The past few weeks on social media has been riddled with the news of hip hop star Naira Marley’s arrest by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), especially after his court appearance.

In a recent development, the rapper is reported to have been involved in a robbery and sexual assault at the age of 19 and was declared wanted by Lewisham Police in London.

A report from five years ago, June 11, 2014 by News Shoppers, shows the rapper listed amongst other criminals who were wanted for sexual assault at the time.

In the report, they give Marley’s profile as “Azeez Fashola, 19, is wanted by police in connection with an incident in Surrey Canal Road, New Cross on March 5.”

Lessons Every Youth Should Learn From Naira Marley’s Case. It is no longer a news that Nigeria’s fast rising and controversial artiste, Naira Marley has been charged with 11 fraud cases by the EFCC. And has been remanded in Ikoyi Prison till 30th May, when his proceedings will continue. The raving act is risking 7years in prison if found guilty of this.

The whole thing started when Naira Marley said shared his opinion about Internet fraudsters (aka Yahoo Yahoo) on Instagram, “If you know about the history of slavery, you go know say, Yahoo no be crime“.

Contrary to a video circulating online which show Azeez Fashola better known as Naira Marley going into a private car and captions suggesting that he has been released, he is to be remanded in prison SaharaReporters can confirm.

A top source in the EFCC who spoke to SaharaReporters said the video was mere propaganda by friends of the musician who are desperate to launder his image.

At the court, SaharaReporters saw some friends of Naira Marley talking to journalists to write their story of the arraignment in favor of the musician.
The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday ordered that Nigeria singer be remanded in prison until May 30th when the hearing of his bail application will take place.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo presided over the arraignment. Naira Marley was charged to court at the behest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on 11 count charge bordering on cybercrime, possession of counterfeit cards and conspiracy to obtain gain.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has filed 11 fraud charges against singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.

The musician effectively risks seven years in jail if found guilty, as Section 33 (2) which he was accused of breaching, reads: “Any person who uses: a counterfeit access device; an unauthorised access device; an access device issued to another person; resulting in a loss or gain commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term of not more than seven years or a fine of not more than N5,000,000.00 and forfeiture of the advantage or value derived from his act.”

The charges with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 were filed before a Lagos State High Court.

Some of the credit cards, according to the EFCC, bore the names- Nicole Louise Malyon, and Timea Fedorne Tatar.

The alleged crimes were in contravention of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act and the Cyber Crimes Act, Punch reports.

The charges read in part, “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and Raze (still at large), on or about the 11th day of December 2018, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, conspired amongst yourselves to use access card 42658840359191132 issued to persons other than you in a bid to obtain gain and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 27(1)(b) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc) Act 2015 and punishable under Section 33(2) of the Same Act.

After Zlatan Ibile was released from custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), reports spread wide that Davido had a major role to play in his release as he hired a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to take up the case.

However, contrary to the earlier reports, a certain Instagram user known as Aremo Gucci has taken to his Instagram page to thrash the news as he reveals there was nothing like Davido hiring a lawyer for Zlatan.

He infact revealed the only artistes that made move for Zlatan were Olamide and Burna Boy. He said they were the only ones who didn’t hide behind their keypads and went out of their ways to make sure Zlatan gets freed.

He however urged everyone to disregard the news that has Davido has the messiah of Zlatan.
