A Local Government staff in Kabba told YeyeNews.com reporter that the governor’s performance in Kogi State does not leave much to be desired to warrant becoming the next president. The worker lamented the pathetic welfare condition of LG workers under Yahaya Bello. “Since he became governor we have been receiving less than one third of our salaries. Some of my colleagues even get as low as N7500 per month as salaries after all the unexplained deductions. And his thugs are always on standby to swoop on anyone that try to protest. How would anyone expect me to support a man like that to become president”.

The Delta State government has pledged to provide one million youths of the State with tricycle, popularly called Keke before the end of June 2022. The Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor made the pledge during the launching of a Keke manufacturing facility in Asaba. He said the governor approved the establishment of the Keke manufacturing company in the State to facilitate the achievement of what he called the “Million for Million” programme, a name that encapsulates the governor’s vision to provide the one million Keke for one million youths in the State.



Also speaking during the ceremony, the DG of the Delta State Investment Development Agency (DIDA) commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his determination to transform Delta State to a model Keke transportation hub in Nigeria. “Many Delta State youths are now gainfully employed as Keke riders thereby drastically reducing the crime rate in our cities. Warri, which is our major city has experienced a smooth transition from being called an oil city to become a ‘Keke city’ as the city is now adjudged to have the largest concentration of Keke riders anywhere in the country. This is just one of the numerous economic miracles that Governor Okowa has delivered to Deltans. With the planned million for million programme of the governor, Delta State would be strategically placed as the center of excellence of Keke operations in the country”, the DG of DIDA declared.

Cows have occupied an office building in the Nigerian city of Gboko in Benue State as the herders in charge of the cows claimed that the building was standing on a route they had used for many years in their grazing expeditions between Nigeria and Mauritania, a source who witnessed the event told YeyeNews.com.



According to the source as he narrated to YeyeNews.com, “the cows must have broken into the building at night. We couldn’t access the building in the morning when we came for the day’s work as the cows were already inside. All attempts to expel them have so far proved abortive. However, the herders who arrived the scene few hours later said they allowed the cows to travel ahead since they are familiar with the route but didn’t know a building is now standing along the path, though they didn’t see anything untoward in the cows occupying the building”.

Members of Breaking Yoke Assembly Church (BYAC) in Sapele have been banned from using any currency denomination less than N500 for offering. The pastor of the church made the declaration during the Sunday service at the church’s ultra-modern auditorium, a source told YeyeNews.com reporter.



“The senior pastor of BYAC has placed a ban on the use of money below N500 for offering in the church. He cited the rising inflation and the loss in value of the naira as the reasons for the ban. The pastor told members that the church is not a place to drop useless notes”, the source recounted.

A junior pastor in the church confirmed the ban to a YeyeNews.com reporter. He explained that the God of the Breaking Yoke Assembly Church is not one that accepts N200 offerings and that “our God instructed members to only use N1000 and above as offerings. But the senior pastor was able to bring it down to N500 after days of intercession. You should understand that we don’t worship a poor God in BYAC. He provides for us daily so he deserves the best offering in return. The pastor has already set up a compliance committee to screen members’ offerings before they are put into the offering box”, the pastor explained.

A top Nigerian politician being prosecuted by the EFCC for corruption-related charges has been appointed as the chairman of a presidential committee charged with instituting anti corruption measures in government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs). The politician who recently defected to the ruling APC is believed to enjoy the protection of an influential minister in the government, a source told YeyeNews.com reporter.



Other sources in the EFCC said the commission is frustrated by the overbearing influence of powerful officials in the corridor of power. “In a case like this where the commission had expended enormous resources to gather enough evidence to begin prosecution against the politician and somebody just suddenly appointment the same individual into a committee to mitigate corruption is very depressing for our agents. The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has said that traveling to eighty-two countries by the president is part of the achievements of the administration. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said this during a press briefing in the State House Abuja.

“The achievements of this administration in the last six years is not something that can be denied even by our worst critics. President Buhari has traveled to over 82 countries. No president in the history of Nigeria has achieved that. Our target is for him to visit all the 195 UN member countries before 2023. That will definitely be an unprecedented accomplishment.
