Politics › Re: Prof Achebe‘s Submission, A Glorification Of Awolowo! by redsun(m): 7:19am On Oct 07, 2012
Johnny: Prof.Chinue Achebe‘s article causing ripples in the land now only succeeded in glorifying the Yoruba tribal demagogue,Obafemi Awolowo instead of indicting him.The Yorubas who are great opportunists, will keep this “accusation“ secret to be told their children tomorrow that “AWOLOWO FOUGHT AND WON THE NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR WITHOUT GUNS“,and that will become another “feather“ to the cap of the late Tribalist in addition to his,often-braged-about introduction of the so-called “Free Education“ in the South-West.
Achebe has made a huge mistake!!
It is the glorification of truth, and only the truth shall set the people. It is high time people realised who their heroes really are,if not they will remain dafts like their heroes.

As far as i am concerned, nigerian statesmen/women,past and present layed the foundation of ignorace that the country is reaping today. They were shortsighted tribesmen and women in suits, ties, skirts and blouses, who for the mere fact that they speak oyinbo language made them suitable to guide the people into the promise land of modernity, but all they ended doing is reversing the people's evolutionary traits.

All these kind of mindset and useless issues are why nigeria is a failed state.People are so fcking deluded, their brains are less functional than than ants and they want to stay alive. And the fact that they keep putting all these BS on the front page, rather than the hidden sections where they belong, makes me begin to wonder whether seun has newly become delude or his is getting some shares from the scam houses, called churches.

Jakumo: This 17th century insanity must be stopped NOW. Lock all those murderous creatures up and let them rot in jail. They have NO place in ANY society.
They dont deserve truck pushers certificates, talkless of university degrees. They should be recruited into the army and sent to places like afganistan and somalia where people act like savages and be used as human shields to fish out the savages over there.Instead sending robots to detonates booby traps and wasting hard earned tax payers monies spent developing the hi tech robots, animals like that should be sents for free.

Is the university still open?In a normal world the university should have been closed by now until the crimes are solved. That is not a university for rational learning,it is a citadel of savages. And that is a reflection of nigeria as a country.

What is the brutal nigerian police doing to round up those salvages called students that commit those senseless and brutal murders?Since there enough video and opicture evidences,it wont be a difficult task.

Until the savages start paying for their inhumane acts, the barbaric act of lynching innocent people wont stop. And at the same time, the desperate and daredevil nature of robbers who wouldnt want to be victims of such act, wont stop. The more brutal the society becomes, the more brutal the robbers become.

otokx: lets start with the petty criminals amongst us then work our way gradually up.
It doesnt work like that, those petty criminals are a result of the criminals on top.The cleaning should start from the top, when the top is clean, you dont need to bother cleaning the bottom. But no matter how you clean the bottom, the deluge from the top will still conterminate the bottom.

The ills of "unpatriotism".Nigerians unpatriotic nature is detrimental to human evolution.Nigerian manufacturing industry is like an egg that is taking ages to crack,It is cracked open, with the chick head popping out while the rest of the body is still intact in the egg.Not still hatch, but at the same not successful hatch.

I wonder which one is better, bokoharam or nigerian undergraduate? Nigeria is finished if future leaders in the institution of knowledge are as barbaric and unreasonable like that. The perpetrators should be rounded up and charge for brutal murders.

The question is, why do we resort to jungle justice? This is barbaric in this day and age. I'm ALL for the death penalty if someone is convicted but why are people so eager to kill others without a trial?
Because nigeria is literally a jungle, where hapless burglars are burnt alives, while mass mudering thieves like the politicians are honoured.
just curious- can you, personally, tell me of any nigerian overseas who has resided permanently there (with minimal or no visits to naija) and lived to up to 70 years while doing so.

i dont seem to know of any, for some reason.

However, i do know of my grandparents who never set foot overseas in their lives, yet every one of them clocked over 80. Despite not being educated or having access to state of the art healthcare systems.

just wondering.

of course I'm not knocking abroad but one occasionally notices such things.
It is no long the same in nigeria as regards your grand folks living into their eighties, against all odds. With all the chemicalized, adultrated, pesticized and "sugarized" oyinbo foods nigerians are eating right no,coupled with unchecked industrial and air pollutions, they dont stand much chance with whacked heath care.

The more africans are exposed to oyinbo way of life without due precautions, the more dangerous life becomes in africa.
Politics › Re: US Jobless Rate In Surprise Fall by redsun(m): 4:21pm On Oct 05, 2012
The US unemployment rate fell last month to its lowest rate since January 2009, figures from the Department of Labor have shown, surprising analysts who had been expecting a small rise.

Last month's rate came in at 7.8%, down from 8.1% in August.

The latest numbers also showed that the US economy added a further 114,000 jobs in September, beating expectations.

The presidential candidates sparred over the data, which is seen as a key issue for November's elections.

A senior Obama administration official, Alan Krueger, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, said it was "critical that we continue the policies that are building an economy that works for the middle class".

How come Obama didnt point that out during the presidential debate? That seems to be where the cracker romney was hammering on and what seems to have given him some boost.

I know that if that man comes in as the president of america,it wont take very long for world war 3 to break out.His faith in reviving the american economy seems to lie in defence, and for defence business to be really buoyant, war has to be on the line. His first port of call might be Iran.

Godogwu: And I'm pretty sure you guys have it all...heavenly roads, no corruption, no terrorist group, no racist crime, no burglary, robbery, nothing like someone coming into the cinema and shooting people randomly......I'm sure it's all Rosy for you guys.
You guys just think nigeria is only yours because you live there.By the time we come home, people like you will be placed where you belong if you refuse to sharpen up and the country will be sanitized.

A good example of sanitization is what fashola is doing in lagos, minus tinubu magomago. It is not going to come easy, but it has start from somewhere. It requires sensible rules being made that people will abide by sensibly. And most of all, accountabilities on all sides, all must be accountable for there to be a functional society.

Success in nigeria is characterize by how much an individual is able to steal from the system and buy the respect of fo-oolish gullible nigerians who even in the universities will be aiming to come out, irrespective of his or her brainwashed education and become a big thief with ogbonggbo minus grammer minus common sense. That is the vicious circle in nigeria.

A fundamentally flawed projection of society, human endeavours and fulfillments.

Development starts with orderliness, accoontability, which is missing in the government and sacrifice.People have to pay their ways through life, one way or the other. The only annoying thing is that they pay it into the pockets of criminals like tinubu, who is even named after a magistrate court.A questionable character, representing the citadel of justice, what a shame.

Stringent laws shape society, but all has to be equal before.Animals like tinubu can get away with mass murder, while a hapless truck pusher can be sent prison for puhing his truck on the motorway. It is a case of lawlessness.
Politics › Re: Lagos Won't Allow Other States Number Plates by redsun(m): 8:08am On Oct 04, 2012
In as much as it a pain in the asses of suffering unruly nigerians, this is how states get their acts together, make their monies,in this case for animals liketinubu, and become real big brother by having all and sundry in the database. It is something that must happen in nigeria for there to be sanity and control, but a little bit of it,in a place where government personnels are not compeled by law to be responsible,it is a little too dangerous.

It cannot remain the way it is done now, that the collections of state revenues should be in the hands of former state givernor, who thinks he is an emperor and does not give precise accounts of the revenues he collects. It is abuse of privilages, abuse of power and a total negligence of a democratic system.Tinubu has to be brought to book, for lagos to be sane.

It doesnt come that simple. You can not settle an issue that involves life and death of the masses without true and defined justice,it will repeat itself. Not even rats can swallow things like that, knowing that they are in danger at any time of their territorial rivals.

I think you are seeing thinhs myopically and that is the same reason nigeria is not moving forward, because the fundamental issues are always left untackled

It is appalling the rate at which long term businesses go down the drain in nigeria as a result of inherent ignorance and stack negligence. His brother could be smart like him and understand that the business is for keep, not to hunt down all the university btches that are ready for anything in trousers with cash.
Politics › Re: Awolowo Was Driven By An Overriding Ambition For Power-chinua Achebe by redsun(m): 11:11am On Oct 03, 2012
Rossikk: That's a flawed reading of what occurred. The secession was declared months after the northern massacres had ended. It was declared ostensibly because the fed govt had failed to 'bring to justice' the perpetrators of the killings. It's not as if northern troops were marching down into Igbo territory to slaughter everyone before secession was hastily declared by the Igbos to ''defend themselves''. There was no threat at all to Igboland at the time the secession was declared.

In fact, Ojukwu's rejection of Gowon's 12 state solution was the real tipping point for the declaration. Some analysts say Ojukwu could not countenance his much reduced and limited powers issuing from the new state system announced by Gowon. (He would have been a state governor in much reduced territory, as opposed to his role at the time of military governor of the entire Eastern Region.)

So the day after Gowon announced the 12 state creation, Ojukwu declared secession.
So are you saying it was for Ojukwu's personnal and selfish interest that Biafra was declared, rather than the need to defend the igbos and their intergrity?
Music/Radio › Re: Mikel Obi Sets-up Record Label With Junior Brother by redsun(m): 11:05am On Oct 03, 2012
Now he is thinking like an igboman, instead of worrying about twitter comments. With the kind of money at his disposal,he can go into any business venture in nigeria,But he is going to need people that thinks and people that understand what responsibilities stand for to make it work.

Nigerians are so self destructive that even when a cleared gold mine is handed over to them, they will choose to filled it up with mud in the name of instant gain. They dont think of the long term benefits of efforts and haardwork.

There are floods every where, even in the UK a few people died last week as a result of flooding. But the only snag is that nigeria is ill prepared for the wraths of nature that have become common events these days.Natural disasters that were strange in africa now happens almost on daily basis and the people does not know what to do,because the government, like in every other thing, has no plan. The towns and cities are not design to withstand the strong forces of nature.
Politics › Re: Awolowo Was Driven By An Overriding Ambition For Power-chinua Achebe by redsun(m): 10:42am On Oct 03, 2012
Rossikk: Achebe comes across as a tribalist to me. Why does he not criticise those who declared 'Biafra' and put the lives of millions of Igbos at risk in so doing? Other nations that declare secession/war, do they not prepare for it? How can you go into battle with cutlass and light weapons against a country like Nigeria? It makes no sense, and Achebe attacking Awo and co for taking advantage of the Igbo leadership's stupidity makes no sense. Can you believe the Igbo leaders were banking on FRANCE to assist them and send them weapons? France are like TWINS with the UK. The strongest of allies. Not surprisingly the French abandoned Biafra once the war started, no doubt after a few closed door meetings with the Brits in Paris or London in smoke-filled rooms over Brandy.

Where is Achebe's criticism of Igbo naivety in all this??
I dont think the igbos had choice about the war. They were killed emnass, brutalized and forced to defend themselves.Just like what is happening today, the northerners have started brutalizing the igbos and if the igbos had chose to be stu-pid like them and start retaliating, outright war would have long broken out again in nigeria.
