not the laptop, the hard disk casing, its damn hard to unsrew, basically unscrewable. The hard disk is good, I asked one repair guy to run diagnostics on it and he said it was functional, but unscrewing the casing hp put on it so I can put hard disk in the casing of the first laptop is my wahala

So not hesitate to get across if your budget is below the above mentioned.

It'll help if I know the type of graphics work.

If all you're gonna run is Corel Draw, Photoshop, AutoCAD +Revit, then the Dell Latitude E6440 will do just fine.

If you're not going to be heavy on running the above mentioned softwares, then the core i3 latitude 3550 on my other thread is OK.

Please is it really advisable that i should use drivers pack 17 ( online) to scan and drive my systems

Reasons am scared is that it normally installed some unwanted software to the system during drivers installation which might bring viruses

But if you tink it dangerous to run full scan wit drivers pack 17 online

1st of all, understand this: safety–online or offline rests totally in your hands.
So, you can take advantage of the "expert mode" feature before starting the whole process.

With that feature, you will be able to check what you want installed and un-check what you don't want installed.

Makes the whole process timely.

Good morning guys, this happened with a new laptop i just got(HP Gaming Pavilion 15)
First time turning on the laptop to set up the windows the keyboard and touchpad wasn't working but i was able it set it up with my wireless mouse and on-screen keyboard after getting to desktop i was able to restart and both worked well after the restart. The following day my touchpad stops working at random, sometimes when I boot up, it doesn't work until i restart the laptop. sometimes when the laptop goes to sleep due to inactivity, by the time i try using it won't work. I've tried suggested solutions online like updating drivers, disabling and enabling, uninstalling and reinstalling the app drivers. Same problem still persist. I have even tried resetting my windows os. Any ideas

1. Laptop works.

2. Trackpad refuses to function until system is restarted

3. System refuses to come out of Hibernation.

... Now, you've tried re-installing the drivers and Apps yet 2 & 3 persist.

>>You will need to install a new operating system. Thus time , wiping all partitions thus leaving no traces of the former OS.

>> Now that the system has a clean OS, you will need to go to Hp site to download the required drivers.

There you will enter your systems serial number or model name.

Next you select your OS and the version.

You wait for the drivers to load.

Once loaded, you can pick from the list and install one after another.

To make it easier, you can use the hp drivers auto-detect feature. This completes the whole process automatically.

The issues should be resolved after this process.

OK so let me narrate an experience I had. I'm a bit of a techie, enjoy looking at things and trying to solve them. So I had an Asus laptop that was a an old warrior. Never ever let me down until one day it just failed to turn on, tried every trick in the book. Nothing. Had to shamefully carry it to Otigba to those "engineers". I say shamefully because I always bragged that those technicians will not see my money, at least not from Laptop. After the "engineer" did is thing, bàbà declared that motherboard is bad.

But I wasn't convinced. Mobo's don't die like that. I went in the Internet and Googled as much as I could. One person complained of similar problems and that when he replaced his CMOS his laptop came back to life. Quickly I "butchered" the laptop (after watching a detailed YouTube teardown video). Found the CMOS battery and Lo it was empty, VERY EMPTY! (Don't ask how I tested it to know ). Replaced the battery and lappy is doing fine now.

My point? Do your own research when you get these kind of problems. The solution may be smaller than you think.

I've NEVER heard of a mobo causing some keys not to work. This problem is consistent with a failing keyboard. If it's the mobo I'll expect the entire keyboard to fail

Another case is when you press a letter, say "P" and it returns "P0"; "L" Returning "L7" together...even after several keyboard have been tried.

Like you said; his might just be minor keyboard replacement!
