The Nigeria Police Force said on Friday that a former Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, and an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Joseph Mbu, is still in service since his redeployment to Plateau State. The Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole, stated this following the claim by some activists that Mbu’s quietness betrayed his controversial bearing, wondering if he was still in the Force. She said in a text message on the inquiry, ‘‘He is still with the Force; posted to the Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State, as Commandant.’’ Read more from RAW GLOBAL NEWS via www.rawglobalnews.com/news/mbu-still-in-service-police/ |
President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that he would name his ministers this month. This is good news, especially for those who think the President’s pace is slow because he doesn’t have a cabinet in place. But in appointing a minister of education, the President should be painstaking. He should adopt a business approach because education is real business; and we can’t go forward as a nation until we treat it as such. If the President is able to fix education, Nigeria is likely to move forward at a faster pace than what obtains now. Education is central to our overall growth. The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers on Friday said petroleum tankers were not affected by the Lagos State Government daytime operational restriction. Southwest Chairman of the union, Mr. Tokunbo Korodo, told the RAW GLOBAL NEWS in Lagos that “the ban had nothing to do with petroleum tankers.” Korodo, who said petroleum tankers were not captured by the law, added that they could deliver products to any destination any time. “We are aware of this directive by the LASG but the law did not restrict our trucks. “Tanker drivers can move at any time to deliver its products; we are not affected by the traffic law. “You can see that our tankers are working all round the clock to lift petroleum products and deliver at designated filling stations nationwide,” he said. He, however, said the ban was to reduce incessant accident caused by articulated vehicles on Lagos roads.
