Pls avoid that mexico option as Immigration officers are strict with visitors who appear to be using a visit visa to live in Canada. Traveling to Mexico to reset your stay could lead to re-entry denial to canada as a visitor visa is not meant for residency. While Canadian visa holders may enter Mexico visa-free, Mexican authorities are known to deny entry to many Africans without a proper mexican visa becos majority of them are likely heading to usa illegally . It’s safer to apply for an extension from within Canada. But note The longer you stay on a visitor visa in canada , the harder it may be to get another visit visa or return to canada in the future, as it signals weak ties to your home country.

apart from the child being a Canadian, the child can only sponsor you to the a permanent residence when he/she is of age, you are entitled to child benefit etc, however as a last resort you could get permanent residence on humanitarian and compassionate ground ( not guaranteed)

I received a refusal mail from ircc on the 27th of July. Submitted application:-27th of February 2024. Biometrics=8th of March 2024. Refused Visa:-28th of July 2024. Purpose of travel:-Conference which will hold on the 24thof this August. Can someone please advise me on what next to do. I was invited as a speaker and I submitted all the necessary documents too
