People will tell you to go Advertising Practitioners Council Of Nigeria (APCON) to get trained and licensed. But I will ask you, do you have a passion for it? And not just the impression of getting big bucks there.

First develop a passion for the following:

Sales
Marketing
Writing (as well as copy writing)
Creative Thinking (and art)
And most importantly, Branding.

Books can help you out on the above.
