Kaduna State was used as a template for muslim-muslim ticket in the 2019 elections. It was possible because like Rivers, Enugu and Delta, we do have Christian-christian tickets sailing. However with a muslim-muslim presidential ticket in 2023, it will be a fatal loss to any party that dares it.
It is a no brainer to attempt a muslim-muslim ticket after Buhari's 8 years in office. This would imply that muslim presidents would rule from 2015 - 2023, then from 2023 - 2031, then handover to another northern muslim from 2031 to 2039, a total of 24 years. That will be insane and highly resisted.
Even in Lagos, where Asiwaju holds sway, it cannot fly not to talk of Nigeria. Come 2023, such political party will lose terribly in 15 of the 17 southern states and Abuja. In the middle belt, at least Taraba and Benue and Plateau will be lost, Bauchi Gombe and Kaduna could only give such a party about 70% vote. So, I wonder which party will be this audacious to try insensitive and provocative journey in the face of current happening in Nigeria. I do not care how popular a candidate may presume he or she is, when push goes to shoves, Nigerians react more against religious injustices over ethnic or tribal injustices.
