'I Never Said Military Should Reject Salary Increase'.

I wish to address a recent
report that falsely attributes a statement to me, suggesting that Nigerian soldiers should refuse any salary increments until after the elections. This assertion is entirely untrue.

My profound respect for our security forces, particularly the Nigerian Army personnel who diligently serve and protect our nation under challenging conditions, is unwavering. I have consistently advocated for the adequate provision of equipment, motivation, and protection for our security personnel.

My concern was palpable when soldiers were lost to insurgents due to a delayed rescue effort, prompting me to question how those defending us could be left vulnerable in their time of need.

Should I be elected President, the well-being, resources, safety, and honour of our soldiers will be a paramount priority. Those who ensure Nigeria's security must never be relegated to a secondary concern. Our soldiers are deserving of our utmost respect, unwavering support, and a government that will unequivocally stand by them. Under my leadership, scenarios where our servicemen and women are left unprotected in the face of peril will be eradicated.

I implore the Nigerian populace to dismiss this misleading report. I remain committed to articulating a clear and consistent vision for a secure and prosperous Nigeria. The realisation of a new and secure Nigeria is indeed POssible. -PO

Nigeria Approves Major Military Pay Raise Starting September 2026

President Bola Tinubu approved the

new salary structure effective September 1, 2026, raising the annual armed forces wage bill from #660 billion to #924 billion for about 250,000 personnel. Junior ranks like privates and staff sergeants see the largest increases, part of a broader defense overhaul including new equipment, expanded recruitment, and army growth to 12 divisions. Peter Obi denied false claims that he urged soldiers to reject the raise, reaffirming his support for better troop welfare and equipment amid ongoing security challenges.

Politics › Re: Osun Election: Muslim Scholars, Imams Endorse Oyebamiji by Readbooks(f): 10:40am On Aug 11
Representatives of the groups, AbdulGaniy Olaoye of Zumuratul Muhmineenah and Alfa Kamaldeen of Qodriyah, also endorsed Oyebamiji, saying their support was in solidarity with President Tinubu.

They pledged to mobilise voters across their communities in support of the APC candidate in the election.

Olaoye said the groups were supporting Oyebamiji because of his commitment to Islam and his previous contributions to the Muslim community.

"We follow someone who is dedicated to Islam, and he has been doing many things to support Islam in the past. That is why we are here, and we are rest assured that Munirudeen Oyebamiji will be victorious in the coming election,” he said
Politics › Re: ‘We Are Sorry’ Billboards Spotted In Abuja (Photos) by Readbooks(f): 10:14am On Aug 11
The billboards, which have appeared at different locations in the Federal Capital Territory, offer no immediate explanation about who is behind the campaign or what exactly the apology is about.

Their deliberately vague message has left many residents wondering whether the billboards are part of an upcoming advertising campaign, a political message or a publicity stunt.

Social media users have also joined the conversation, with some jokingly suggesting that the message could be a warning about something yet to happen.

One Facebook user, Odidi Micheal Osilamah, jokingly linked the message to possible government policies, writing: “The Federal government is about to UNLEASH MORE POVERTY…so the posted ‘WE ARE SORRY’ poster in advance to all residence…hmmm ProMaz shege loading.”

Another user, Ogbajie Ifeanyi Jude, simply asked: “Sorry for what’s coming or what? They should let us know.”

Apologies for all adverts on the boards that were brought down due to some reasons unexplained to the individuals..so shortly from I think political contents will be on them..Therefore the apologies simply means such order to pull out all previous adverts was from a place of more power no personal grudges or malicious intentions…
Wike or the government does not care if you sleep with an empty stomach or if u trek from Lagos to Abuja they owe u nothing to apologize for they don’t see if u not contributing to the financial well being of the state or country …so jokes on your data

Poverty is not a campaign strategy it’s a weapon, and Osun APC just proved they’ll use it. Handing out rice bags days to an election isn’t “empowerment,” it’s desperation dressed up as generosity.

Only APC would choose this route. Let them. Come Saturday, let it be free, fair and violence-free no shady tricks, no oaths, no rice for votes. On a level field, we beat them hands down.

For @AAdeleke_01 achievements

Don’t blame these rural, poverty-stricken people. There’s almost nothing you can tell someone who is genuinely hungry that will make them reject food. The only language a hungry man understands is, “Food is ready.” They have been trapped in a cycle where poverty has been weaponised against them. It’s truly heartbreaking.

Yeah,🇳🇬 Nigeria's electoral process and campaigns need a change, one that ensures campaigning doesn't look like bribery or influencing people in difficult life situations to vote for you due to what you gave out for the campaign.

“…Whether we like it or not, religion will play a role in this election. The Muslims are saying this is their time. They are not convinced that Adeleke is a practising Muslim. Bola Oyebamiji (@OyebamijiBola), on his part, has been more consistent. He has built 77 mosques, and he also built the CAN secretariats in Irewole LG, and he has built some churches too. He is a very popular candidate, and the (@OfficialAPCNg) are working harder than they did in the last election…” - Babajide Otitoju
