This is to inform the entire
students that the process of
allocating students into the
available bed spaces in the halls
of residence for the 2011/2012
academic session has started.
Interested students are therefore
enjoined to pay the sum of N500
only to the Cash Office at the
Bursary and thereby use the
payment receipt to collect the
halls of residence form at the
Student Affairs Office.

The minister of Labour and
Productivity, Chukwuemeka
Wogu, has raised hopes of
universities across the country
reopening in January. Briefing
journalists in Aba, Abia, on
Thursday, Mr Wogu said that
negotiations between the federal
government and the Academic
Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)
over the lingering industrial
dispute would be resolved soon.
He said the federal government
had been meeting with ASUU
since the strike commenced early
in the month, while promising
that by January, an agreement
would be reached. According to
him, getting the lecturers back to
the classrooms is the main
problem.
Wogu said the government was
looking critically and taking
holistic approach to the
contentious issues with a view to
resolving them.
“It is not that the government
has been keeping quiet since the
present strike began; we’ve been
meeting with representatives of
ASUU and hopefully, by January,
an agreement will be reached.
“But getting the lecturers back to
lecture rooms is the problem. We
want to look critically at those
things that led to the strike in the
first place to deal with them so
that they will not re-occur,” he

It's not a 90-day strike. It's indefinite that means it could even be a month or less.

2. If the total revenue function for a personal computer is f(x)=80x and the cost function is (x)=2x^2 + 30x +100. (i) what is the marginal profit function? (ii) what is the marginal profit if 6units are purchased and sold?.

3. If the total revenue for an electric iron is r(x)=36x-0.02x^2, where x is the number of units sold, what is the marginal revenue when 800units are sold?

4. Find the coordinate of the point on the curve y=f(x), where the gradient of the curve is zero. (i) f(x)=(x^2-2x+20)^20 (ii) f(x)=x^3-6x^2+12

5. Suppose the population of a certain micro-organism at time 't' is given by p=1000-1000(t+10)^-1, find the rate of change of the population.

6. Suppose that a company's sales volume y (in thousands of naira) is related to its advertising expenditure x (in thousands of naira) according to xy-20+10y=0. Find the rate of change of sales volume with respect to advertising expenditures when x=10 (thousand naira).

7. Ballister experts were able to identify the weapon that fired a certain bullet by studying the markings on the bullet. Test were conducted by firing into a bale of paper. If the dirtance (in inches) that the bullet travels into the paper is given by s=27-(3-10t)^3 for 0<1<0.3 seconds, find the velocity of the bullet 1/10 of a second after hitting the paper. THANKS.
