Travel / Lion Attacks A Lady Tourist In Zimbabwe Who Posed For Pictures(pics) by rem44: 12:26pm On Feb 15, 2017
Below is what Zambezi Reporters shared......

'Tourist is mauled by a LION that pounced on her from bushes as she posed for pictures on safari in Zimbabwe

Officers say the woman was leaning on a fence when the caged white lion spotted her and raked his gigantic paws down her hip and arm.

The pair had been enjoying the views on a day out together and were taking pictures of the lion enclosure, believing the beasts were further away.

But the white lion was actually just hidden among bushes and pounced as her unnamed boyfriend captured the picture.It is believed she is still in hospital receiving treatment.

The wildlife conservation park boasts zebra, lions, giraffes as well as others and is a sanctuary for older animals who can no longer be in the wild'.

Crime / Suya Hawker Killed In Kaduna & Dumped In A Shallow Pit (Photos) by rem44: 2:39pm On Feb 14, 2017
As shared by Dan Iyan who lives in Kaduna.......

'This is the remains of late Aminu Ayuba a butcher and Suya hawker who was killed in cold blood and dumped in a shallow well behind Kaduna State University , Kafanchan.

This should add to the existing records that contrary the claim by Sokapu and Southern Kaduna CAN that they are facing genocide rather it is some of their members that are perpetrating cold blood murder of innocent citizens who are out in search of legitimate means of livelihoods .

Few weeks ago traders were surrounded and killed at Samaru Kataf Market, similarly travellers from Dangi plateau state were killed at garage Kafanchan.

On top of all these some miscreants attacked His Royal Highness the Emir of Jema'a on his way from Kaduna at Samaru Kataf

On these crimes SOKAPU and CAN are silent but we are appealing to the Nigerian security agencies , the Peace Committee, National Assembly , the media and the diplomatic community to note these and more on which we have a case of gross violation of our Fundamental Human Rights in Southern Kaduna.

The Kafanchan Community must remain calm law abiding and take the corps to the mortuary pending investigation by govt. Agencies .

A report should be made to the Police immediately in writing .

May his soul rest in peace. Allah ya Isa'

Politics / Military Foundation Laid By El-Rufai & Buratai Destroyed By Unknown People (Pics by rem44: 1:17pm On Feb 11, 2017
El-Rufai frowns at the destruction of the Military Foundation Laying Structure in Southern Kaduna

The Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai on Saturday 11th of February 2017, frowned at the destruction of the foundation laying structure of the proposed Nigerian Army Battalion in Southern Kaduna.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai and Governor El-Rufai had last week laid the foundation for the establishment of the battalion at Ungwan Yashi area of Zangon Kataf Local Government as a response to the incessant killings occurring in Southern Kaduna since 1980.

El-Rufai in a response to the destruction by unknown persons described the situation as "unfortunate, and further confirms that the conflict entrepreneurs are determined to continue to create obstacles and setback to our stabilization and peace building efforts."

The Governor in a statement was quoted as saying:

“I received the news with shock over the unfortunate destruction of foundation laying structure of the proposed Nigerian Army battalion in Southern Kaduna. The very structure we erected to establish the long-awaited Army Barracks to assist promotion of peace and end the decades of senseless bloodletting in the southern part of Kaduna State.

“The situation is unfortunate, condemnable and a setback to the government's communal stabilization and  peace building efforts, but we will not be deterred. We urge our people that cherish peaceful coexistence to  continue to be resilient, focused and resolute in overcoming antics of forces of darkness and evil. Those that did this are determined to derail the contributions of the security agencies, having failed to spread their tentacles of hate, bigotry and penchant for divisiveness.

“I want to use this medium to appeal to all men and women of conscience to remain firm and optimistic, while government in collaboration with security agencies, civil society, religious and traditional institutions will continue to work assiduously for peace and security of life and property.

“Finally, all those that have their hands in the destruction of this structure will not go free. The security agencies will fish out the perpetrators, and those found to be involved, or engaged in omissions that led to the destruction of public property will be brought to justice without fear or favour.”

As shared by Kerry Haruna who lives in Lokoja......

'Look at this woman, take a good look at her face, zoom the picture properly and digest her face. Have you done that? Good. That is the face of pure evil, Crude and Unrefined wickedness.

This is Mrs Rebecca Omacho. She is the Executive Secondary, Kogi State Scholarship Board. Living with Mrs Rebecca is her little niece favor whom she stopped from going to school. Favor had to sneak out to attend school, and when she got back, The evil Rebecca acted out her crude wickedness.

She put a stone on the fire, and allowed to get hot very, she removed it with a napkin and placed it on little Favor's leg, resulting in severe burns to her leg.

Surprisingly, this wicked women was begging that photos of her shouldn't be made public as it will affect her career, she only has one year to retire from the civil service. Of course, he plea was rejected by the authorities of the ministry of women affairs and Social Development.

The case has since been reported to the police for further investigation...

This is pure evil, how can a woman ever nurture such idea towards any human being, let alone a child. Nawa o'

A Facebook user met him selling his products around Utako, Abuja.According to him,he added Alhaji to his name because he wants to visit Saudi Arabia some day.

I see many healthy looking people begging on the streets relying on passerby to provide their needs but Aliyu sells his goods on wheelchair.

He is such an inspiration!

Education / DSS Beats Up Teachers In Calabar For Flogging A Student (Photos) by rem44: 1:54pm On Feb 04, 2017
DSS INVASION OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GIRLS COLLEGE CALABAR AND WHY WE SHOULD ALL LIFT UP OUR VOICES AND WAIL

I got a call in the morning of Thursday, February 2 from Architect Njor Ntangha Tabi, a staff of Federal Government Girls College, Calabar. He sounded agitated, frightened and incoherent. He was trying to say something about DSS, students, teachers, beatings, bullets and gunshots.

I tried calming him down but it wasn't working. Incidentally I was in Calabar for another assignment. I told him I will head out to the school once I was done with my assignment. That didn't happened until hours later.

When I got to the school, it was late in the evening. I met a rattled bunch of teachers, all trying to tell me what happened at the same time. A trained lawyer should know he won't get the gist of what happened in such an excited babble. I just gleaned what I could and scheduled a visit to the scene the following day and a series of interview in a temporary office they agreed to arrange for me.

Friday. 3rd February. I went to the scene and held a series of interview and came face to face with the grandfather of all impunity and the most bizarre thing that ever happened in an academic institution since man started learning how to read and write.

Mr Owai Owai, a Civic Education teacher of over 17 years standing came to class that fateful Thursday morning and found a junior student sweeping the class of the SS3 students when classes was going on in the class of the junior, against the school rules that junior students should not be found sweeping the classes of seniors during school periods.

Mr Owai was able to fish out about 10 seniors who asked the juniors to sweep their class during school period contrary to school regulations. He punished the seniors by flogging them on their palms, 2 strokes of the cane each.

One of the the seniors, Grace Loveth Asuquo, grabbed the teacher by the collar of his shirt, protesting her flogging. The teacher was shocked and gave her more strokes for her action. She told the teacher in front of the students that her parents will burn down the school today and stormed out of the class.

Mr Owai continued teaching, unknown to him that Grace has called her mum, who called her sister that is a DSS operative. Half way through the class, the student's mum, her aunt who is a DSS operative and another man, stormed the class, gestapo-style, took the teacher's canes and flogged him mercilessly before his alarmed students.

When the canes broke from the trashing of hapless Mr Owai, they descended on his frail frame and rained torrents of blows and kicks on him. The screams of the students alerted the teachers who came to the rescue.

Grace's DSS operative aunt called for reinforcement and before you can say "poor education funding", 3 Hilux load of DSS operatives stormed the school.

The operatives went berserk and started shooting sporadically and hitting teachers with anything they could find: blows, kicks, stones, gun butts! Several teachers sustained injuries from the assault and battery.

Some ran into adjoining bushes and farms to save their lives. Some of the teachers started taking pictures and videoing. When the DSS operatives found out, they went after them, forcefully collecting their phones and further brutalising them. Phones, monies, glasses and other valuables were taken away by the operatives.

When they were driving out, they found the gate locked. They beat up the security men and shut the padlock open! They abducted the student, Grace Loveth Asuquo and left the school premises.

The entire staff and students of Federal Government Girls College community are traumatized and frightened. Classes didn't hold on Friday, February 3rd because of this.

When did we get here and how? The DSS, trained, armed and paid with tax payers money; using the arms we bought for them to harass our teachers before our children. What is this?

The management and staff of the school has instructed me to demand the following:

1. A written public apology from DSS published on NTA, Radio Nigeria and 4 national dailies.

2. An oral apology given at the Assembly Ground before staff and students

3. Outright dismissal and prosecution of the operatives involved in this barbaric act.

4. To foot the hospital bills of all staff who sustained injuries during the assault.

5. To return/pay for all lost or damaged items like phones, monies, glasses, etc

6. Replace the damaged school gate

7. Pay a 10 million naira compensation to the school.

I have the further instruction of the staff to file a suit in a court of competent jurisdiction to seek for redress and damages.

We must all wail against the excesses of our law enforcement agents. Their duty is to protect us and not to intimidate us. A formal petition has been lodged with the appropriate authorities. But there is something we can do here: let's stand up and shout against this barbaric intimidation by the DSS, if we don't stand up now, there might be no one left to stand tomorrow.

Celebrities / Charly Boy Writes On Biafra Struggle,Say Ibos Problem Is Nt PMB,Calls Kanu Pikin by rem44: 4:48pm On Jan 29, 2017
Charly Boy has taken to social media to air his view about Biafran struggle.According to him,Igbos should blame their leaders for their fate in Nigeria.He also urged Igbos to work for a better Nigeria.Below is what he wrote...

'Biafra.

I guess its about time I break my silence on "Biafra".
From 1967 to 1970 my youth was scandalised with the horrors of the Nigerian civil war.
If you have watched on CNN the war in SyriaI you will dig where am coming from.
I was never on the front line as a fighting soldier in Biafra, but I was in the boys’ brigade transmitting from the naval headquarters then in Oguta.
With the daily air raids and the smell of death all around us, we were thankful everyday we managed to stay alive.

I remember a sight that have never left me till today at the tail end of the civil war. I was walking down the street on my way to the stream to fetch water, lo and behold was the sound of death (air raids). As we all ran in different direction looking for a safe place to take cover, I turned around to figure the direction my friends were running in. All of a sudden I saw the head of one off them yanked off the body, as a result of the fighter jets that killed innocent civilians for fun, what a horrible sight for a 17yr old.
I saw people practically dropping dead every day, not only from the bombs, but from hunger.
I thank God am alive to tell this story.
Who no go, no know.

I am a proud Igbo man, a home boy and a native fowl. No demo. My friends call me Igbotic not because am a nerd, or a jewman. But because I represent and symbolise all the characteristics of a typical igbo man pre the civil war. The Igbos may have short circuited their political growth, but it doesn't take away the fact that we are great Nigerians. I have learnt to be more Igbotic than I ever expected. As an igbo man, I have learnt to be more profitable in the things that I do. I have perfected the art of being tenacious in any dream I chase; to be industrious, consistent and powerfully focused. All the lessons I learnt from my brothers in the tribe have made me dogged, hardworking and exhibiting the ability and capacity to survive in any kind of weather. I am an original Nwa Biafra.

Needless to say that the igbo man is known to be one of the most entrepreneurial mind in the country. So it is particularly pathetic and unfortunate when some ignorant youths talk about Biafra, as if it is that simple. History should teach us that Nationhood is Bloody, Hard and almost impossible when fantasy is the currency of demand. Even as Nigerians, see how our docility is killing our humanity. Didn't the fall of Biafra after the genocide and the suffering of my people teach us anything? Haven't we been marginalised enough? I Believe the Failure of the igbo nation is the fault of the people elites and decision makers. Why have we not poured our energy, capacity and Ability into making the South East the Dubai of the Nation as well as the engine room of the Nigerian Economy? Who would be our leaders when the south east is infested with political power grabbers, 419ers, mindless criminals and looters of our commonwealth and resources? Need I mention names?

See how we have migrated to different parts of Nigeria and the world which is good, made it home and developed our immediate environment. Why are we neglecting our home base, why are we running away from developing the South East?

Our problem may not after all be the man in Aso Rock from Daura or the ordinary Hausa or Yoruba man on the Streets of Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Warri or Ogbomosho. The problem is the lack of men of integrity and a progressive mind set. We lack the right kind of leadership that will fight for the interest of the People. Let it be clear to all that the suffering of the People from the South East is also the suffering of the people from the other geopolitical zones in Nigeria. It is therefore retrospectively insane to begin to think that a people with a problem would suddenly be relieved when they are attached with a tag BIAFRA; Hummmm that easy? Now how do you begin to imagine that while the agitation for the state of Biafra is being demanded by the gullible Igbo youths, those who have been or are in position of authority are either not interested or are continuing their expansive investments in other part of Nigeria? Who dem dey deceive? They divide us daily with Religion, Tribalism, Ethnicity and Petty Bigotry even among the Tribes and Ethnic composition in the South East there is divisiveness. Why is Namdi Kanu yet to be realised?

Have we even considered that the population of my people from the south east outside the Region is twice the population of those in the south east? How can we who are supposed to be looking at making the South East the centralised Industrial Hub of the Nigeria Nation be the ones who are driving a wedge of unrealistic fantasy between Nigeria and our own people? As it stands, we have no choice but to sing the localisation and Nigerianazation song. Guess what, we the Igbos should be the ones to drive the narrative, because We Can.. Why are some of my people busy creating or Poisoning the environment that are ordinarily designed to favour that which will promote the industrialization of the South East. Why have we become the enemy of our own home? Why hasn't the "think home mentality” arrested every igbo billionaires and millionaires? Why are we eliminating the chances of Ibonising the Nigerian Economy by Nationalizing the Igbo Thought for a United and Prosperous Nigeria as well as for the benefits of all?

I cannot STAND here and tell you there are no problems of trust in Nigeria. I will be the last to say that the Igbo nation has not undergone persecution. I will be foolish to ignore the hunger that was used as a tool to starve the Igbo Nation during the civil war. I am perfectly in the know about the problems of the Nigeria structure, Abeg make we know our History but use am to work today to perfect tomorrow.

No one can argue the facts, and the facts are clear. The major problem of the Igbo Nation is also the major issue with the Nigeria State. 'The Mindset'. The Mind must first be liberated, the thoughts must be harmonised and the people of the South East, my dear brothers and sisters must know that the development of the region is horrible because the leaders in the region have failed. Politically, Religiously, Societally and Communally. Over the past decades; where is the Accountability from the leadership with regards;

1. FAAC;

2. IGR;

3. LOCAL BONDS;

4. FOREIGN DEVELOPMENTAL LOANS;

5. AIDS; GRANTS & BUDGETARY SUPPORT;

6. THE MANY FEDERAL PROJECTS IN THE REGION etc

The Failure of Leadership is evident in our agitation for Fairness, Justice and Equality for every Nigerian not just for every Igbo man. And so the Mind of the typical Igbo Leader Needs a Revolution to be realigned for the Interest of the People rather than the interest of their pockets. Is Biafra the Solution, you decide.
So, Igbo ndi Oma. Let's focus on our home land and begin to demand accountability and responsibility from many of our Scammers, Riffraff’s and Fraudsters in the Igbo Kingdom called leaders. Let's us pause on Biafra for now. Let's us dutifully work ourselves back into reckoning, by industrialising our home base.

I know we can, and we should.

I also urge Mr President to show mercy on our brother Nnamdi Kanu; Him be Pikin.

Biafra, my Igboticness is always on my mind because #OURMUMUDONDO'
