That same man had to drop all His glory to becom one of us...
When Peter confessed He was Christ, he told him that "the secret was revealed to him by His Father" When He was transfigured, God spoke from heaven "This is my beloved Son..hear ye Him"
All these steps were taken just to remind of His glory....
And finally He said "Father into thy hands I commit my Spirit!...it Is Finished!"
Meaning..I've done all I have to do...
So that when he resurrected, He didn't allow Mary touch Him..because He was now 'glorified' He was now changed! He was no longer 'ordinary'
Jesus was an 'ordinary' man..during his ministry on earth!
lol Let's not just keep posting and posting for the sake of it. You agree he is a deity, and now you say he is ordinary, By sound logic, IS A DEITY ORDINARY? The ordinary we are talking about is not just him being in the flesh alone, He was equipped, he was sent! From his birth to his death, all that transpired were not everyday ordinary events we see. Have you ever seen a man since you were born who came into this world without the sexual intercourse of a man and woman leading to him/her holding life? and please, Let's buttress our points with appropriate quotes from the Bible. your point that no one touched him after his resurrection is wrong and unfounded. read the below keenly. Matthew 28 vs 9..."And as they went to tell his disciples, Behold, Jesus met them, saying, all hail. And they came and HELD his feet, and worshipped him".KJV. even after his resurrection, he feet was touched. sir, The lord Jesus was sent from heaven, he might have been and done things in the flesh, but he was not an ordinary man. |

Elijah had the power to command Fire from Heaven, Elisha's dead bones rose someone from the grave, Daniel spoke about things that would happen in the future (some haven't even occured yet)...would we say they were God?
Why did Jesus even need to pray since he was God? Because he became an ordinary man and as such, he needed to ask like everyone else... Now that the Holy Spirit has been given, more 'Genuine' miracles have happened and God has used more Men and Women to wrought them...so are they Deified now?
The whole plan was for Christ to Redeem us through his sufferings...he was to be like us, to feel as we feel, and like Cece Winans said; don't ever for a moment think He never felt the pains.. I am building my point from the consensus that he was a deity. and not only deities can heal the sick and crippled. Elijah and the rest you mentioned were empowered by God, that doesn't mean they were God. but here, We were told in Philippians 2 vs 6 that he was GOD. he passed through those pains and tortures because he was fulfilling destiny. It has been destined to be so from ecclesiastical times! from time immemorial! it had been prophesied in Isaiah 9 vs 6. This is a man whose Reign had been prophesied years before he was born! |

hehe...thank God everyone can read my statement. Lemme reiterate; "From the time Moses saw the Burning bush to the time he struck the rock (40 years) he was sINLESS! #fact! Moses lived for 120 years, if he didn't sin for 40 years of his life, that doesn't mean he didn't sin for the remaining 80 years? The fact remains that he still sinned! whether it was before the incidents at the burning bush or after, You agreed with me that he disobeyed God. that's the Terminus! |

RobinHez: ordinary - /ˈɔːdɪn(ə)ri,-d(ə)n-/ adjective 1. with no special or distinctive features; normal.
"For in Him was no comeliness that we would desire of Him when we see Him.."
Broda, I'm not denying Jesus's Deity...I'm only saying Jesus had to become like every other normal man... Let's get this straight! by ordinary, you mean normal and with no special distinctive features as highlighted in the definition above. Now, If You agree Agree He was a deity, IS A DEITY ORDINARY ? a deity is a God. is a God ordinary? A God possesses supernatural features that are not resident in mere men. Oh! I guess you pillared your stance on the fact that Christ didn't Show those voodoo sorcery and abracadabra! do you know that Jesus Had the power to do anything as a man but mellowed down because he didn't want people to see him purely as God even though he was. when Judas betrayed him by kissing him, Peter moved forward and cut off the ear of one of Jesus Buyers(John 18 vs 11), Then Jesus said, "Think ye not that I able to command thousands of angels now to destroy these people?" he had the power, But because he was in human form, was bent on fulfilling his destiny by dying on the Cross. he healed the sick, raised the dead, healed the dumb, the blind, the crippled, God gave him powers! he was not ordinary!. |

ah! When God threatened to wipe the children of Israel from the face of the earth, what would we have called that?
Moses was tired of making atonement for them...
Lemme give u a scenario..no offence to all.
Venus lectured the thread on their treatment of Blueto...while she was replying mentions she got from that, Blueto was busy ingniting another fire with Pukka then Venus said "u sef e don do now..ah!"
Shey u get? That's what Moses did...but he dishonoured God in what he did, and he suffered for it..
But I won't personally blame him...if na some of us, from the first day that those stiffnecked people murmured, we for don command fire to consume all of them... You still arrived at my Point. he dishonoured God. He sinned. whether he was coerced or tempted, Or Tested, The terminus remains that he sinned, which is a form of disobedience! so, Your Projection that he was sinless holds no water sir. Moses sinned and it caused him A golden reward! he missed the promised land. QED. |

Reason why I said Paul was more daring...look at what he said...
"...was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered."
meaning...He attained total perfection when he Died! Meaning he was an 'ordinary man' till his resurrection!
Twas after his ressurection "He began to APPEAR to many (Appear as in disappear and appear like spirit )
Notice how He always warned His disciples not to make mention of His divinity till His resurrection...
When one even called Him good, he said "why call Me good?...None is good save God"
Sending Jesus to become an 'Ordinary Man' was part of God's redemption plan!
Adam caused us to Sin Jesus caused us to be redeemed Let's start from his birth, Was he born like an ordinary man? (A product of an invisible entity dwelling in a virgin without any sexual intercourse with a man) where In the tome of history has any mortal been born that way? If he was an ordinary man, he would have been born like every other human by coi.tus. look at this eye-opening quotation "Colossians 2 vs 9" ...."For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily". If you Agree that Jesus Is God, then why hold a divergent position that he is ordinary? Will you call A man that Is inhabited by God ordinary? He is a second member of then tripartite entity, the Trinity! that alone Makes him extraordinary. |

lol...u said "moses lived without sin?" And I proved that to u...I proved that a man can live without sin. I never claimed he didn't disobey God...but did you bother checking what happened to the children of Israel for what they made Moses do? hahahah. sir, the first three lines of your post regaled me To high heavens. is DISOBEDIENCE not sin? every form of unrighteousness is Disobedience. The children of Israel didnt irk Moses into clobbering the rock, he did that in anger. Let's not deviate from the Epicenter of this debate. we can lock horns on the holiness of Moses later. for now, Christ was not an ordinary human. |

No one can see God...but He saw part of God's glory! A man saw God's back part..A man communing with God like he would his fellow man, A man who offered himself as a sacrifice for his people (he said, if u will destroy them, then blot my name from the book of life) a man who was known as the meekest man on earth...A man who was buried by God Himself.. Ah! Thank u Lord!!
lol. Brother, how come you didn't debunk or counter my Argument;? You ended up extolling Moses To the acme of Perfection . hehe...think about that phrase "He was God" "In the Flesh"
Two different things. The 1st reminding us of His Status as God...the second telling us that this time, he's in the flesh: he's man: the Son of Man! God himself is a spirit, He cannot dwell among humans of flesh and blood as a spirit, that sole fact precipitated the need for A holy body he could Live in and dwell among human beings. This necessitated the Sacred birth of Jesus. Jesus was in the flesh but with God's spirit dwelling in him, making him possess the Godly attributes like sanctity to be equal with God . "Philippians 2 vs 6 - ' Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God". Bro, Jesus was not a mere man. He was divinely Sent ! |

RobinHez:
True! What if I say he had to go through that birth process as a sign of His Holiness making Him that Lamb without blemish.. I.e. So he won't be born a sinner as all those born of Man and Woman?
What happened at the cross? His Father turned his back on Him because He can't behold sin...and Jesus at that point was carrying the Sins of the World! An HOLY SPIRIT can't be with sin u knw..
And yes! An ordinary man can live without sin Moses did, Abraham did... God says "walk before ME and be thou PERFECT"
The only thing is, none is born sin-free..but one can attain a sinless state. Moses lived without sin? where did you get that from? the same Moses that disobeyed God by striking the rock in anger instead of speaking to it? which caused him the promised land? (Numbers 20) DISOBEDIENCE is sin. Christ was sent! His birth had been foretold for aeons by prophet ISAIAH in Isaiah 9 vs 6. Christ going through a sacred birth tells that he was not an ordinary man, he was sent, He is GOD in the flesh and the second member of the Godhead. an ordinary man wouldn't be born by such Sacrosanct Way that stunned and awed the world of science. Christ was more than an ordinary man. |

for the number of years Jesus spent on earth, He was an ordinary man!
There were only 2 exceptions: when he was Transfigured and when he rose from the grave! Was he born like an ordinary man will be born? where has it gone deep in the shelves of history that a man was born without the Biological coit.us or sexual intercourse of a man and woman? Jesus was not ordinary, from his birth (born of the holy spirit) to his death, divinity orchestrated those two phases. I will agree with you if you said he "lived" and did some things ordinary men would do. in 1 Peter 1 vs 19...."But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without BLEMISH and without spot". in other words, he was without sin. can an ordinary be without sin? |
