodate fixed-wing aircraft that are capable of short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) operations. The F-35B is apparently the only candidate to fulfil this role, and the hefty Japanese defense budget also includes buying 42 such fighters over the coming decade.

The new ships and fighter jets are set to “increase operational flexibility” for the military in terms of protecting remote Japanese islands in southern waters, a defense official told AFP. “We have a very, very small [military] footprint” in the area between Okinawa and Taiwan, he said.

However, it would be wrong to believe that the upgrades will turn the Izumo-class vessels into “full-fledged aircraft carriers,” the official said. “We are not creating carrier air wings or carrier air squadrons” like the US Navy, he explained, adding that the incoming F-35s would be stationed at existing ground facilities rather than on the ships.

A 49-year-old Chinese man was working the night shift at a factory when, without warning, a machine malfunctioned, crushing him under a mechanical arm and impaling him on ten spikes; a certain death, or so his colleagues thought.
The porcelain factory worker, known by the surname Zhou, was rushed to hospital in Zhuzhou, southern Hunan Province, last Tuesday by his horrified and desperate colleagues who were powerless to remove the 10 steel spikes which measured 30cm (12 inches) long and 1.5cm (0.6 inches) thick. He was in extreme distress and unable to move his right hand.
One spike penetrated just 0.1mm from the man’s subclavian artery and its accompanying vein which, if severed, would almost certainly have killed him.

Of the ten spikes, six of them pierced his right shoulder and chest while the remaining four penetrated his right forearm and wrist. After an initial examination, he was transferred to the Xiangya Hospital of Central South University which specialises in complicated surgery.
