It sounded strange to me initially, had to ask someone serving there.
if you're dismissed u can't apply again but if you're withdrawn u can still apply, dismissal is different from withdrawal

Before I continue my story , i just want you guys to Know that some officers dey woo female cadets, if you don't believe it's your business but if you're a cadet and you're caught pregnant then ofe! You're going to your fathers house, some people here do see officers as gods but the truth is that me I've already zeroed my mind, officers do live fake life, I mean army officers, they don't have anything, some get Sha but most junior officers don't have, they'll go and collect loan and buy ride and you'll think they have, I'll never advice my friend to join the army, you'll suffer like bastard, they'll use your blood, you'll regret it later on, join navy or naf and see shayi.

Back to the story, commandant banged fire alarm, he warned cadets about going to town, after the baba left, cadets that missed the fire alarm were told to come and cancel their names before 18:00, you that went before that 18:00 you'll be safe but if you didn't cancel your name that means you were not in the academy that day and you'll be charged.. I was among those that missed the fire alarm, i didn't miss the fire alarm because i was in town, i was inside academy, commandant banged the fire alarm immediately after A branch, that's @ 14:00, i left class that day by 13:00, i wanted to go and charge through bush, cadets love charging through, that day i was trying to hide so that my culprit won't see me, I had a 4th termer culprit, he's a sergeant so anytime i see him i do thin out(escape),that day i thined out so i could go follow bush because if you're caught using the normal route when it's not yet time then you'll buy job not only for yourself but your whole coursemates.... I got to my battalion before 14:00 but could not enter because cadets were still at A branch,I had to mark time(wait) but it took them long before they entered lines(hostel), i was surprised Sha, when i entered my room i asked my clonws what happened and he said commandant banged fire alarm. Oboy ! Fear catch me oo,but i heard that they said we should come and cancel our names before 18:00hrs, i just helped my pip, my future 1 fat star, carried my anti plant and started open dashing to meet RSM, in academy they have cadet RSM and battalion RSM, battalion RSM is an Oscar(soldier) rank of staff sergeant, cdt RSM works with him, fear no gree me to go and meet cdt RSM because he'll nearly take my life, cdt RSM is supposed to be a 5th termer but 5th termers were in jaji so it was 4th termers that had academy that time and your worst nightmare will be your immediate senior.

I met battalion RSM , we were like 9 that missed the fire alarm, battalion RSM wan kill us with swapap(tree branch), my battalion adjutant came, he carried hockey stick and started massaging us, he didn't give us shayi, CO too came, he told us to sit on out pot(head), he said he'll he's Ronaldo and he was going to kick our pot so that psg would sign him, baba started killing us oo, he was wearing boots oo, after everything Sha they handed us to 4th termers, those guys started watering us, they had skills, they were water benders, oboy! See as man dey cry grin

I was going through this thread and i was seeing people saying something about ajebutter cadet, well Sha i promised myself never to insult anyone online because you don't know who is who and who can help you..... I created this account because i just want to be anonymous, used the moniker redemption because i want to redeem myself, I've been on nairaland for 7days, I'm very popular in military threads(admission process), odunayaw na my guy but i can't let him Know I'm no longer a cadet because it'll break his heart, some guys here know me, I'm not an ajebutter , is there anything like ajebutter in nda? Some Nigerians ehn.

Firstly, lemme talk about the admission process because most Nigerians think nda is just for the rich or people with connection that's why that guy with the moniker said I'm an ajebutter cadet, please if you know anybody that wants to get into nda as a regular combatant and doesn't have anybody, like poor man pikin, just tell the person to read all the pages from the the beginning to end of that nda thread here on nairaland, I'll look for the link and drop, the person will become a guru on admission process because it really helped me. As long as you're medically fit , if you go through that thread and you don't get nda on your first or at most second attempt then you're very dull, you don't need any stupid God father before you enter but if you have it's an added advantage, I'm just saying these because many Nigerians think nda is all about connection. If your father is dangote and you're a cadet, yeah you might be an ajebutter but there's nothing like ajebutter in nda, there's no special treatment, the only thing that can help you if your family is very rich is that you'll be Packard(sharp) you'll have many Kaya, you'll wear correct boot and they might look for a strong roommate that will be able to protect you once in awhile but e no mean say u no go warm your pot grin

Another person was saying there's no officer here, well Sha that's a lie because I know death machine was a major, him supposed even hang Lt.col this year or next, I know seriousblack was a member of 58rc, there's another guy donbobes though he's dead, he used to come here once in a blue moon, Captain Stephen too is an officer, I've met one officer from this thread,I met him at kaduna though he's now overseas, officers do come here once once.

One guy been dey talk say people no supposed complain say I dey write about academy, truth is that academy doesn't even give a shit if you write about them, it's Just that some officers no dey like make people know about what they passed through. Martin Luther Agwai wrote about his academy experience, how the training was, he called names oo, even game details about his camp intial and camp highland, why didn't the military say he was leaking secrets? Funnily enough this is book is in a academy library, he was already retired when he wrote the book Sha, he was my co-bat cool

Redemption1:
.. Late April some clowns blew awol and went to town, they decided to sleep in a primary school, it was in the afternoon so they didn't want to return to the Academy, they were just marking time for it to get dark so they slept off, the villagers there thought that they were bandits because they were looking very dirty, in nda to be a clown is like to be with disease because clownship is a disease, so the villagers called jtf and police, the arrested those clowns and asked them who they were, they told them that they were cadets but the villagers didn't believe, they had to call and officer and the officer that came was Mogadishu battalion acting CO, major X, one of the most malicious officers in nda, he told the cadets to enter his boot and he started driving, he was about taking them to the Academy..... Brb
I don't know how those clowns did it but they opened the boot and jumped out from the car, the officer chased them but the thined out, cadets are magicians grin, The officer did eye service and he told commandant about what happened, Las Las those clowns were sos (struck of strength). The next day commandant banged fire alarm, oboy! First commandant fire alarm since he came to office, the baba was just angry that cadets went to town, the truth is that you can't stop cadets from blowing awol, it's not possible, you didn't give them break and you don't want them to blow awol, is there anything like that? I'm sure that you're a civilian @Ltgen, even if you're an officer you're probably a colito grin so you won't understand, I can bet my life that you're not a regular, you think RC training is the same with colitos or that smoke soldiers do at deport, lemme give you a breakdown of Nda routine..

Light out is by 23:30 but is there anything like light out in my father's Academy? Light out that you'll be serving you culprit job, or doing anything, light out is supposed to be from 23:30 to 01:30 but you can't sleep for that 2 hours because you'll be shinning boot(as per glass cheesy), when you're through with this you'll iron your uniform and you'll clean your room, you'll scrumb your floor with brush so tey the floor will be tired and start calling you dj khalid grin

It's possible for you to be even serving job, your culprit will come and park you and go and suffer you, but I'm not even talking about the job aspects, i just want to just talk about the normal Academy routine, from 01:30 to 04:00 cadets will be doing jikapa, that's cleaning on their various platoon, they wash toilets and all those stuffs, in Nda we no get cleaners...

That 04:00 is time for muster parade, muster will finish by 5 and everybody will go our for first period lectures, it's usually from 06:00 to 06:45, but you must be at the venue of your first period 30mins early, so way and manner you go to cadet mess and eat you dinner by that 5am is your business but cadets don't like going to mess that morning because you'll be late for first period and if you're late you'll serve job, oscars(soldiers) them go use you take shine, them no like us and we no like soldiers and colitos(SSC %DSSC) grin

First period will end by 06:45 and you'll have to run back to lines(hostel) to go and change up and go for A branch class, that's from 8am to 2pm, you that they'll catch in lines by 7:10am you'll nearly run mad, one funny thing about Nda is that when you're in your room you'll look your room but immediately you're going out you'll open your doors and many cadets are thieves, you'll even see your senior telling you to go and steal something for you, he'll say tactically mamsa that stuff and bring it to me..

From 2pm you'll go to mess for lunch, on your way to mess you'll just be serving job from one Junction to another, mehn e dey sweet to serve job oo, I miss serving job, cadets sef will hunch (frog jump) 3.2km, we'll be hunching so tey frog will even see us and start calling us course mates cheesy, we'll nak forward row so tey we'll have the devil's eye at out back but we were already used to serving job.... After all the job sha cadets will double to mess and damage the canwee(food) properly, then go to lines to change up for games, games depends on the coming up competition, if it's obstacle competition all man will go and be crossing obstacle, it just depends on the competition, games is from 15:30 to 18:00 then cadets will go and prepare for prep (night class) then central checking. Oboy! Time for Central checking just zero your mind for job, everybody must serve job, if you're a culprit you seniors will come and park you, they'll suffer you toll God knows when, you'll serve job till the next day, you can save job for 7hours straight. Oboy! Nda is not like deport oo, I have seen soldiers that later got into Nda and they dashed, e dey happen, the suffering is for 5 years and yes cadets do cry, even the so called 5th termers dey cry grin, the thing is just for you to just zero you mind and pray you pass out, because you can suffer for 5years and on the day of POP they'll still withdraw you, that's ofe! I'll complete the story later today sha, why i was withdrawn and what happened after my withdrawal

@Ltgen, not that I'm praising the previous commandant but you can't just compare the previous and present commandant, I'm going to give you some instances.

1: in terms of military training, cadets trained well in the previous one than this current one, 3years ago when i was a clown we went for amateur shooting range, we were given 20 bullets each, same thing happened 2years ago but when this new commandant came he reduced it to 7bullets, that's for clowns oo.

2: during the previous commandant time, if you just report to the Academy as a clown you'll be issued complete kit but sarham didn't give clowns anything, they bought everything with their money, how will you join the military and they won't give you uniform or boot? You'll be the one buying it...

3: I won't say oyebade didn't withdraw cadets, he did that but it was when he did that but it was when a cadet committed a serious offence, if it's a minor case you'll either get dash away or relegation but sarham will just withdraw you straight for minor issues, seniors that passed out from Nda were called back, they were relegated after some months he still withdrew all of them, haba! In oyebade's time if you're a relegated cadet and you commit, it's either you serve job or he'll relegate you again, when sarham came he withdrew all those cadets that were relegated twice, he just said he doesn't want any cadets that has been relegated twice, funily enough this present commandant was a relegated cadet when he was still a cadet...

I don't even want to compare, the former commandant was a war machine, he was too good, he's just like the present CAS and I know if he was the CAS he would do better than this one, no need for long story, just ask any officer that have worked with oyebade

I think the cadet just need someone to talk to.
I've been through the system but I've heard stories of malicious treatment on cadet that might affect their mental health once in a while.
Cadet, I'd advice you try to talk to someone you trust.
Sometimes it's better to vent out your frustration than keep it in.
But please do it in a way not to cause problem for you.
Sarham no get joy o grin
Sarham na bastard oo, someone that withdrew a bsuo last year December, bsuo that's number 1 cadet in a battalion, the man didn't even pity the guy and relegate him, the baba just wasted 5 years for nothing

I am thankful you are no longer in the NDA.It is staggering you find this worthy of venting.
What have you suffered?
And you were going to be an officer
Ajebutter like you that cannot suffer wetin??
Are you sick in the head so because they canceled your “vacation “ you are comparing yourself to Oga wetin you carry?
Nah wah thank God you chickened out.
You are supposed to have an extremely high tolerance of physical and mental pain instead you are here complaining.
The reason why the 54 washed out because the Major began to see and question the quality of the NDA graduatesh and he absolutely didn’t like what he saw.
These are the types of guys that would lead men into ambushes .
Kudos to the Major.
Oga calm down, do you know what happened to me? You're here saying that i chickened out, nda is 5years and i trained for 3years so do you think I'll run when I've trained for 3years? Yeah i was complaining because of the break because I've been serving restriction, I've been in the Academy for almost 2years without going home for break, i don't know if you're an officer, even if you're an officer you won't still understand because colitos(SSC) didn't train at perm site except you're a regular.

I was withdrawn from Academy and you're here saying you're thankful that I'm no longer in the Academy, i don't know you and i don't want to know you but I'll advice you not to be happy for another man's downfall, because this world is a small world and what goes around surely comes around. Even if you're an officer don't you know that you could me dismissed tomorrow? The withdrawn cadet you know today can be the COAS tomorrow and the General you know today can be dismissed tomorrow

After the dossier review, 54 cadets were withdrawn, they were withdrawn in just 1 day, that was the highest number in the history of nda, since 1964 nothing like that ever happened, well change they say is the only constant thing in life. We were supposed to go home for 2nd quarter break this April but because of the pandemic they cancelled the break and told us that we were going to go home this October, that's 10 months training without break, well she they stopped teaching us A branch (Academics) and the only thing we were taught was g branch(military) training...

All the whole Academy courses were not happy because they didn't give us break and we heard rumors that polac(police academy) were home because the president ordered all schools to closed... I know I'm not supposed to do this here but i have no other option, I've been following this thread for years though I'm a ghost follower. I love the military with all my heart and this love made me to apply and luckily enough for me i was admitted into the Nigerian defence Academy as of officer Cadet to train for a period of 5 years.

I reported to the Academy with hopes of becoming a 2nd Lt at the end of the 5 years rigorous training in Academics and military branch, tbt it wasn't easy because what i thought was going to happen during training wasn't what happened, it was different but my coursemates and i adapted, we finished our first quarter(1st semester) and were given 14days pass to go see our family, I went home and was really happy, people started respecting me, i had power and was really happy, though sha it's only when you're on break you'll know the sweetness of being an officer Cadet because in nda you'll be treated like shit, i resumed back to the Academy and continued suffering till i became a 2nd termer(200l) though i was still suffering but it reduced, like play like play i became a 3rd termer that's half battalion commander, i started seeing suicide peace because i only have two seniors (4th %5th termer), 4th termer were serving kati kati so they didn't have time for we 3rd termers while 5th termers were our rooms when we were still clowns(100l) so we had nothing to worry about...

Our commandant maj Gen oyebabe(God will bless you anywhere you are sir!) handed over to maj gen J Sarham, this born bastard Sarham was a pain in the ass, he brought back sit on your head, he brought back many old tradition that died during oyebade's time, he said Cadet lacked discipline. We did cross country competition last year December, don't know the particular day but I think 18th, people that didn't make any cage(beat time) he told them to re run the cross country, 1st quarter break was supposed to be on the 21st December but baba allowed us on the 24th and we reported on the 5th of January, well sha we just zeroed our mind for the worst...

This February we were told that the new commandant said that there was going to be dossier(jacket)review, all cadets that had 3 entries were relegated, more than 3 entries were withdrawn, I know of some seniors that passed out from nda last year and were called back, they were relegated last year, during this dossier review they were all withdrawn, even some 6th termers were withdrawn
