On May 17, 2016, after Fulani herdsmen attacked Agwabi village in Binev Council Ward in Buruku Local Government Area of the state, Governor Ortom ordered them to vacate.

September 23, 2016, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, ordered herdsmen to leave Benue before the army launches another attack against them.

March 13, 2017, Governor Samuel Ortom ordered Fulani herdsmen out of Buruku and Logo local government areas.

Troops of 22 Brigade Nigerian Army on Operation LAFIYA DOLE have during a fighting patrol earlier today(yesterday), cleared Boko Haram out of Gujari village, Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. This followed an information about the convergence of the terrorists at area aiming to launch attack on some of the nearby communities.

During the operation, the troops neutralized 2 Boko Haram terrorist while an unspecified number escaped with gun shot wounds into thick forest. At the location, the troops  discovered and destroyed a tailoring shed. They also recovered 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade Bomb, 3 DaneGuns, 1 Double Barrel Pump Action Gun, 2 Bandoliers, 23 Empty cases of Shilka Gun Ammunition, 2 Initiation water container and 1 Motorcycle battery. Others include 1 Search light, 4 Knives, 1 Solar Panel, 2 Jerrycans of 25 Litres of Automated Gas Oil, a Sewing machine and 12 Food flasks, as well as food items, soft drinks, pairs of women's shoes and several clothing items.

Borno State Deputy Gov HE Hon Usman Durkwa on behalf of Borno State Governor HE Gov Kashim Shettima visited the scene where Boko Haram terrorists attacked Magumeri town yesterday 15/3/2017 at about 5:30pm.

They attacked only police station & Nigeria Army base in Magumeri.One soldier was killed while another sustained injuries.Also one armoured car was burnt down,other cars & the car of the DPO of Magumeri were also destroyed by Boko Haram.

According to Egboje who shared the news,at least 18 people burnt beyond recognition in a terrible accident that occurred few days ago along Akure highway.He wrote....

'No fewer than 18 people were roasted to death in an autocrash which occurred along Akure-Owo road. The accident which happened around 5pm occured at Uso area of the road leaving the victims burnt beyond recognition. My correspondent in Owo confirmed to me that the two buses loaded fully with passengers colluded with a truck that is loaded with petrol. Fire started immediately and many of the victims were trapped in the accident resulting into their death. Some of the victims were students of a institution from Osun who were on excursion.Federal Road Safety Commission and Fire Service of Ondo State sector were all helpless but they tried as they can but people burnt beyond recognition'

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose at the Oke Bareke governor’s office, Ado-Ekiti on Friday, 10th March 2017 signed a condolence register opened in memory of a former military governor of the defunct Western Region and the leader of the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), Major-General Robert Adeyinka Adebayo.

The governor who in his remarks after signing the register said  the legacies of the first military governor of the Western State will speak for him added that rather than mourn the late leader, his demise would be celebrated.

From the little I could understand from the story shared in Hausa by Zuma Times,suspected ritualists Rijau local government area of Niger State and slaughtered four young boys in an Islamic school, then made away with their blood. The ritualists believed to be looking for fresh human blood stormed the Islamic school around and attacked five boys, slit their throats and drained their blood.Three of the boys died instantly while a fourth passed away hours later.The fifth is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.Our Hausa readers should please explain more via a screenshot above

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, on Thursday, joined a group of Northern Christian Women to pray for the speedy recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The prayer session took place in the Speaker's office when the Christian women leaders from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), paid the him a courtesy visit at the National Assembly.

Dogara expressed faith that God will answer the prayer and restore the president to full health, saying, "Because we have prayed, God in heaven will answer us. In fact,He is not answering us, He is honouring His word."

Dogara, while addressing the women, urged them to live in fulfillment of the demands of Christ Jesus by showing love to everyone irrespective of faith and tribe, adding that love begets peace and only in peace can development be achieved and faith practices without fear or restrictions.

"Love without restrictions. Love your neigbours in fulfilment of Christ's command. Do not restrict your love to only Christians, also show love to Muslims and people of other faith."

Earlier, the delegation of women commended the Speaker for his passion for alleviating the sufferings of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and resettlement of the displaced.

Leader of the team, Mrs Leah Solomon Lucy, also used the occasion of the courtesy call to express concern that northern Christian women have not been getting appointments in the present government and to appeal that they should be included in upcoming appointments.

She also lamented that insurgency has left many of their members widows and childless, noting that though terrorism has been defeated greatly in the north, people are still being killed.

They also prayed for the speedy recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari and wished the acting president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, a belated happy birthday.
