Mamas I hail you all.
Just dropping this on a lighter note.

Please mama read well and get enough knowledge on card of babies. More importantly, study your child well before applying general principles you read online because children differ in virtually everything.

I remember women in my church telling me to back my baby anytime I carry her. They're like 'back this girl na', ' ur hand will soon start aching you',...etc. Me that I've decided to back her only when she clocks 2 months, not because it's a law but because I felt she was still small. ( Others back theirs from day 1, others don't even back at all..whatever works for you mum).
So when I started backing her, people started saying.."ah, don't let her get used to back oo'. Reallyhuh. Some even say don't let her get used to carrying and I'm like should I watch her while crying or in discomfort just because I don't want her to get used to hand carrying.
My mamas, please people will advise you but at the end of the day, it's you and your baby.
Do what works for you, read about medical advice and run it through your trusted doctor before implementation. People will always talk.. especially women who feel they're experienced in childcare. Be careful who you leave your baby with. You and your baby will be just fine and alright!!!
You're doing a great job mama. Well done!
i was just laughing out loud when reading ur post...so apt..it's ftm that fall for these people talk talk, cos of lack of experience. So in one way or the other,we've all pass through their 'comment',esp people living in Nigeria...It's well

thanks for the comforting words. Although he had to be hospitalized for several days after his birth and placed on oxygen and other medicine at SCBU at UCH. If so wish and pray he pulls through gloriously.
He shall pull through by His Mighty Grace(amen)

Hello mama’s.I am currently pregnant and have been taking cold water since conception.I asked on the pregnancy thread and they said it does not have any effect but I am still worried. Is there any effect on cold water on baby after delivery? Will it affect my baby if I keep on drinking cold water? Thanks.
Not really,it's safe..Some mamas even use the cold water to ease nausea..But mama, too much of everything isn't really good.Take cold water, but i don't subscribe to toooo much of it(there re actually diff types of cold water),even with this weather..Not for baby sake this time, but adult can catch cold too na*winks*...Safe delivery

Please moms help out...
Yes,i believe there's light at the end of the tunnel...No two kids reach milestone at same pace, each kid is unique in their own way.Just continue sitting him up with guide,if just for few mins..7months isn't too late to sit up,some kids don't really sit up till 8 to 9months...And the best bet when anything is bothering,is seeing a specialist...which u already did...Mama,Ur baby will be fine, that I'm absolutely sure of.

Good day mum's. My baby (girl), 3 weeks old, sleeps well during the day but cries most of the night.
I think it's normal but my wife is getting worried.
We make sure she's not hungry nor hot, change diaper, yet she cries almost every 30 mins throughout the night.
What can we do to make her sleep well at night?
3weeks old babies doesn't really have sleep pattern yet. Most of them sleep during the day and became active at night,it doesn't mean anything is wrong with them...That is why we wish new mums Happy Vigilante...And since u said there wasn't any fever, tell mama to stop worrying....They do change along the line,u hear?...kisses to our princess

Mamas,i have been a silent observer...i was jz forced to comment when i saw worries of mamas concerning malaria drugs and jaundice...I can never rubbish watever u were told to do during ur ante natal classes(as a matter of fact,it's important to adhere),they re ur caregiver, they can see u and know u..If ur doctor gave u anti malaria drugs, pls use it...my own point is Jaundice and Anti-Malaria drugs has no connection....Easy peasy delivery to everyone

busybeei5:
The nurses/doctors in my antenatal clinic said its for prevention and not for treatment.
They even said it should be taken monthly
Ok,good...but not taking it cos i wasn't diagnosed with malaria, doesn't mean my Lo will have jaundice as i was seeing up there...THAT exactly is my point.
Health › Re: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Rekhi(f):
MamaOO:
Right sis. I’m not at all convinced that jaundice can be caused by malaria at all. I didn’t take any malaria meds while pregnant, but granted malaria isn’t prevalent where I live. When my first child was hospitalized, my SIL told me not to wear him yellow outfits cos it might make the jaundice worse cheesy cheesy
Yes,that the yellow outfits will affect the eyes is our mothers' belief...I'm in Nigeria, got pregnant, waddled through and gave birth in Nigeria where malaria is prevalent...Anyone can get malaria, and should be treated for it..But malaria drugs and jaundice doesn't relate at all..and dat a doctor gave u anti malaria drugs cos u were having it doesn't mean i have to take it while not having it too...tor,i rest my case
Health › Re: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Rekhi(f): 6:39pm On Mar 18, 2021
MamaOO:
For both of my kids, it was caused by ABO incompatibility. I’m blood type O, my husband is blood type B and both my baby boys came out sharing their dads blood type B. During pregnancy and birth, the mom’s immune system might detect the baby’s unfamiliar blood protein antigens and create antibodies to fight the unfamiliar protein in the baby’s blood. This immune response causes the baby’s red blood cells to break down after its born and that’s what causes jaundice in babies who’s blood type is different from their mom’s.
God bless u million times for this...was about writing this wn i saw ur input....Wondering where these mamas got their fact that malaria drugs should be taken compulsorily during pregnancy, even when u ain't having malaria...I don't take any malaria drug during my LOs pregnancy(why should i do when i have no malaria?)..and there was NO jaundice..

Pls help me out, my 7 month old baby does not want to swallow any form of cereal , have tried adult food ,she spits it out
Her weight is also bothering me, she's just 8kg , the twin is 10.2
Actually,if u practised exclusive breastfeeding for them, being 7months old is still early for them to like these adult foods...Patience is the key but still continue giving it to her, with time she'll like it...And about the weight,i am mama twin too,,they don't usually have same weight and their feeding habit can be really different(For peace of mind, double each adorable's birthweight,if the result tally with the current weight,do not disturb ur mind, they will be fine)...but if the gap bothers u,u can see ur paediatrician...kisses to ur adorables
