AderonkeOlaniyi: Poverty is a phenomenon that destroys the mind. Looking at the comments here will tell you what poverty has done to the average Nigerian.
A man who monopolized many markets through political connections, not to bring succour to the people but to impoverish them is being praised for that by same people. I am just reading the comments and laughing my ass off. At least the average American understands that Elon Musk is super wealthy today thanks to the graces of a corrupt US government - but you see the national IQ on this side of the globe ehn, It ain't worth shii. Little wonder Emilokan spends a miserly 7% of the budget on education |

Politics › Re: Remi Tinubu Donates ₦2 Billion To Boost Akwete Fabric Production In Abia (Video) by Rayjay45: 6:25am On Jul 22 |
lionshare: That's the problem with our society. Middlemen will siphon away most of the money, with very little actually reaching the people the funds are intended to help. The same thing can be seen across many charities operating in the Northeast. A well-intended approach is to go directly to the people in need of these resources but our so-called philanthropists will never do that for obvious reasons. Everyone knows what they're doing o, even the First Lady. |

It's what autocratic regimes do.
They go straight for the courts and weaken any system that's built to checkmate them.
Yes, these corrupt judges will enjoy the money, but what they've lost is integrity and the people's love and respect.
For their miserable lives, I do hope the money at least is worth it. |

destinytreasure: Expectations will be high. Success will depend on whether ECOWAS can find practical solutions to the region's security and governance challenges while restoring confidence among member states. If Faye can promote dialogue and foster cooperation, his tenure could help strengthen the bloc's relevance and effectiveness during a critical period for West Africa. Yeah, maybe dialogue between corrupt leaders, who only know how to rob their nations blind, could help solve all of West Africa's issues. |
Politics › Re: Why Hasn't The Nigerian Government Banned Religious Activities Blocking Traffic? by Rayjay45: 6:29am On Jul 20 |
louqas: It's mainly Friday Prayers that some mosques close to a main road temporarily block a part of the road to accommodate worshippers who couldn't find a space within the mosque compound It usually lasts less than 30 minutes and it isn't total blocking of road.
The one that needs to stop is people blocking road for burial or naming ceremonies as that can be done in a hall or field no need to block road for that Taqqiyah in play here. Last time I ended up spending 3 hours on Ojo Road for a 2km journey, na because of this madness. |
