I was expecting something like this you said!

or more like "Diya is not a Yoruba name... both his parents are Igbo and they gave him Yoruba name because he came to Yoruba land and we (kind yorubas) gave him free food for his belly, clothing for his back and a roof (no pun intended)over his head..."

.
Greensaint:
But diya did not cry in real life. It was in a movie ''Political-Generals of the naija'' when nolly wood was still in its infancy. Call all-must tafa to verify.

I agree with you; but you know what?

if it wasn't mentioned, you'd see this thread will be on page 10 with posters saying it must have been an Igbo General...

I mean.... although his region was stated in the article as south-west, yet some embarrassed ones are already denying the General....

again, if it was left to speculation...

and though it is given that the record is clear on:

1. General Ogundepe (running away from responsibility - out of Nigeria - during a coup),
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babafemi_Ogundipe

2. General Obasanjo (taking a bullet in his bum-cheek, for leading from his rear during the civil war; and being MIA during a coup years later)
See: http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/06/20/obasanjo-was-a-clueless-war-commander-gen-alabi-isama/

3. General Adekunli (fleeing, scared for his life, after losing 21,500 of the 35,000 "strong" men he was leading from the rear)
See: https://www.google.ca/?gws_rd=ssl

4. General Diya (weeping profusely and shitting his camouflage,)
See: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/1076194.stm

5. Lt. Colonel Adebayo Obasanjo, a commander I believe: fleeing rag tag BK, fearful to take one in his rear like his father
See: http://allafrica.com/stories/201409111538.html

...it is a safe bet to place that an anonymous General wey dey fear fear will be from a certain part of the country...

it still beats me why or how some civilians can through their ewedu-stenched breath call others names!
HopeAtHand:
Yorubas naturally love to enjoy
life..and one has to be alive to enjoy.

The military is not for faint hearted. And frankly, the journalist shouldnt have pointed out the home region of the general, its not what we need at this point in time.

Yes, sir!

Salute, sir! ;d ;d ;d
shymexx:
Stark illiterate, stop going on a tangent. This isn't about Biafra. If you want to discuss that, create a new thread.

Now, go back to the article and read all the communities (more than five of them) under the high command of the alleged General. And they all represent different front lines, with battalions. So, the commanders in question, who ran into the bushes are going to be Lt Colonels - under the high command.

That is a little education about military formations to you, vacuous weasel.

Yes, the General should be court-martialled, for the performance of the troops. But the title is misleading. Now run along!

warrior01:
Wait o! Who provided shelter for who? Are you not ashamed that your lazy a.rses will sit and a total stranger will come and within some years will even be begged to buy up your father's compound and take you in as a tenant on a subsidized rate. Can you imagine people that have sold up their lands and rights providing shelter for Igbos.
PoliticsRe: Bama:Military Orders Arrest Of General For Running Into Bush With Troops In Fear by Remarkable: 3:27am On Oct 06, 2014
... "they lead from the rear indeed.... speak for Yoruba "Generals" alone... no doubt Adekunli you mentioned was "leading from the rear" when he gave three quarters of his men to Biafran men before he fled half-naked on foot all the way from Igboland to Port Harcourt!

Please no real soldiers or commanders are to "lead from their rear"... I mean from "the rear" lol...

shymexx:
Only when the war becomes complex, and there is desperation. Even with that, they lead from the rear.

However, this is an insurgency, and they are using battalions, which should be headed by Lt Colonels. And in no place did the article state anything about the alleged General running. He was just accused of poor leadership, perhaps due to the corruption in the Naija Army and he deserves the court martial treatment for putting the soldiers' lives at risk.

You lot need to stop this nonsense of creating misleading titles. And it is also poor journalism from whoever the source is, for citing the part of the country the General is from, when his name can't be mentioned for obvious reasons.
PoliticsRe: Bama:Military Orders Arrest Of General For Running Into Bush With Troops In Fear by Remarkable: 3:18am On Oct 06, 2014
You just called someone a stark illiterate, but one can't help but wonder if you were able to read the following:

"... a source said: “Commanders of troops are supposed to lead soldiers from the frontline but what we discovered is that most of the commanders operate and give orders from the rear."

Or is it a comprehension problem?

Talk about one finger pointing at another when 3 are pointing right back at you!

shymexx:
Stark illiterate, did you actually read the article, or just jumped to conclusion after reading the misleading title?

So, in your obtuse mind, Generals in the military fight on the frontline, or the alleged person here is being accused of not providing proper leadership for the troops.

And when the same Yoruba Generals like Adekunle the Scorpion start killing you fvckers now, you will start shedding emotional tears everywhere about genocide. Scandalous primeval slut and a stark illiterate.

Army Swore Vengeance For Beheaded Pilot, Issues New Order
1 hour ago
The Defence Headquarters, Abuja, has sworn to avenge the death of a pilot of the Nigeria Air Force who was claimed to have been beheaded in a new video released by Boko Haram.

The Nation reports that DHQ in a reaction to the incident ordered massive air strikes on the Boko Haram sect, as well as take delivery of Cobra gunships soonest.

Nigerian soldiers

The order was given after the DHQ had earlier on Friday debunked the claims of the pilot being killed by theterrorists, but friends of the pilot on Saturday, took the social media and made clarifications that it was indeed the pilot that was killed. The friends who called themselves the Nigerian Army Support Group gave the name of the deceased pilot as Chimda Hedima, a 39-year-old Wing Commander with the Nigerian Air Force.

READ ALSO: Nigeria Army Aircraft Used Against Boko Haram Lost

The friends who described the deceased as a true Nigerian hero revealed that on September 11, 2014, troops of Nigerian Army were trying to overrun terrorists position in Borno State, but as a result of low altitude, the plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists’ gunfire and the Wing Commander Hedima and his colleague knew they were going to crash.

“They, instead of hurriedly parachuting to safety within Nigerian controlled territory, chose to embark on a mission to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but not before ensuring their plane slammed into a column of terrorists; 63 Boko Haram members were killed as a result of their bravery. Wing Commander Hedima was captured. On 12/09/14, he was killed. He chose Nigeria, he chose all of us. We cannot forget him. Please share his story. His name should be known by everyone. Rest in peace, Commander, we are grateful. May you find eternal peace. Thank you for your service,” the friends said.

READ ALSO: Another 60 Soldiers To Be Arraigned For Mutiny

However, the DHQ on Saturday assured Nigerians that aside it’s missing pilot, soldiers would continue to engage the terrorists and decisively put an end to their activities.

A military source who spoke on condition of anonymity said: “In spite of whatever the insurgents may claim, I can tell you that the battle has shifted more to the air than land. The military has ordered more air strikes against all the positions or camps of Boko Haram. We will bombard the insurgents into submission. They cannot intimidate our jet fighters. As a matter of fact, more pilots are willing to join the aerial raid. It is going to be a battle to the finish. More fighter jets have been deployed in the relevant areas in strategic manner. The purported shooting down of 10 aircraft is a hoax.”

Alleged Nigerian pilot minutes before execution

The source while answering a question from the journalist said: “We are not only after those who claimed to have beheaded a pilot; we will deal with all the leaders of the sect and their members. We have the capacity to take the battle to them. We will engage these insurgents and overcome them.”

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the Nigerian military has already given an order to AH-1 Cobra helicopters for attacks on Boko Haram enclaves in Sambisa Forest and the hilly terrains of Gwoza and Madagali in Borno and Adamawa states.

According to another source within the DHQ, the AH-1 Cobra helicopters are good for the terrain in the North-East, especially as it has also been used by several other countries like the United States, adding that other countries have used gunships in the past.

“The Cobra helicopters were deployed by the US during the Vietnam War. The situation in Sambisa Forest could be likened to what was then obtainable in Vietnam,” the source said War. The AH-1, with the company designation: model 209 is a two-blade, single engine attack helicopter produced by Bell Helicopter. It was constructed using the engine, transmission and rotor system of the Bell’s UH-1 Iroquois.

It would be recalled the on October 3, 2014, a new video produced by Boko Haram shows beheading of a pilot from a missing Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jet.

Don't go there

I am trying as much as possible to be diplomatic here, but I won't let this misplacement of the meaning of "fled" pass.

Brigadier Ogundipe went underground in the event of mutiny (courtesy: Mohammed, Danjuma)...called back to represent the Nigeria in the UK until his death in 1971.

Have you heard of "live to fight another day"? Obasanjo got a bullet wound, but fought till the war ended.

Adekunle fought, then "lived to fight another day"

Losing a battle is not the same as losing the war, they don't mean the same thing. Ojukwu left the country, because he couldn't finish what he started, could not risk being captured neither can he do the needful, like Hitler did, he could only come back after the state pardon...He lost the war.

I am taking time to understand the point you are tyring to make, help me explain this part of what you wrote, as bolded above....

Adekunli fought to live and fight another day...

you vex o!

BackDatAssUp:
God Punish the useless bastard mod that hid my post.

You did not see the outright display of hate and mockery of innocent children here but chose to delete my post.

As I said YORUBAS ARE THE PROBLEM.

Yorubas instituted corruption, nepotism and tribalism in the Civil Service after the civil war. The spoils of war dictated that they occupy the civil service. Guess how that turned out. If the Hausa/Fulani can be blamed for years of rot because they occupied the top spot, the Yorubas should bear full responsibility as well because they were the technocrats and civil servants.

Yorubas Pioneered drug trafficking in the 70's and they are still heavily invovled in it. While other tribes can't be exempted from this form of criminality and National image tainting, the Yorubas are by far more shameless in the game as majority of drug couriers invovle respected personalities within the Yoruba society. Assiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu started off as a drug mule and then rose to be a major drug traffiker. Even the demograph of drug mules till this day reflect the corrupt mentality of the Yoruba people with Middle aged women and men and celebrities forming the bulk of traffickers from that region. In essence, the Yoruba middle and upper class have more drug tainted individuals than other tribes. This is in stark opposite to the average young hustler from the east stereotype hoping to eke a livelihood.

Yorubas are also known for armed robberies, serial rapists, touts, gangsterism and ritual killings. The self description of a sophisticated race is nothing but a myth. Yoruba politicians are touts and quick to use violence to attain power. Compare the Osun elections to that of Anambra. There were over 10 candidates of significant weight and sway in the Anambra elections but not a single case of political violence or death was recorded in the build up to the election. Compare that to the Osun elections with cases of violence and recorded deaths over some back water voodoo enclave position. The police intercepted some government sponsored touts from Osun who where sent to cause mayhem. They are still rotting in jail as I type.

Here are a list of some other notable Yoruba cultural contributions to Nigeria;

1. Omonile (a bunch of lazy touts claiming indegene harassing property developers for money)

2. Face me I face you architecture. 20 rooms with one toilet.

3. Pure water retailing

4. Tap water retailing.

5. Pomo

6. Danfo and Molue

7. Motor Park touts. Virtually all the touts in Abuja are Yorubas from Osun. Go figure.

8. Ritual killings and voodoo. Hardly is there not any venture a yoruba man does not refer to his voodoo for assistance. Be it wooing a woman or keeping her in check (magun), getting a promotion or getting rid of the competition.

9. Yorubas have the highest GDP of Bastards. Ask Tuface. With 4 baby mamas, 3 are yoruba. Tuface did well to marry the lone calabar girl. Almost all scandals involve yoruba women and hardly is there any celebrity who has a child out of wedlock whose babymama isnt yoruba.

10. Yorubas are dirty. This is not debatable as this is obviously fact.

11. Yorubas invented child hawking.

12. Yorubas use children to beg

13. Yoruba men and women have the highest case of infidelity and divorce.

14. Yorubas destroyed Britain and Ireland with their welfare claiming lazy bums.

so they lost because Igbos didn't vote for them?

so the 3rd place Ojukwu got in the presidential race, the votes he got was from yorubas, hausas and other Nigerians, save for Igbos?
