Politics / Benue Zone C Youths Frown At Attacks On The Zone's Personalities by renzo2016: 3:45pm On Jul 26, 2023
We will no longer tolerate asphyxiation targeted at our prominent sons, daughters – Benue South youths warns

The Coalition of Zone C Youths has noted with dismay the incessant sponsored attacks on personalities of Benue South extraction by sponsored groups with the target to malign and ridicule their person and offices.

The coalition which is made up of reputable and renowned Civil Society chiefs and Rights activists from Benue South Senatorial district while making their position known at a press conference Wednesday averred that the need for cohesion across political party and other lines of cohesion cannot be over emphasized as it is time for governance.

Speaking on behalf of the group, President of Ochetoha K'Idoma Youth Wing, Comrade Gideon Obande noted that a House divided against itself cannot stand making it sacrosanct that driving the maximum benefits of democracy to the Benue South will be nearly impossible without team work.

“It has come to our knowledge in recent times that the personality cum office of the Benue State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Lamin Danladi Lawrence is conspicuously in the news for blackmails and same being sponsored by unscrupulous person(s), particularly from her own Local Government of Ado; who out of political ignorance about this historic position vested on one of our daughters, a Girl Child turned Woman from amongst the larger female folks of our Zone, have generated political tension.

“It is sad that individuals cum groups have arrogated to themselves powers undue them by continuously meddling with an issue before the court of competent jurisdiction; an act considered to be unruly and absurd.
[img][/img]
“We the Coalition of Zone C Youths, have thought it very necessary to issue this stern caution in a bid to deter these elements of 'Pull Down Syndrome', whether they be Political Office holders from Ado LGA and Zone C in general; whether they are Politically motivated or not, to desist forthwith or face the reaction from the masses!

“We acknowledge and know that the Deputy Speaker, possesses requisite qualifications, capacity and charisma which is responsible for her current status as Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly; we therefore pass a 100% Vote of Confidence on Rt Hon Lami Danladi Lawrence
The coalition while restating their resolve to protect the interest of the entire Zone C, acknowledged that her Office is not only for Ado People, but the entire State, a point for which they called on the Ado people in particular, to know that through one of their Daughters, God has made history for the people of Zone C.

“Therefore, on beholves of the determining Youths of the Zone for which we represent we advise and caution all those creating Political animosities and sponsoring tension to desist from such and rather synergize with her and other office holders for the development of Zone C and the entire Benue State.

“We have taken time to study the antecedents of Blackmailers, who even in time past blackmailed the present Secretary to the Government of the Federation-SGF of having no certificate nor qualifications to be Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; we are also aware that despite being political office holder(s), blackmailing people of, and with different political views from their selfish perceptions and assumptions have not seized.

“They stereotype, stigmatization and attempt dehumanized the Female Folks and tag them as inferior humans in various blackmails are obsolete in this 21st century.
“Elections are over, governance for growth and development of our land should thrive under siren Political atmosphere of oneness as disenchanted persons have the court to attend to their yearnings.” He adds.

The group noted that the Office of the Deputy Speaker, is for the entire Benue State and not a Political Party nor Ado LGA's Affairs, and by virtue of her Office, she is now the number 4th citizen of the State which makes her Leader of Ado LGA.”

Crime / NSCDC Under Audi And The Need For Increased Funding by renzo2016: 12:03pm On Jul 07, 2023
NSCDC Under Audi and the Need for Increased Funding

By Sunday Attah

Nigeria has gone through a lot in the last decade in terms of maintaining peace and security for citizens within its vast lands made up of 36 states and 774 local governments.

In the last decade, Nigeria has been confronted with threatening security challenges that included terrorism, insurgency, banditry, communal clashes, economic crimes, pipeline vandalisation, theft of crude oil among many others.

With the various security agencies each focusing on its core mandate, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) registered its relevance in collaborating to achieve peace and security for the nation through many initiatives that included, investigations, surveillance, safeguarding and protecting of national assets as well other civil interventions.

As observed by the former National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Mungono (rtd), "the survival and security of every nation and the quality of life of its citizens largely depend on the functionality of its critical national assets and infrastructure and any attack on these assets and infrastructure will have adverse effect on national security."

This highlights why the role of the NSCDC has become very relevant in the overall equation for maintaining peace and order.

National assets form the infrastructure for running the economy and engaging the citizenry in productive ventures as well as foreign exchange earner.

With these enormous roles, it is expected that the National Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) would be well equipped with adequate and qualified personnel to carry out its statutory mandate more so as it is the lead agency in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.

Over the years, the corps has engaged pipeline oil vandals, oil thieves, illegal oil refinery operators, oil bunkerers and others in the course of safeguarding national assets.

But the corps which has done very well since the coming of the current Commander General, Dr. Ahmed Audi,
still has lots of grounds to cover to achieve its target and these has to do mainly with spreading its tentacles to achieve results.

In the year 2022, the NSCDC proposed a budget of N110 billion to cater for both capital and recurrent expenditure from which it is required to carry out it's statutory functions that include protection of pipelines from vandalism, crisis resolutions and providing adequate security.

With six directorates, eight zones, three institutions and many capital projects to embark on and the much required for operations, funding for the agency is grossly inadequate and more needs to be done.

The CG going by his accomplishments since his appointment two years ago, has shown passion and commitment in repositioning the agency which emphasises the need for the corps to be fully funded for him to undertake the tasks ahead similarly to what a sister agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, is doing under the command of Rtd Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa.

The NSCDC boss has done very well within the two years he has been in office with the apprehension of hundreds of pipeline vandals, arrests of oil bunkerers, discovery of illegal refineries and many others.

Within the period, over 870 suspects have been arrested by men and officers of the NSCDC, out of which 580 have been convicted.

Similarly, pipeline vandalisation has reduced while oil bunkering syndicates and illegal refineries have been uncovered.

All these did not come about by accident but through the effective leadership of Dr. Audi who is more than determined to make both the citizens and state property safe.

This, he achieved by introducing reforms in all the areas of operations of the agency which include establishment of squads trained to tackle security challenges of kidnapping and abduction of school children for ransom, as well as prioritising training across all the state commands in drills, arm and weapon handling, counter terrorism surveillance and intelligence gathering.

He set up of the CG'S Special Intelligence Squad (CGSIS) with the mandate to carry out overt and convert intelligence operations to nip crime and criminal activities in the bud.

But the corps needs more personnel and equipment to cover Nigeria's vast ungoverned spaces and to subdue the criminals who are also armed.

It needs sophisticated weapons, operational vehicles, surveillance and intelligence driven equipment, gun boats, and other communication gadgets.

All these require funding but due to the central role being played by Dr. Audi and his staff, it would make economic sense for the CG to be supported by the current administration which is serious about revamping the country's economy.

Politics / S'west Group Hails NSCDC Boss, Audi, For Restoring Transparency In The Corps by renzo2016: 3:04am On Jul 04, 2023
S'West Group Hails NSCDC Boss, Audi, For Restoring Transparency in the Corps
...says it has contributed to government's revenue generation

The Southwest Democratic Front has applauded the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ahmed Abubakar Audi for his exemplary leadership and commitment towards staff welfare.

The group said the Commandant-General's efforts in bringin about transparency, accountability and professionalism in the NSCDC, has translated to enhanced revenue generation for the government.

At a press conference on Monday in Lagos, the National Coordinator, Engineer Olajide Tobi said as critical stakeholders in providing credible leadership in the country, the NSCDC boss has done tremendously well in the discharge of the organisation’s mandate.

The coordinator added that from the group’s numerous interactions with stakeholders in the security sector, the NSCDC has performed creditably well in its contributions to peace and security in Nigeria.

According to Olajide the Corps under the leadership of Ahmed Abubakar Audi had become more responsible and efficient in the discharge of its mandates following Audi’s dispositions and qualities.

"As a responsible organisation that deals with facts and not rumours or hearsay, we can state that CG Audi needs to be commended for his hardwork, commitment and bringing sanity to the corps.

"With men like Audi, the nation is on the path of getting it right in the area of security. Therefore, there is the growing need that people like Audi should be given more opportunities to function in public offices, if we must get our security right", he stated.

He further noted that Audi has eliminated nepotism, tribalism and favouritism as it is evident in posting of personnel to different South command of the federation.

He added that Audi's leadership also respected the Federal Character in the appointment, posting of state commandants and other officers.

"There were some issues bothering the professionalism in officers discharging their duties which Audi has been able to address under his leadership and that has given the corps a new facelift in the country and the corps today is competing with their counterparts around the world".

"We should not also forget that the NSCDC boss provided capacity building for the personnel, including the roll-out of operational vehicles and equipment, repositioning of the Private Guards Security Company and licensing of about 249 new Private Guards Companies, while also ensuring synergy with other national security agencies in tackling the security challenges bedevilling the country", he concluded.

Politics / NASS Speakership: Why The Cap Fits Betara by renzo2016: 4:18pm On Apr 26, 2023
By Nelson Alapa

With the election of our candidates, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima as President and Vice President respectively, on the mantra of renewed hope, the focus now shifts to the National Assembly where we must enthrone leaders with the capacity to renew our hopes and take our dear country out of the many problems that have continued to pose serious threat to our collective existence.

With a president – elect who is coming with a time-tested capacity in economy re-engineering, an antecedent of daring reforms and quality service delivery, there is no doubt that sentiments must give way to merit in the quest to elect a National Assembly leadership with shared vision and values.

While the argument for zoning to a particular zone deserves our sympathy and consideration, the overall development of our dear county; the current seemingly intractable security challenges, the economic stagnation and high level of poverty, demands immediate attention through quality leadership. We must consider someone who possesses the wherewithal to help the incoming visionary government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima with the requisite legal frameworks to quickly position our dear country for greatness. Ethnicity, regionalism and religion cannever pass as credible ingredients of good governance, and therefore must not be allowed to become an albatross to actualizing the many prospects of the incoming Tinubu/Shettima administration.

It is on the basis of the foregoing that I wish to implore all the concerned stakeholders, particularly members – elect of the House of Representatives, to support Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara, the member representing Biu/Bayo/Shani Federal Constituency of Borno state, for the position of the speaker of the House of Representatives. Hon. Betara is the man the cap fits; he is an experienced legislator who moves with deft and precision. His impressive understanding of legislative business and cosmopolitan outlook as a patriotic Nigeria stands him out as the most qualified Nigerian for the speakership position of the House of Representatives.

It is a blessing to our country today that we have a president who is passionately attracted to capacity. A man who as governor of Lagos state never appointed his cabinet members on the basis of religion, or origin but on the clear preponderance of capacity to deliver in an assigned role with equanimity. It is therefore the hope and prayers of many Nigerians that he will support Hon. Betara, a fine legislator who is a round peg in a round hole for the House of Representatives speakership position.

Hon. Alapa is a committed and consistent progressive who once served as a minority leader of the House of Representatives

Politics / Group Cautions Against Unwarranted Attacks On NNPCL Leadership by renzo2016: 2:35pm On Apr 17, 2023
A civil society group, Stand Up Nigeria, has berated unwarranted attacks on the leadership of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPLC) by an online news portal, Sahara reporters.

In a statement, the group’s President Comrade Sunday Attah described the report which is aimed at portraying the NNPLC in bad light as malicious and unwarranted.

It recalled that there has been a raging trend of assault, image smearing and blackmail of the corporate image of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) by the media outlet wherein ugly and untrue stories have been published against the leadership of the NNPCL with scenarios that can only be imagined painted by these evil actors.

“As patriots and men of good conscience who have vowed to ensure that the truth is told to the world; Stand Up Nigeria as a civil society movement, has taken it upon itself as a responsibility, to ensure that the elements of slander and blackmail against men of good is put to shame as we reveal the underground dealings and the truth about the whole scenario.

“The wicked, malicious and evil allegations of inappropriateness of the disengagement of the GMD, Mallam Mele Kyari and GED F&A, Mr. Umar Ajiya from the services of the old Corporation and their subsequent appointment by Mr. President to commence a new tenure as Group CEO and CFO in the new NNPC Limited as published by Sahara reporters April 12, 2023 is uncalled for and should not be taken seriously.

“Recall the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act by President Muhammad Buhari and the successful transition of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to a commercially driven National Energy Company, the NNPC Limited.

Attah noted that the creation of the PIA 2021 made it clear that the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Board of Directors is the sole responsibility of Mr President.

“Sahara Reporters in its bid to mislead the public without understanding the provisions of the Act, however reported that the appointment of the CEO and CFO of NNPC Limited by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is on the basis of distinct terms and conditions of Service including tenure, employment benefits and termination.” Attah adds.

He stated further that the public is however aware that the appointment of CEO and CFO are not career postings as erroneously presented by Sahara Reporters.
“Let me at this point direct Sahara reporters to section 59(3) of the PIA 2021 which clearly stated and stipulated the conditions considered in appointing the CEO and CFO of NNPC Limited without recourse to previous employment ranks in the Corporation. The previous rank of GMD or GED F&A was therefore not a consideration in the appointment of the CEO or CFO of NNPC Limited.

“We therefore call on all Nigerians to disregard the publication by Sahara reporters which are known for misrepresentation of facts in order to blackmail the leadership of the NNPCL

“It’s clear that Sahara Reporters lacks knowledge or understanding of the circular issued by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, dated 27 July 2009, which explicitly stated that appointments as Chief Executives of Government-Owned Companies are “tenured appointments”, and in respect of such tenured appointments, career officers who wish to take up such appointments shall retire from service, in order to run their tenure uninterrupted. The circular recognises a distinction between a tenured appointment to serve as Chief Executive of a government-owned company, as distinct from a career office.

“Our investigation revealed that Sahara reporters is famous for slandering the government, decent and diligent public office holders of Nigeria as well as highly placed and respected public figures we hereby call the Hon ministers for communications and digital economy as well as that of information and culture to please take necessary steps in banning the Sahara reporters from the Nigerian media space.

“While we also encourage the NNPCL to take legal actions against the Sahara reporters, we call on Sahara reporters to stop with immediate effect the raging trend of assault and image smearing viz blackmail of the corporate image of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).” The statement adds.

Business / Group Berate Oil Marketers Over Lingering Fuel Scarcity by renzo2016: 2:23pm On Feb 06, 2023
Group berate oil marketers over lingering fuel scarcity

…calls for action to end the trend.

The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations has decried the persistent fuel scarcity being experienced in the and blamed major oil marketers for continued build up of queues in the nations filling stations.

Briefing newsmen in Abuja, President of the group Osabinu Olufemi said the continued act of sabotage, by some Oil marketers in the country, has continued, to undermine, every effort to make petroleum products available to Nigerians, especially at this critical period close to the General elections.

The coalition comprising of over 200 organizations, had earlier planned a shutdown protest, against the federal government and particularly, the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, over the agonizing state of fuel Scarcity in the country.

“Our latest position, follows the continued presence of long queues in filling stations across the country resulting from fuel scarcity, a development that has made some retail outlets to indulge in all manner of sharp practices at the expense of innocent Nigerians.

“It is disturbing, that oil marketers are hell-bent on destabilizing the country and hood winking the Federal government into the reintroduction of the subsidy regime.

“We have no doubt, that the fuel scarcity is artificial as well as being the handiwork of those running the oil and gas downstream to foist their exploitative interest on Nigeria’s National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) through subsidy regime and price increase.

“It is glaring to all Nigerians that the downstream industry players have made up their minds to sabotage effort of government at all cost. This is why they’re hoarding fuel at filling stations across the country, despite the available record of stock and supply, by the NNPC, up to the present moment.

“We hereby urge the management of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) not to acquiesce to the demand of those marketers, saying, the time of allowing few oil cabals to hijack the destiny of Nigerians had passed.” He said.

The group confirmed that it has shelved its earlier planned protest, based on fact findings and thorough Independent Investigation into the actual cause of this sad situation.

Osabinu noted that the group will in the next few days continue its consultation with critical stakeholders in the petroleum sector, private sector, civil society and media, to further expose issues around the troubling fuel scarcity in the country during their planned series of citizens town hall engagements on a date to be announced soon.

Politics / Good Representation Leads: Delta North Stands With Prince Ned Nwoko by renzo2016: 10:02am On Jan 22, 2023
Good Representation Leads: Delta North Stands with Prince Ned Nwoko

By Eze Emmanuel Nnanna

In an election anticipatory political period when nature and all of its endowments crave for a better shift of power in political leadership, it is usually noteworthy to have the knowledge of the peculiarities of diversified political climates.

Delta State, especially the Delta North Senatorial District needs a socio-political personality for representation at the Red Hallowed Chambers of the National Assembly.

Understandably, Delta North deserves more than just an opportunist but one who is both accomplished and prepared to render service to the people.

The Constituency does not need a faceless cabal but someone with such a sound dexterity of the mind to innovate in the business of law making, service delivery, problem solving and quality representation. This is where experience, competence and good character comes to the fore and is better rewarded, not sacrificed on the altar of mediocrity and god-fatherism.

This is why it is imperative to shower support and solidarity to ‘who the cap fits’: High Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko popularly known as Prince Ned Nwoko.

Prince Ned as popularly called, being a member of the House of Representatives at the dawn of the present democratic dispensation in Nigeria between 1999 and 2003 is ladden with the required experience in a tricky political landscape and therefore stands out among his fellow political contestants from the Labour Party( LP) and the drowning All Progressives Congress (APC).

Prince Ned Nwoko, distinguished himself as a quintessential world class philanthropist; a trail blazer and a consummate professional of elegant value, putting smiles on the faces of both the privileged and the less-privileged members of the society by providing succour, business grants, enabling cash supports and periodical cash supports for businesses countless Nigerians across ethnicity.

Prince Ned Nwoko has as well built business empires across Nigeria and beyond, having profusely invested in real estate, agricultural, sports, oil, arts and tourism businesses both in Nigeria and overseas.

Let it be accentuated that he can characterize his leadership acumen, business strategies and political experience in the business of governance as a senator to the benefits of the good people of Delta North Senatorial District.

In a country heavily infested by austerity, insecurities, social hostilities, and persistent poverty, the electorates should look up to such people with track records, leaders of great repute that can create wealth out of trivialities, mend fences amicably and pursue peace at all cost.

High Prince Ned is such an amiable servant leader whose national influence never wanes. A man with ginormous political influence!

If Politics is not the business of mediocrity, then it is meant for great minds of the likes of Dr Ned Nwoko, who live simple but achieve greatly.

On this note, I therefore urge the good people of Delta North Senatorial District to vote for competence, pragmatism, dexterity, sustenance of good governance and above all, experience for the sake of posterity.

As I implore you to look beyond partisan politics, I also enjoin every constituent especially the eligible voters to contribute his quota in sustaining the great legacies that the PDP led administrations have built over the years in Delta state as we call for their advancements through the pragmatic representation of High Prince Ned Munir Nwoko.

Essentially therefore, it is imperative to categorically state that with the Peoples’ Democratic Party and Ned, a better, a more productive and prosperous Delta North Senatorial Zone is sacrosanct with ginormous yabba-dabba-doo!

Politics / Re: What Atiku Should Know About Zamfara PDP by renzo2016: 10:02am On Aug 06, 2022
Re: What Atiku Should Know About Zamfara PDP

By Saleh Idris Gusau

To start with, the title of the piece written by one Balkisu Salisu Gusau is misleading because there's nothing the writer can tell Atiku about the PDP either in Zamfara State or in any part of Nigeria which the former vice President and presidential flag bearer of the PDP does not know.

Atiku, a foundation member of the PDP, is well aware of the challenges that faced the PDP right from its formative stages during the military era to when it grew to become the ruling party in Nigeria for 16 good years and now!

As a former vice president for eight years and presidential candidate of the party at various times, Atiku has largely been responsible for the inroad the party made in many northern states capturing states like Gombe and retaining the rest of the states in the North that ab initial were PDP.

So for anyone to claim trying to educate the former vice president and current presidential candidate of the PDP about anything concerning the party in any part of Nigeria is the height of self delusion.

But going to the issues in the write up, one can say without fear of contradiction that the writer is definitely ignorant of what party politics is all about because all the issues he raised as confronting the PDP in Zamfara are not peculiar but are parts and parcels of party democracy.

Issues such as disagreements over fall outs of primaries, litigations, aspirants insisting on having their ways etc have been witnessed by most parties since the return of democracy in Nigeria.

Therefore in calling for the PDP leaders in Zamfara to unite, Atiku did not as the writer puts it underestimate the problems in the Zamfara State chapter of the party.

In fact to the former vice president, the challenges enumerated by the writer are non-issues as he has taken up bigger challenges in the past and resolved them excellently.

For instance in 2003, in Gombe State when former minister of state for power, Murtala Aliyu was having problems with Danjuma Goje and the party was almost torn to shreds, it was Atiku that resolved the issue and made the PDP to take over the leadership of the state from the then incumbent ANPP governor, Habu Hashidu.

Going by the political sagacity of the former vice president, uniting the Zamfara challenges would be like a walk in the park as can be seen from the changes and the spirit of cooperation being witnessed since his intervention visit.

As the writer rightly pointed out, it is barely two months before the commencement of campaigns, but anybody with a fair knowledge of politics knows that two months is more than enough for a party determined to win elections to put its house in order.

It is rather the APC in Zamfara that should be worried about its seemingly internal intractable problems being window-dressed to make it appear as if all is well with it.

If the APC in Zamfara is united or has conducted its primaries well, it would not have witnessed the mass exodus of people from the party to the PDP.

If the writer is a genuine democrat, she should be concerned about what is happening in the Zamfara APC where the governor, a recent decampee to the party, has cornered all the party positions and is allocating tickets to his cronies as if the party is his shop and the tickets are goods to be doled out at whim

Genuine democrats should be concerned about the marriage of convenience being stage managed to make the APC in Zamfara appear united by forcing various factions with different irreconcilable interests and motives to stay together because of little patronages that will soon wear out

The writer should be concerned that the APC which due to intra party crisis lost all its seats in the 2019 elections is still unable to put these difference behind it.

Perhaps it is this fear which implies that the APC is dying in Zamfara that made the writer to pen the piece seeing how the PDP is growing in the state.

The PDP in Zamfara has all the structures required to win in 2023.

The writer forgot that Governor Bello Matawalle himself is a product of the party and even when he moved to the APC he has not been able to take the other persons with him including his deputy.

So the PDP structure in Zamfara is very much intact with elected legislators and others who are now better poised to win the 2023 elections having consolidated on their victory over the years.

PDP stakeholders in Zamfara especially the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare are doing much to sell the party to the electorate at the grassroots and it was due to that that they met the presidential candidate of the party in Abuja.

It is pertinent at this juncture to remind the writer that the since the creation of Zamfara State in 1996, no party has fielded a gubernatorial candidate with the qualification, pedigree, moral upbringing, scholarship, integrity, generosity and sense of organisation like
Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare.

It is because of his acts of philanthropism, community projects, intervention in various sectors and welfare policies which he undertakes from his pocket that has generated increasing interest in the PDP in Zamfara leading to the massive defection from the APC to the party.

It is less barely over a week since the PDP presidential candidate received APC bigwigs into the party so the question of what they're doing about winning in 2023 should not arise at this stage for the signs will begin to show soon.

The advice that Atiku and the PDP at the national level need to do more in bringing sanity to the Zamfara chapter is well taken but it is not correct to say the local government chapters’ chairmen are working at variance with the State Executive Committee as is being alleged.

INEC has not yet blown the whistle for campaigns to start officially but when it does, the people of Zamfara will not only see bill boards of the pdp presidential candidate but of all other candidates all over the place with concrete assurances of good governance.

In conclusion, let me echo the words of the PDP presidential candidate that, "there is the need for having a united PDP which will be formidable enough to face any opposition no matter how difficult it may be" and we are going to achieve that in Zamfara in sha Allah.

Idris Gusau, a commentator on national issues contributed this piece from Gusau.

Politics / Who Is This Ned Nwoko? by renzo2016: 6:02pm On Apr 19, 2022
WHO IS THIS NED NWOKO?

Ned, Ned, Ned phew!

By Osas ThankGod

Where does one begin from now? Anywhere one chooses to discuss Ned, one will have rich contents to share, and so rich one can spend eternity writing.

Ned Nwoko, the billionaire businessman and philanthropist today means differently to different people as a result of his selfless service to humanity. He has been the voice of the voiceless, a guardian angel, a great support system to his community, a giant wall over a city about to be ravaged by charlatans, a friend to the poor, the tyrant's nightmare, the light of African advancement, the father of several fatherless, to a child's superhero...

Ned has transformed from being a noun to a verb, always changing to suit the occasion for everybody to easily relate with.

When one leaves the comfort of their private life, their luxuries, their peace and tranquility to pick up people's burdens and problems and make them theirs and in a moment or a blink of an eye, change lifestyle abruptly to one of sleepless nights, starvation, advocacy, peril and precariousness, no amount of money, of appreciation or gratitude can ever be enough to express sincere acknowledgment. This, Ned has done all his life in a bid to make the world a better place.

At a very young age, to his time as a lawmaker in the House of Representatives, Ned has grown from wisdom to wisdom, strength to strength, relevance to relevance and above all, an advocate and defender of social justice and a safer world. He has advanced too quickly giving credence to the metamorphic nature of the human mind. Ned is futuristic in all he does, I like to call him the Elon Musk of Africa.

It's no surprise Ned, as an explorer, made history as the first black man to reach the South Pole, Antarctica, where he hoisted the Nigerian flag and gave Nigeria a global recognition and name cast in stone.

When one is described as being Obstinate, and uncontemporary. If these attributes are not quintessential of Ned Nwoko now, I wonder what are. These rare qualities in a society dominated with a population that acts mostly in the present, Ned stands out.

Ned has been promoting tourism in Africa through Project Tourism, a JV between his company and the Federal Government of Nigeria.

He is regarded as an icons of positive change in Delta and Nigeria, not just as a result of the Paris Club refund that he singlehandedly handled through the years of atrocious arrows targeted against him, he remained steadfast till his hard work changed the destinies of not just a few states in the country but the whole Nigerian population. He’s sparked the desire to achieve more and not be limited by any obstacles in the Nigerian folks. He fanned the ember of the can-do spirit in the average Nigerian.

His reforms influenced positive growth in all the sectors he’s come in contact with such as the Malaria project that world leaders have all come to laud.

Only recently, the Sports University of Nigeria, the first of its kind in Sub Saharan Africa situated in Idumuje was approved by the federal government of Nigeria.

There's no gainsaying the public importance of such a university that seeks to combine education and sports and allow for systemic training of sports men and women at a time when the world talk sport will be our future Olympic champions breeding ground.

Ned, it appears, was baptized by this same spirit in Christ, Delta North is lucky to have a man like Ned leaving his comfort zone to represent his people.

We can go on and on about this rare gift of nature to humanity, but let us stop here and raise our glasses as we celebrate this iconic colossus to walk through this generation and show him our gratitude and appreciation that he is truly loved, by turning out en mass to ensure that he is in the upper legislative chambers to represent the good people of Delta North in the 2023 general elections.

Ned Nwoko vs Sowore: An Expedition Gone Sour

By Sunday Attah

For over two decades, the Nigerian media has witnessed the rise of a powerful online media outlet whose specialty was believed to be investigative journalism and anti-corruption. This outlet which was the foremost online news platform took on very daring stories, revealed unbelievable fraud in government circles, and exposed fraudulent characters.

This online outfit which was always the first to break the news is called Sahara Reporters and its promoter, Omoyele Sowore, served Nigerian sensationalized news and no one ever questioned his motives, sources, or methods. He was their darling.

Unfortunately, as his fame grew, so grew his ego and quest for power, which became his Achilles heel. Sowore gradually became a celebrity activist and politician with many controversies surrounding him, from treason to Defamation

This former darling of the Nigerian public has actually been playing the proverbial green snake in green grass, as all his uprightness, freedom fighting, and anti-corruption stance have been exposed as a quick means to satisfy his quest for his greatest needs of wealth and power.

The attention addict, Sowore, has been uncovered as a serial blackmailer and hatchet man via his recent antics.

His demystification probably began with the 2015 election when he is acclaimed to have during the 2014 election, Sowore collected bribes from politicians to rubbish their opponents using his news platform. Sowore’s reportage took a different direction, concentrating on personalities and public offices. Like a shark that has tasted blood, Sowore intensifies his newfound means to power and wealth by going after the rich and famous; blackmailing them, and collecting Chequers behind the scene.

Quick research will make it obvious that Sowore and his outfit Sahara Reporters Foundation is one of the highest sued entities in Nigeria for defamation and libel as well as cyberstalking.

Sowore only picks the rich and influential with little or no time for pursuing justice as targets so he gets paid to end the media spotlighting.

Unfortunately, a man with nothing to hide was all he needed to put a stop to his expedition and it seems he has found his match in Barr. Ned Nwoko who’s a trail of blood he has been following for a while and has stalked him like the predator he is without knowing that in Nwoko he has found a stronger prey.

In his usual manner of harassing and haranguing rich and famous, he has continuously attempted to rubbish the person of Ned Nwoko using his media outfit and social media handles in a very irresponsible manner, calling him names and accusing him of fictitious fraudulent acts which have brought him a legal battle that spells to be his last bus stop, even as Nwoko is not known to engage in futile battles.

On the 24th of February,2022, after several online attacks by Sowore Ned Nwoko decided to put a stop to the jamboree by reporting him to the Nigeria police through his lawyer thus instituting legal action against him.

Prince Ned Nwoko, a man known for his strict principles, has in a follow taken a step many watchers believe might be the last nail to the blackmailer’s coffin by slamming him with a three counts charge.

The charges; Count One: Conspiracy “when you and two others (now at large) conspired with intent to cause annoyance, enmity, hatred, and menace to the character of one Hon. Ned Nwoko conspired amongst yourselves to publish several fake publications about him, an act done pursuant to your agreement”;

He is also charged with cyberstalking “ that you Omoyele Sowore and Sahara Reporters on or about 15th December 2021, in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court did commit an illegal act to wit: Cyberstalking when you knowingly and intentionally made false publications against one Hon. Ned Nwoko with intent to cause annoyance, enmity, hatred, and menace to the character by accusing him of Scamming African Monarchs and Leaders with white elephant Projects through fictitious and giant projects he lured them to invest in” It read in part.

The court is also trying him for using his Twitter account to refer Hon. Ned Nwoko “as a criminal in the following words Released from Nigeria Police Force idiotic arrest and detention, They claimed I defamed a criminal, Ned Nwoko, Useless people “

Many now believe that after a successful nearly two-decade-long expedition of blackmail, his end may be near as this time he may have ridden on the tiger’s back to probably end in its stomach.

Ned Nwoko: The Biblical Prophet Without Honor In His Home

By Sunday Attah

In every generation there comes that one person who like rotten meat, is followed by flies wherever they go, finding themselves in the spotlight even when they do not seek undue attention. He is like a gold fish without hiding place always standing out in the crowd and breaking unbelievable grounds to the dismay of others.

Unfortunately with this glitter comes a barrage of haters and no gooders who will stop at nothing to taint such glory and greatness in order to score cheap points. This set of people are bent on negatively criticizing any success achieved beyond their grasp.

This is the case of one of Nigeria’s greatest erudite lawyers, politician and ace philanthropist, Prince Ned Munir Nwoko. A solicitor of the support court of England and Wales and a barrister at law of Lincoln’s Inn England.

With over 200 students on Scholarships yearly both within and outside nigeria, Prince Nwoko, who has not hidden his penchant for education, is proud to parade several Doctorate Degrees including from federal university of Petroluem technology Warri, this is even as this passion for education and youth development has motivated him to establish the first sports university in Nigeria which he has cited in Idumuje Ugboko that will herald the era of joint honors with sports towards preparation for Olympics laurels.

Certainly a man of many greats, Prince Nwoko with a successful law practice in the UK where he floated Ned Nwoko & Co Solicitors in London moved to his fatherland to offer service in 1998 when he got elected into the House of Representatives to represent Aniocha/ Oshimili federal constituency, after which has retired to his private practice and his past time-philanthropy not after attempts at Delta State gubernatorial election and lost to James Ibori and in 2011, the Senatorial election which he lost to Ifeanyi Okowa, all in a bid to contribute his quota to the development of his people.

Through his foundation, Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation, he has contributed to the empowerment and education of youths of his constituency, senatorial district and state.

In 2019, he donated $273,000 (N100M) for the rehabilitation of failed portions of the road linking the South Eastern Nigeria to the nation's capital, Abuja.

In 2019, he pledged the sum of $200,000 (about N71.6m) to UNESCO to support the development of sports in West Africa.

Most recently the foundation has embarked on a gargantuan project which needs the support of every Nigerian, nay African. It flagged off the Ned Nwoko Malaria Eradication campaign with a symbolic expedition to the Antartica in January 2020, making him the first black African to make such a trip, and Nigeria the 13th country in the world to have her flag hoisted in the South Pole.

Since his return to Nigeria he has initiated a comprehensive action plan against malaria, involving high level stakeholders’ meetings across Africa, endowment of research grants, sensitisation programmes and social mobilisation of the people, among other activities all personally funded under the foundation.

The initiative seeks to achieve the following: states to build recycling plants as a way of managing wastes and the sanitation of the environment. Comprehensive fumigation as was seen in china and elsewhere. Investment in research for vaccines, an Act of the National Assembly for the establishment of an agency of the Federal Government that will see to the sustainable implementation of the malaria eradication strategies.

The Foundation has since been supporting the existing efforts of vaccine development by funding a research for the anti-malaria vaccine through a partnership with leading universities in Africa.

It is in furtherance of this quest that he has held meetings with African leaders who are already funding different malaria interventions in their respective countries to intimate them on the malaria project and the need for them to align with the fight, seeing as already, fthe pilot trial of the WHO approved malaria vaccine (with low efficacy) known as RTSS was conducted and concluded in Ghana, Malawi and Kenya.

Prince Ned Nwoko thus saw the need to meet with these African leaders to harmonise actions and scale up the intervention strategies so that malaria will be a thing of the past in Nigeria.

However like the biblical prophet without honor in his country, Prince Ned Nwoko is unarguably one of Nigeria’s most attacked philanthropist and a victim of fake news peddlers all in a bid to desecrate the good name built overtime.

It is no longer a thing of wonder that several news sites will look for ways to rubbish his efforts especially the malaria project which is already gaining accolades outdo the shores of this country, neither will be surprising to read concocted lies on blogs and websites trying to rubbish his personality.

Unfortunately instead of distracting this well meaning African, it is rather instructive to support this and every other noble effort at betterment of Africa’s fortunes.

Celebrities / Jaruma, Nwoko And The Price Of Wealth by renzo2016: 7:33am On Feb 01, 2022
Jaruma, Nwoko And The Price of Wealth

By Sunday Attah

For the past three days the Nigerian media and indeed lawyers have been throwing themselves over the sensational news of the arrest, remand and eventual bail of self-acclaimed sex therapist , Hauwa Saidu Mohammed alias Jaruma.

Jaruma who was arrested and charged to court over libel and defamation charges on the 21st January, 2022 had been remanded in prison custody and had to spend 3 days pending hearing of the matter which lawyers and media sensationalists have feasted upon trying to throw shade on the matter and the delivery of justice.

Analysts have accused the Niger Delta billionaire, Prince Ned Nwoko of controlling and manipulating the police and judiciary in order to harass an “innocent” Nigerian however like all sensational stories, many who have taken sides with Jaruma who is the master of social media manipulation have not also viewed the legality of the actions of the law enforcement agency and the court away from the billions Ned Nwoko and his wife control not forgetting that Hauwa herself has also reached the millionaire status.

It will be wise to first and foremost try not to join the sensational bandwagon when trying to view this ongoing argument! There are facts and questions to be addressed in order to get to the root of this argument for and against.

For the police to arrest a person there must be an established case of crime, so was there a case established against Hauwa Saidu Mohammed prior to her arrest by the police? It is established that neither the police nor the law court acted in a vacuum. The sex therapist had been summoned over a criminal matter of defamation and libel as reported by the Nwokos over serial social media harassment by the said Jaruma.

The law explicitly states that the publication of words that can cause hatred, contempt, ridicule or damage to the reputation or profession of a person to the hearing of such persons or a third party without justification can be considered a criminal offense. Can Jaruma’s continued harassment of Ned and his family amount to the above justification as a criminal offense?

It is instructive to remind us that the law is no respecter of persons and personality as such offenders are not judged by wealth or class.

While granting Hauwa bail the judge made it explicit that her remand into prison custody was not punitive but to ensure her presence for the hearing. We are aware that libel and defamation are bailable offense be it Civil or criminally prosecuted. However the court is popularly quoted as saying it cannot grant what you did not ask for, “the court is not Father Christmas “. Jaruma or his legal representation must have failed to give proper reason why she was worthy of bail on the first day.
Reasoning from the judge’s closing remarks which was as follows and clearly put:
“Court did not remand her in custody as punitive means to penalize the defendant but to make her present and answer her case”. Is it not suggestive enough that the court had doubts as to the appearance of Jaruma in court and obviously her legal representation didn’t object?

Away from the sensationalism it is also pertinent for pundits to look at the meat and matter of the substantive case before them and the court.

Section 375 of the criminal code states that “any defamatory matter is guilty of misdemeanor and is liable to imprisonment for one year”. It also adds that any person who publishes any defamatory matter knowing it to be false is liable to imprisonment for two years “

It is thus only reasonable to ask where the court and police err in this matter which has already being established as a criminal offense?

Defamation is also agreed to be criminal for which an offender can be charged, prosecuted, convicted and sentenced if it assumes a tendency to arouse angry passion, provoke revenge ... this statement of fact and law is not to be ignored when considering the veracity or not of the case against Madam Jaruma.

We have all witnessed what the popular crime of passion is. Is this not justification enough for Ned and his wife to seek protection of the law when another woman is involved and might be instigated by the Jaruma’s claim that she was pushed out of her matrimony because of the use of her products?

The law is a matter of precedence and if our law courts and legal system allows sensationalism and blackmail to deny a law abiding citizen of the state whose philanthropy and wealth has become his only crime then we shall soon pack up from the courts and judgements delivered on social media and pages of newspaper.

Ned Nwoko and his wife’s only crime in this matter is obviously his wealth and his love for rule of law.

Let the Nigerian populace look beyond the status of the people involved and look at it from the prism of the law and damage done to a family and person whose name has been dragged into disrepute and may loose his livelihood and even life in the course of trying to do what’s right.

Drugs: Group tasks security agencies to investigate, prosecute Jaruma

By Doosuur Iwambe

Following the arrest of sex therapist Jaruma in Abuja today over alleged use of hard drugs, a Civil Society group under the aegis of NIGERIA REBIRTH GROUP has called on the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to swing into action immediately by collaborating with the police for investigation.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Friday, spokesman of the group Joy Ola called on the NDLEA to as a matter of urgency take Jaruma up for medical examination to save the society of her social threat before further damage is done.

Ola said, it is a common knowledge that Jaruma morally debased but a known addict and distributor of the dreaded Pethidine 100mg and 2ml solution which is currently ravaging the lives of our teeming youth populace.

"Without the fear of being termed meddlesome interloper, we make bold to state that as an organization with morality as one of our core values, it is our civic right to call on the relevant authorities to make swift steps to save decent families and the society from a celebrated drug addict and baron", she said.

Ola who describe the Kayan Mata distributor as a scammer selling fake products to the public, strongly advise her to desist from her scams, drug addiction and uncanny ways so that her life can be better.

Joy who questioned why the healer of marriage could not keep her marriage with her product added that all Nigerian ladies involved with Jaruma's products must stay away from it is fake and worthless.

Recall that Jaruma was arrested by men of the Nigeria police force in Abuja over the use of drugs.

The sex therapist was arrested on Friday evening in Abuja, over alleged use of drugs and publication of fake news. According to sources from the force, she takes hard drugs by injecting substances into her body.

Romance / Jaruma: The Unveiling Of A Clout Seeker by renzo2016: 1:39pm On Dec 23, 2021
Jaruma: The Unveiling Of A Clout Seeker

Several weeks on now, the media has been celebrating the feud between the popular acclaimed sex therapist Hauwa Saidu Mohammed popularly known as Jaruma and nollywood actress Regina Daniels, who is married to the billionaire politician and socialite, Prince Ned Nwoko, however very few people have given the quarrel a thought deep enough to unearth the real reason for such a dirty fight.

Jaruma whose popularity grew courtesy of her mastery of the use of social media to sell her sex items, claims her products are what Regina Daniels implored to cause an end to the marriage between her husband, Ned Nwoko and his Morrocan ex-wife Laila Chavani.

While Regina has in several appearances refuted such claims, stating that she has never used any of the products as claimed by Jaruma but only promoted them courtesy of a business deal which saw her earning 10 million naira for the promotion of the aphrodisiacs, her husband, Ned Nwoko has already taken the the air to clear all misconceptions about how his marriage to Laila ended.

Ned who spoke through his media aide also debunked the allegations that his decision to severe marital ties with his Morrocan wife was influenced by any aphrodisiac, stating clearly that he ended the marriage as a result of Irreconcilable differences rooted in indecent conducts.

According to him, when Laila was on holiday in London, she engaged in frivolous spending including money meant for the kids, frequenting night clubs with random men which resulted to her contacting the Corona Virus. She is also accused of getting plastic surgery without his consent.

Meanwhile as the argument rages on, it is pertinent to also enquire the vested interest of Jaruma in the marriage between Ned and his “wives”, alongside her authenticity.

Jaruma’s who claims to have helped Regina Daniels to send Laila away through the use of her products is ironically unable to save her own marriage with the same products .

The 41 year old who claims to be an expert at “helping women keep their husbands” has not been able to keep her own husband. She is known to have been married to one Ross Fahad Isabor but only got separated 3 years after the marriage.

It is also worthy of mention that even after the collapse of her marriage, probably out of shame the “healer of marriages” kept lying about her marriage until her sister-in-law broke the news of the long time separation of Jaruma and her brother who has since left Dubai back to Lagos and is living a quiet life.

For a woman who thrives on social media clout it won’t be out of place to examine why she will not start such an uproar to promote her self and her business. She is the same person who lied to the world that their marriage begat twins while in reality they only had one child and no other till the unfortunate collapse of it even though she claims to be the “savior of marriages”.

It will also be wisdom to wonder how a woman willfully tells the world that she was responsible for helping send another woman out of her marriage and it is hilarious that she will proudly insist that she is responsible even when those concerned have debunked her claims.

However after critical assessment of Madam Kayan Mata, it is rife to conclude that the whole fight is certainly an adventure initiated by her, aimed at boosting her media presence and rub off the Ned Nwoko fame.

She has successfully taken advantage of her relationship with Ned’s wife to generate controversy around him with her in the middle in order to reinvent herself and create a new narrative for her business.

Having to go any length to be popular and promote her business, is not new to her as people who have followed her closely on social media will attest to the fact that she leaves and thrives on controversy not minding how it comes about nor whose ox is gored in the process.

Who better be dragged into her needless search for clout than a popular billionaire who has openly advocated his knack for decency and is acknowledged for his principles? Certainly the Nwokos should make good meat for her media rejuvenation even as it is clear the motive for this unsavory exchange.

Obiora Agbasimalo: Group petitions Buhari, gives 7-day ultimatum to find Anambra Guber candidate.

A group, the Coalition of Concerned Civil Society Organizations for Truth and Justice has given the federal government and other security agencies a 7-day ultimatum to find Anambra Guber candidate of the Labour Party, Obiora Agbasimalo or face civil disobedience.

Mr Agbasimalo was abducted on Saturday, September 18, 2021 along with his security detail on his way from Ezinifitte to Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State while on his way for an election campaign, and ever since, nothing has been heard of him.

Speaking on behalf of the group, at a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, Mr Phil Roberts said, Obiora's disappearance has triggered the concerns of family members and friends.

"Whether he is dead or alive, no one knows and all these questions are begging for answers.

"Who kidnapped Obiora Agbasimalo and how was he kidnapped?

"Already family and friends are seeking for Obiora's safety and his eventual release from his captors.

"We are as a matter of urgency by this press conference respectfully urging Mr President to direct the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services DSS and other relevant security agencies to get to the root of this matter, in the interest of the peace and stability of not just the southeast region, but the nation at large."

Already, the group has sent a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari and other security agencies in the country to expedite action with a view to unraveling the mystery.

Mr Roberts further added that Nigeria must not continue to slide in this direction of chaos where people can no longer have the freedom of movement or association.

While condemning the abduction in the strongest terms, he called on Nigerians who may have meaningful information regarding the whereabouts of Mr Agbasimalo to volunteer same discreetly to security agencies.

Politics / Save Nigeria Movement Accuses Obasanjo Of Raising Tension, Heating The Polity In by renzo2016: 8:58am On Dec 17, 2021
Save Nigeria Movement accuses #Obasanjo of raising tension, heating the polity in Nigeria

The Save Nigeria Movement has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of inflaming passions and raising tension in the country through his statements and characteristic antecedents.

The group made the accusation at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, December 2021, urging the former president not to jeopardize ongoing security efforts in the country.

Addressing journalists at the briefing, Rev Solomon Semaka, Convener of the Save Nigeria Movement, alleged that Obasanjo has decided ''to embark on another round of divisive consultations conversant with his character.''

He continued:

''Media reports further indicate Obasanjo plans to co-opt past heads of state, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and some respected elder statesmen among which is a former federal commission, Pa Edwin Clark into the massive drive to divide the country.

''All these antics are in a bid to discredit President Buhari's administration efforts having surpassed former president Obasanjo's two terms in office both as military and civilian head of state.

''Former President Olusegun Obasanjo's antecedents are scary if allowed to fester. The Save Nigeria Movement is deeply concerned that Obasanjo would choose to inflame passions and raise tensions at this critical point in time when the federal government is consolidating on security.

''Former President Olusegun is urged to reconsider his personal agenda as it can only jeopardize national security. To this end, the Movement is suspicious of the former president and calls on all Nigerians to speak in one voice against him.

''The Save Nigeria Movement is inclined to caution the former president to have a rethink if his personal intentions will not promote peace and unity in the country.

''This appeal is also a word of caution that should Obasanjo be bent on heating the polity and raising tensions, Nigerians will know who to hold responsible and demand for the law to take its full course.''

Rev Semaka said the group expects nothing but selfless service to the nation and moral support from people like former Obasanjo and not fanning the embers of disunity.

He added that Obasanjo has no moral right to be dissatisfied with the modest achievements of the Buhari administration, ''especially when he could not do better when Nigerians gave him the opportunity twice as military and civilian head of state.''

He further stated that

''Nigerians are proud of what President Buhari is doing to rescue the nation from the grip of people like Obasanjo who designated the country as a free zone for corruption for more than a decade.

''Nigerians from all walks of life are proud of the modest achievements recorded under the Buhari administration. From road infrastructure to massive social welfare packages and a historic recapture of territories hitherto held by insurgents and bandits.

''At least President Buhari has not mobilized soldiers to demolish communities and kill scores of innocent Nigerians like Obasanjo did in Odi, Bayelsa, and Zaki Biam, in Benue states respectively.

''President Buhari administration in all sincerity has admitted to challenges and taken steps to secure the nation, all the government needs now is wise counsel and moral support as opposed to acts that could jeopardize existing efforts in peace and security of the country.

''The whole world is watching and will join us in solidarity to hold anyone who would be responsible for acts that breach national security.''

Anambra Gov’ship: I’m in race to build an economically viable State — Igwebuike Hygers

By: Kingsley Omonobi – Abuja Frontline contender for the 2021 Anambra gubernatorial race in the All Progressives Congress APC, Dr Igwebuike Ifeanyi Hygers has said the creation of an economically viable state where the enormous potentials of the state can be harnessed remains a possibility. Dr Igwebuike was speaking to newsmen shortly after picking his nomination form at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

He acknowledged that successive administration since the days of Dr Chris Ngige has consistently done their bit in the development of the state but none has been able to set a policy framework for continuity.

“This is not my first time contesting this very election, I have been in the race a couple of times before but the reason behind my consistency is that there is a particular thing that is missing and that is the foundation of the state. ”The state lacks foundation and there is no foundation. The state is a project and a project without a foundation cannot stand. For instance, when Chris Ngige came in, he focused on road construction, Peter Obi also consolidated while Obiano too is doing the same but there is no policy on roads, no policy on the water when there are policies, it provides a yardstick for the members of the House of Assembly in their oversight function to know whether things are being done with the set standards.” He added. On the issue of the ban on open grazing, Dr Igwebuike noted that the era has since passed, hence the need for reform. He assured that the security of lives and properties will remain the focus of his administration by laying strategies to control the issues of farmers and herders clash.
