At first one could easily conclude that its a virus issue. Then you said that the problem ceases to exist (temporarily) when you tap on the keyboard, at this point the story changes.

*First, scan your PC with a good antivirus, If you're using Windows OS, Windows Defender(Updated) does a good job. This might just be the way out.

*Keyboard issues can cause some weird behavior in your PC. So you want to try another keyboard if the above didn't work.
...and if the problem stops(permanently), don't forget to pay for and go home with the keyboard grin

If you've tried a roll back and still got no solution, you can go ahead and do a clean install of windows (Format).

Before then, I'd like you to consider this:
Un-install everything associated with the HUAWEI modem (in bold) in your computer.

Then install your new modem and see if it works.
You might nitbeven go through the stress of formatting.

Ok, let's get this straight.

If you just got the modem, the first best option is to go back to point of purchase and table your complaints. They will try another MODEM and try one or two things to help with the situation

Now, having said that, from your complaints, it appears your friends laptops connects quite well with the MODEM. Hence I would conclude that the issue is with your OS or the installed program for the MODEM. So,

1. Re-installing the Program software that came with the modem. But first be sure to completely remove the first program.

2. You can disable your Wi-Fi card( or network card). This rules out any conflict issues

3. And if you don't mind loosing some stuff, you may roll back your windows to a point where it worked normally. Usually a roll back solves minor issues like this.
