Yes, you can make a payslip if you worked for someone. For self-employed, it is not necessary. Okay! "Tax certificate is a government issued document, no excuse will be tenable"But for this statement, do you mean for personal business or for a paid employment? Thank you. |

tunlex01: Yes, you can use one stat declaration for both yes, cash payment is not an exemption for payslip, pension or tax statement. @Tunlex01 Sometime in the past, you mention including a proof to backup of your claim. For instance, a link. Can these links be directly added inside the Status Declaration document itself or should there be another written stuff where the links/explanations/proofs can be written? Then one can attach it along with the Status Declaration? Thanks |

tunlex01: Yes, at the court. They gave me a sample and I edited it to suit my needs. I haven’t seen anyone do stat declaration for tax or pension. They have gone to the tax authority to pay the previous taxes.
3. It’s the same process as long as you have valid reason and evidence to back up your claim. That’s all Okay! But I thought "gong to tax authority to pay the previous taxes" is for personal business. That if your former employer can't provide you with a tax and pension proof, then that's when you make a Status Declaration. Is that not so? |

Please @All experienced comrades and @Everyone Please who has done Status Declaration before (especially for inability to provide pension and tax documents)? 1. How did you do it? 2. Do you or can you type it out and then take it to court to sign and stamp or how? 3. Is it the same procedure for doing something like (Affidavit of Change of Name)? Thanks all. |

tunlex01: No, you don’t have to get stat declaration for all documents except your company has exemption from paying taxes or pension. Getting a payslip should not be an issue. If you don’t have it and you have bank statement, that should be good. Stat declaration cannot cover pension or tax except you have genuine reasons why you are getting a stat declaration Also, in this attached Statutory Declaration template, there is "Declarant Name" and "Your Name" What is the difference between the two? What/who is the "Declarant name" and who/what is the "Your name"? Thanks |

Thanks. 1. First, there is a genuine reason for the inability to provide the pension and tax documents. So, my question is, can you make one Statutory Declaration document stating proofs and why you're unable to provide the tax and pension informations, (inside one Statutory Declaration document)? i.e one Stat. Decla. document for both tax and pension. Do you get? 2. Second, if the payments were made by hand (cash), can you still make a payslip for it? Thanks. |

tunlex01: Get your letter from the HR of the company. if that's not feasible, then you may prepare a statutory declaration. Good day great guy. Please for this Statutory Declaration thing, does one have to get a statutory declaration for every single document that he's unable to get? For example, for any single past employment of mine, I have in mind that I should provide 1. Payslip 2. Reference letter 3. Pension document 4. Tax certificate Now, my question is; If I'm able to provide only 1. Payslip and 2. Reference letter Should I provide 2 separate statutory declaration documents, for the other 2 documents that I'm unable to get? like; 3. one for Pension and 4. another one for Tax certificate Or should I make only one statutory declaration to cover for both 3. Pension and 4. Tax certificate? I wonder if my question is clear enough. Thanks as always. |

But recently, due to this SA program, I went to inquire as to what is required to obtain a tax certificate, I was frightened by the amount of money they charged me. tunlex01: You have different options to assess multiple occupations.
IT support technician, ICT Customer support officer, Hardware Technician, System Admin, System Analyst. Although these occupations are assessed by TRA and ACS, you have a better chance of getting nomination with TRA than ACS. If funds is not an issue, you can do two assessments (one with each of the bodies) to increase your chance as IT is competitive at the moment. Please comrade, I just learnt from your comment that it is not only ACS that assesses the occupations you listed abobe - that TRA also assesses them as well. This is new to me. Thanks Does TRA also assess ones like ICT Support Engineer and the likes? If so, like you advised our fellow up here, can I also try my chances with TRA in addition to ACS for ICT Support Engineer and similar ICT occupations? Thanks again. |

Insightful. Thanks. catchdwind4rmkd: @Ashaju: it's sad to read about your unsuccessful application.
However, the subject you've addressed is a very critical aspect of the migration process and as such I'm obliged to comment.
Most of the Engineers on this thread, if not more than 70%, have used their undergraduate projects or thesis as their career episodes. I've also seen few that used their NYSC experience. In fact, I personally used my undergraduate project, MSc project and 4th year SIWES / internship for my 3 career episodes. We've even had someone on here who wrote a very convincing episode based on his personal research and got a positive assessment outcome. Hence, I find your advise misleading or probably it lacks sufficient information to make it valid.
Over the years, the assessing authorities have encountered many plagiarized and overclaimed reports submitted by different applicants which has made them become more strict in their assessments. Undergraduate projects are very much accepted and recommended by Engineers Australia, but they must be backed with both theoretical and documented evidence. The decision to request for more information, documents or interview is solely dependent on the assessor or case officer, and varies from one application to another. However, the most influencing factor is the content and quality of your career episode.
Some persons do not take time to right a good report, others copy directly from their original project report which was even also originally copied from another work. Thus, there is a very high chance that more than 2 persons have used the same project and more than 2 have also applied and submitted the same report to Engineers Australia. There are also those that make bogus claims on their report, especially reports which were based on internships that was obvious that the applicant was only there to learn. Yet you see applicants claiming to be the innovator, team leader, main brain behind a solution to a very complex or sophisticated problems. All of these only raise eyebrows and forces the assessor to request for proof, evidence, reference or even call you to test your knowledge through a short interview.
I agree that things have changed over time and the requirements have become tougher or more strict, however, a well written career episode containing clear, logical and valid theories, facts or even hypotheses stand a 99% chance of being approved even without a request for proof. And with verifiable and documented evidence, such episode has 100% chance of being approved. It is also worth stating that a commonly disregarded proof for undergraduate thesis is your grade in your transcript. Ensuring that you explain the significance of the project to attaining your final degree and the credit weight assigned to it as well as your actual grade as evident on your transcript will to a large extent be a sufficient proof for your work if you had a very strong career episode.
On a lighter note, I've seen an instance where someone wrote a career episode of over 2500 words, with drawings, designs, equations, result tables, experiments, etc. and when he was asked to send a copy of the original report, he said he didn't have it. I'm not an assessor but I was dumbfounded and disgusted. Such a person must be a genius of the 5th order...
Your case may not fall into any of those, and the fact that you're given the opportunity to defend your submission goes a long way to prove that the undergraduate thesis is accepted for the skills assessment, but you may have been affected by past applicants who have made the assessors to be more vigilant of bogus claims and unfortunately for you, you weren't convincing enough.
I'm sorry for the long post. To summarize, you can include your undergraduate project in your career episode and get a positive assessment if you did the work yourself and can prove /defend it theoretically and also provide required document evidence if requested. In all, KEEP IT SIMPLE! |

Nicoletheo: Hello Fam,
Greetings to all.
Please what is positive skills assessment? I am 31 years old and single.
Going by the first page on this thread, see my status below.
Please feel free to advice me on any pitfalls to avoid. Kindly advice on the next steps
1. Check if your occupation is on the occupation list ICT Business Analysts(Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) ANZSCO codes assessed by the ACS)
2. Go to the website of the assessing body for your occupation for information about the assessment process Assessing body = ACS. Fee costs $500 Current Stage
3. Write English test. This step can come before skills assessment, it depends on the requirements of the assessing body for your occupation. Some do not require English test for assessment while others do. Proficient English(You have achieved a score of at least 7 in each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing) in an International English ) Score: L7, R6, W7.5, S8. Would rewrite IELTS
4. Once you get positive skills assessment, submit an expression of interest (EOI) here if you have minimum of 60 points for 189, 55 for 190 and 50 for 489. What is positive skills assessment?? Age = 30points Skilled employment in the last 10 years – outside Australia - 10points A Bachelor degree from an Australian educational institution or a Bachelor qualification, from another educational institution that is of a recognised standard. 15 To rewrite IELTS
5. If applying for 190 or 489, ensure a state is sponsoring your occupation before going ahead with the process.
6. After submitting EOI, wait for invitation to apply for the visa
7. Invitation received, apply for the visa and sit back till DHA finalises your application.
8. Grant received, pack your belongings and move. Can you use the English Language Proficiency Certificate obtained from school? Thanks |

You included partner's English test or proficiency. Does that mean the principal applicant can also use English proficiency from university not the test result from IELTS and co? Phlunter01: Congratulations!!!
Ok so for your application, Ensure you upload all documents that support every point you claimed i.e
Education (Certificate & Transcript) Age (Birth Certificate / International passport) Names (Birth Certificate, in case of any changes, Sworn affidavit and Newspaper publication) Work Experience (Employment letters, promotion letters, pay slips, reference letters, and Statement) Health (Ensure you generate your HAP ID and go for your medicals before you are asked, Yellow card from port health) English (PTE score should be sent directly from your profile on the PTE website, or send the IELTS result) Partner (International passport, Yellow card from port health, Evidence of name or any changes as above, English docs as above or Proficiency in English letter from sch) Child (International passport, Immunization card)
all applicants will have to do the medicals as above.
I am not certain ii have covered it all.
Others can modify |

Bamz: Hi stepo707,
How's it going? We met on the PTE section. Glad to know you're making some headway on your application. I reckon our job roles will be very similar since you do IT support.
Please, I need to make some clarifications.
How many points did you garner assessing with TRA?
Checking suitable places for HW Technician, why did you opt for SA? NT & TAS were available options.
There's a likelihood that I will assess with TRA and I'm contemplating ICT Support Technician nec, with just NT open to applications but it seems that they require an employment offer.
PS. I think I may also be able to tailor my job roles to suit any job within the 3131 Unit Group though. ICT Customer Support Officer looks good right now for SA.
Alphadoor, please I need your advice here too. I hope you remember me, the Systems Engr guy (torn between assessing for EA or ACS). Seems there's so much competition for these bodies and the points requirement keep increasing. I have 10 points for English, and seriously considering 489. I will rewrite my English exam much later after I initiate my assessment process. Hello @Alphadoor and other experienced people, Please I beckon on you gurus here again. Kindly help. Please, I need urgent help from experienced and knowledgeable members on this Australian migration Assessment program. I have reasonably read through the requirements for the various Assessment pathways and have settled for the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) option, given my peculiar situation. However, sometimes the entire instruction in all the referenced pages and documents can seem quite cumbersome or a bit ambiguous on a number of issues and not exactly specific on what needs to be done at a particular instance. I have also browsed Nairaland very well and have not seen any full info related to any successful RPL assessment application and requirement details. Please, kindly offer helpful information on the specific things I need. These are the things I have: 1. Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering 2. I waited for 31 Oz working days and 50 days before my application was picked up by an assessor despite the fact that i paid for fast track.
Quoted here was the feedback from the assessor.
I responded by writing an explanatory note with the following comments:
1, For NYSC, please provide:
- I stated that i do not have the requested document because i was only paid stipend during the period and i also attached my NYSC discharge certificate.
2, For upto 6 years job experience: Please provide Electronic Tax Clearance Certificate Card for the whole period of employment at ......
- I explained that my state does not issue out such card. Also mentioned that Lagos state only recently commenced issuing it out but other states in Nigeria are yet to follow suit.
Less than 48 hours after i responded, I got the positive assessment for all my experience and degree. To God be the glory.
Please keep your faith alive, it will definitely happen. Thanks for your insight. Please for your situation, aside the requested NYSC document and the Electronic Tax Clearance Certificate Card, did you submit any other documents with respect to your employment payment? |

I previously assessed as an External Auditor with CPA Australia but got a negative assessment and was told I didn't meet one of the competency areas. I had the option of writing Financial Accounting and Reporting paper to obtain a positive assessment but that would mean all my experience no longer counts so I won't score any points for experience. It didn't seem like a very viable option at the time because I needed all the points I could get as age was not on my side + I was aiming for a 189. Moreover, most States require post qualification experience of 2 - 3 years before they will nominate you for External/Internal Auditor. Right now I'm looking for 489 anyhow but finding very hard to get past this stage of RPL report writing. Please help somebody! I really need guidance with this.
