In my 1st degree in Applied Statistics, I was challenging some of the analytical formula used in comparative analysis of 'AGE HEAPING" in demographic census figures. Unfortunately, my supervisor, a renowned Professor of Mathematics and Statistician was discouraging me. I could recollect vividly, that he was always asking that I should leave all critical and analytical research for my PHD. I felt frustrated. I personally saw loopholes in the "Ramachandrans index for age heaping" and I was at the verge of designing a better index.

Methinks, environment and societies go a long way in affecting our desire to excel in our chosen field of endeavors.
