robosky02: Rivers crisis: Wabara warns against declaration of state of emergency
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BoT, Adolphus Wabara, has warned President Bola Tinubu not to allow greedy and power-drunk anti-democratic forces to hijack Rivers State.
Wabara issued this warning in a statement he signed on Friday.
The PDP chieftain warned that the party won’t allow the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State amid the rift between Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyseom Wike.

Wabara expressed worry over the political crisis in Rivers State.
He said, “There is nothing happening in the state that warrants the call for state of emergency as being demanded by these fake apostles of peace.”
The PDP BoT Chairman warned that any attempt to tamper with Fubara would spell doom for Nigeria.
He said, “I have keenly watched the political developments in Rivers State, and want to place it on record that PDP and the law abiding citizens of this country will not tolerate any attempt to derail democracy in the state.
“We won’t allow anti-democratic forces and insatiable elements hijack power through the back door in their desperation to hang on to power and hold the state to the jugular.
“Any attempt to scuttle the democratically elected PDP-led Government in Rivers is a recipe to a political unrest capable of consuming the entire country.
“I, therefore, call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not to allow greedy and self overrated power drunks to push him into taking steps that could portray him as a despot, and ultimately plunge the country into avoidable upheaval.”
But when Obasanjo declare same state of emergency in Ekiti those years he was also a member of the Senate and Ekiti situation wasn't as serious as Rivers
Tinubu shld declare state of emergency in Rivers State...
2 section of governance have collapsed
A. House of assembly B. Local government
Chaos everywhere ...
Tinubu should salvage what is left by imposing state of emergency and appoint military men to stabilize the state and conduct new elections in all local govt and house of assembly ..
Seefinish: Is it by force to eat eggs? Here in the north, some northerners are using awara in place of meat and fish. I have eaten it and I can testify it makes sense.
So u mean a grade level one will earn 450k while a pepper seller on d street will be struggling to earn 20k ... And landlords won't capitalize on that to increase their rent ...
hegelian: That's not how it works.. Don't get carried away with social media analysis..
the exponential increase in price of goods and commodity should be expected...
When a gateman or security men will be earning 450k a month what do u expect a pepper seller to sell her goods, what do u expect of a property owner, person selling cement will also want to pay their sales rep equivalent of minimum wage earner, where will he get that money from if not increasing price of commodities to fit into such expenses..
The effect of hyper inflation will be the worst in Nigeria
With thee minimum wage demand of the Nilc/Tuc from 35k to whatever agreed price ..
I will advice property owners to pend any sales or letting of property be it car, house or whatever till the hullabaloo is over because it is certain that inflation will more than triple depending on the agreed negotiated price.
The value of naira will be totally useless .
A roomself averaging like 400k per annum may cost 4m per annum if agreed at 450k per annum..
A tokunbo 2005 Corolla car at 4m will cost 13m to 15m so be prepared for hyper inflation.....
richie240: Why should nigerian players keep mute? Well it's not compulsory to say it out loud tho.
Players (worldwide) are not mandated to sing it; laslas just remain motionless (as sign of respect for ur country) when it's being played.
Oga most times our indigenous professional footballers sing along with the band with passion. But am not expecting anyone to have learned it so quick ...
Zico5: When it comes to local government autonomy, I give kudos to Lagos governments. Local governments have been operating independently for years and despite that many state are strongly attached to local governments funds, Lagos state stand firm to allow local governments to remain autonomy. Other states are duly guilty of this.
which of the local government pls be precise cos all the ones I know still rush to alahusa for tokens .... No autonomy in Lagos local govt
Dangote have to source for oil from other countries because I believe the oil we are producing presently has been mortgage to other international companies and country in settlement for debt. So it's temporary.
