Ironfaceman: Hmm!! this will be a tough pill to swallow. It was because of the massive crowd in VI that Abuja embassy was Opened.
The funny thing is that only the commoners like those nairalanders who love to lick trumps ars will suffer.
Most politicians have slots and take advantage of it. Seyi Tinubu will never queue, all he does is DHL his passport and embassy will DHL back to him with visa.
But those nairaland ass slickers Wil go and sleep on Victoria Island culverts just to meet up the appointment for an elusive visa. At least they know their place in the world. They are the kin papa no child should ever be proud of. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Guardiola & Ancelotti Reject Italian Head Coach Role; Pirlo To Be Announced by Rayjay45: 7:19am On Jul 25 |
DaGC: Never said I didn't make the team. We hardly encourage grassroots sports like way before when we had lots of tourneys. During my time, we were stuck playing our selves in teams at school, or if we can sponsor it, we would either invite another school or go play there against them. Not much support was given to us. Still one of the reasons a lot of football talent is been lost in this country. But knowing what we know now, we probably would have gone to the nearest LGA secretariat to plead our case. Our teenage minds didn't think of this.
Inter house and school athletics competition on the other hand, we had that like 4 times in my 6 years in secondary school. Thanks for sharing. This was a good read. |

DaGC: Got mad love for this man. As a young man in school den, I modelled my game towards him. Not too fast to quickly expend energy, not too flashy but extremely effective dribble, passing range that was like MTN 'everywhere you go' and an amazing set piece.
Well, I tried my best but could only be good (not great) at about half of those attributes.
Wish him well with the Azzurri. 👍🏿 Wow, you had all that and still did not make the school team! Must have been idiots handling your school team |

nairalanda1: At the end of the day, not paying a cost reflective tarrif is where we are where we are. You don't have to like it , but it is what it is.
We paid cost reflective tarrifs for gsm companies, and people complained all day long. At the end it attracted enough investment to make it possible that even the poor could make telephone calls. Something not possible 40 years ago
Mocking me doesn't change the facts. The days of paying for darkness are over. Smell the coffee, bro. Pack up the useless discos already, as we are all soon going to leave that dakudaji grid. Even your president don go solar, so what the heck! These lots serve no one but themselves. |
Politics › Re: FG Confirms Plan To Scrap Power Subsidy Across Nigeria by Rayjay45: 12:17pm On Jul 23 |
nairalanda1: Then you should not expect 24 hours a day light. It is that simple.
Nigeria needs 12 billion dollars annually in investment for 24 hours light. Or 16.5 trillion naira yearly in other words. That's a lot of money. And that provides light for those on the gird, to expand it to everyone it needs far far more, and to maintain it, na cost reflective tarrif.
Lord knows, I wish I was lying or being sarcastic. Do not worry your pretty head about that. It's not like anyone, as it is, is enjoying uninterrupted power supply in Nigeria. My parents have solar now. Everywhere is cool |
Politics › Re: FG Confirms Plan To Scrap Power Subsidy Across Nigeria by Rayjay45: 11:55am On Jul 23 |
nairalanda1: Amen to that, but even then, we need to pay cost reflective tarrifs on power.
This April , the power sector made 206 billion naira from bills on consumer. The gas bill for the same month was 195 billion naira. GAS bill alone for the power stations.
See why we need a cost reflective tarrif? People are spending over 70% of their income on just food and you are talking about jacking up electricity prices? Good luck with getting them to pay. |
