You are getting it right. Let me make clear differences between Greenhouse and Open Field.

GH - Greenhouse
OF - Open Field

1. GH - Vertical farming. OF - Horizontal and Less Vertical

2. GH - Harvest weekly. Constant easy supply of market OF- Staggered production to achieve continuous or just one season production. Can be very tedious.

3. GH - Income comes in steadily, consistently, gradually and easy. OF - Money flows in periodically. To be rich, you must open a big field and earn a lot at once. Then rest, return to farm later.

4. GH - Gradually penetration of more "premium" markets with ease. OF - Liason with market agents who collect sales percentage is the easy way out to sell in bulk. Payment of some other fees might be necesary.

5..GH - You can open your own market by selling directly to neighbors. Of course, it is possible. May not be at the initial stage but at later stage of production.
OF - Must sell in bulk to retailers. Retailers are notorious for pranks. It may pay you off just to let a sales agent in the market handle it and pay him/her commission.

When you put these five points together, you will know who to target when doing greenhouse or open field. You might need your personal vehicle to move to many places to sell your GH products. But at first, you may find it hard.

You cannot know how the greenhouse sales is until after you have started. Why? You need the products to test many markets. You must have your tomatoes, capsicum, cabbage, lettuce, strawberry ready to do more exploits. Without having samples, you are still dreaming

Recommendation:
Get a big land when doing nethouse. Do not just buy a small land. Get your nethouse set but also do open field. Do crops like cucumber, lettuces, raddish that you can easily sell and earn fast cash on open field too. Do very fast crops where you can easily go to market withim 30 to 40 days. Keep going with this while you keep marketing your greenhouse products. You may even decide to open your own retail store near rich people. With this strategy you will buy enough time to get your market right. As soon as you start getting your GH market right, start reducing your open field activities and get more GHs. If God has blessed you with extra cash, there is nothing wrong in buying 10 nethouses at once but set up one if you do not have the market yet. When you start getting it right, set the rest up. From my experience, it gets easier as you move along the business. But when you keep nagging that greenhouse is too expensive, you will stay in one place. [/quote]
