I don't know about others but take this from me as someone who has been around influential and powerful people. Next time you see one.
Walk up to him confidently and with a smile on your face.
1. Greet him. If you've seen him somewhere state the occasion and say you felt overwhelmed with seeing him in public ( swells their head)

2. If he's holding groceries offer to carry it to his car if he agrees it means he's comfortable around you if he doesn't don't bother.

3. Ask him if he needs help locating anything say you are conversant with the place it doesn't matter if you are or aren't.

4. Most importantly people trust people better after a small talk more than they would if you show them a badge. Sounds crazy but it's true. So make sure your conversation is roughly 4 mins.

5. If you know where to meet him again don't ask for a contact. If you don't politely ask to meet and greet him again. End your request to see him with words like if possible.

Don't meet anyone on the streets and directly ask for a job! First it shows you are desperate and then it shows you have nothing to offer.

This has worked for me countless times. My two cents if you ask me.

@real1000 we have to be smart about how we look for work. The odds of getting a job by asking the DG of PEF in a supermarket are close to nil. MAYBE 0.0001% of job seekers got work that way. That doesn't mean it's a good strategy. Possible, yes; but extremely unlikely.

You're right, i type some long something like this yesterday but i cleared again. I know a director of one agency recruiting large number presently due to the nature of my job but he told me he can't do anything to help me, except i get through the recruitment process. This is a very prominent person, i have his contact, i have access to his office to see him but it doesn't stop our normal relationship. You lost nothing

You didnt miss anything bro , except the constant tension that you'd be plagued with wishing and wishing and wishing...

Bcoz any opportunity lost may never sometimes be regain bcoz you are praying to God to send helper to you but God will never come down from heaven. The embargo need to be lifted before appointment letter can be given and in a situation that the appointment letter has been typed before place an embargo the ministry can decide to give you the appointment letter but you won't be able to captured on IPPIS until when embargo has been lifted.

Note: has we all aware that there is interstate restriction now due to coronavirus pandemic no ministry will call you for collection of appointment now until the restriction being lifted.

These are just recommendations. There's no guarantee that any of them will be implemented. It's just like how bills are always proposed in NASS, but very few of them actually see the light of day. I doubt anything will happen... well-connected, powerful people are working in all these places, and they'll lobby politicians to prevent it
