Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has announced plans to campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 Nigeria presidential election.

Speaking in a video, Portable openly explained why he had previously not been spraying money on the streets, saying he was broke at the time.

“I don’t like the title for the main article,” the singer said before explaining his position: “I was broke before, that’s why I haven’t been spraying money for the street, but now, I want to do rally for Tinubu. They’ve paid me, I’ve collected money and now I’ll show love to the street.”

Portable went on to declare his support for the president, saying: “I have a lot of money now, I’ve been paid and I’m fully supporting Tinubu.”

Portable further disclosed that he would soon take his campaign efforts beyond rallies, announcing plans to engage in door-to-door campaigning for the APC.

His comments have drawn attention because of how directly he spoke about his political support and the payment he said he received. Rather than using conventional political language, Portable openly connected his campaign involvement with being paid and said he was now ready to show support for people on the streets.
