Otondo-like naivety is an understatement. Freshers are so ffucking annoying with they way they act all scared and stuff.. jeeez.. suffer and hardship don really rewire young Nigerians mentality for the worst. If I begin to narrate different annoying traits I saw freshers like myself exhibiting all in the name of fear,you go provoke.

I and my clearance officer were gisting like mates when I got up there while others were just acting mushy mushy.. Na those red cross students wey dey form for auditorium me just dey look. Make I reach there next week,make anyone try block me first,the person go tell me if im papa na VC or im mama na Buhari mistress.

hahahahahah!!! no create scene o.. this trend will continue. when classes start, you will see suited men thronging in to milk freshers to nothingness. they will come with materials not relevant to one's course of study. some naive and immature freshers will buy everything In sight because those touts in suit will be so convincing for anyone to nurse any modicum of doubt.

Imagine someone coming to sell books on how to pass a job interview to students in 100level. Now tell me, how necessary is such book to a newbie in the university. let them brace up! na me go report some thieves!

You be correct guy. Ive figured the best way to deal with people who are feared by many is not yo fear them at all and be confident.

My own get better K-leg cos na 2sittings I use. There is a 99% chance of them telling me to go correct it(another wicked long process) but I just want them to say it so I can finally rest. I don't like the suspense.

You just have to be optimistic. don't allow the rigmarole torpedo what you are here for. Anyhow it pans out, you will be on skylines in the end.
As for the grrrl I told you about, I no fear her at all. my eyes were locked with hers as I talked. I didn't show that annoying and "Otondo-like" naivety some freshers put on. As we sat in wait to be called up, a guy walked up to me and wanted to hoodwink me with one lab-coat stuff. I told him i wouldn't need it now as I had more pressing needs to spend on. with the way I talked to him, he looked at me and asked "are you a fresher?" I replied "yes". he never returned.

Being new here shouldn't be a leeway for some people to cast their hooks. I can't be baited.

All is well. they can't change anything in one's WAEC result. they may change your post ume name to tally with that on one's WAEC. one of the clearance officers in my faculty looks like a grrrl. many develop cold feet when standing before her. I walked up to her on Friday and told her to attend to us as they were through with JUPEB candidates. she looked at me in a stern manner and asked "o ma laya (meaning, you've got guts). after seconds of fixed eyes on me, she ordered me to call the next 5 persons to come clear.
If I hadn't gone, na so we for just dey wait o..

Small errors are within the corrective compass of the clearance officers. gargantuan errors like discrepancies in dates of birth on WAEC Certificates, especially for those using two sittngs are the ones subjected to the gavel of the Senate. the highest law-making body! an assembly of pot-bellied, rotund-cheeked and wicked men.. ah

Senate?so soon? are you sure? Senate don't come into play anyhow. only when the issue is very critical. And it takes ample time for them to finalise issues and give verdicts as evidenced in the yet-to-be-approved results of some students. I don't pray for anybody's issue to rest on Senate's table. no! Senate is the supreme Court of Uniben.

I just laugh deep down and iam like the question they should be asking is "how many people have cleared on the same day as stated on their clearance invitation slip"?

I finally,against all odds appeared before my clearance officer on Thursday,filled correction form and submitted the next day which was the friday before yesterday. One week and counting,iam yet to see changes on my kofa page,neither have i seen any instruction to follow.

I will advise you keep pestering them by regularly visiting auditorium. If you keep checking and hoping, they might not do anything. what's the issue that warranted your filling of correction form? sometimes, the severity of the mistake is a pivotal determinant of when one will get cleared.

When people say "some people sleep at the auditorium",you shouldn't take it in its literal form but rather as a metaphor that hammers on the fact that some people,wizards as we call them,can be seen at the gate waiting for the auditorium to be open as early as 3am..

E get some kain figure of speech wey only some people wey clearance kpalava don frustrate(like myself) fit understand at first glance. If clearance na prison,I suppose be Capone base on how I take suffer both physically and psychologically before I fit see my clearance officer. I wan write best seller sef on my clearance experience so far and mind you,I aint even through with the clearance process.

Uniben clearance officers,esp that of engineering,I throwaway nyash give una. E no easy to frustrate lives like una do some of us. It takes a level careful planning,will power and Adolf hitlerness to achieve such.

hahahah.. thank you. I perfectly understand the literal and grammatical light of that post. The invitation letter is as useless as a piece of paper good enough to clean the bowels after defecation. At first, one would beam with hopes of being cleared instantly when one sees the date and day of invitation. only to get to the venue and be subjected to endless wait that drains one's energy and aches the head in chronic tolling decibels.
I arrived this week and only waited in vain yesterday. classes start on Monday as clearance continues! Those who haven't cleared will have to make-do with attending classes and going for clearance. well, I will be cleared on Monday without any hitch. What's keeping you uncleared? haven't you appeared before the officers ever since then?
