I watch some parents become the children in some homes, and the children become the parents.

In the UK most parents are scared to tell their children the bitter truth or correct them and you see a lot of parents tolerating barefaced rubbish from their children in the name of trying to be their friends.

Imagine a Nigerian woman in the UK whose husband lives in Naija allowing her 19 year old daughters boyfriend to live with them in the same room with her daughter !!!!!!! Haba

And this is a woman who grew up in Nigeria and is over 50 years old. Her excuse is that she does not want the daughter to move out of the House.

The way some women in the UK pamper and pander to their daughters every whim and stupidness, you would think the woman and her daughter are in a cult.

Some parents in the West fail to realize that a parent is called to be a protector, guide, nurturer and correcter of their child and not their best friend.

Even the Bible says in Proverbs 13:24 (AMPC) that He who spares his rod [of discipline] hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines diligently and punishes him early.

It also says in Proverbs 22:15 (AMPC) that Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.

Most times sending a wayward teenager back to Africa to school will make the child change for the better but one has to be careful as to the child's health in a land that is foreign to him or her. A Female Ghanaian neighbor in London sent her well behaved boy to her husbands country Jamaica to school and the boy ended up coming back to London disabled as he had an asthma attack in Jamaica which got out of hand and damaged his brain.

As for me, the stakes are just way too high and every one of my children will always live in the same house I live in daily 'cos that way I can study them at the end of every school day and render help / correction to them daily especially in today's world fill with sordid and dangerous social media content.

As they are being fed junk by today's world on a daily basis, I must be able to correct them and point them in the right direction also on a daily basis and when you factor what happens in today's boarding houses into the equation, then boarding schools are not for my kids.

For me, parenting is a daily hands on job and will never be remote.

My mom once tied me and almost threw me in a well, thank God for neighbours intervention, another time she broke my head for bringing the wrong bucket, of which I still have the scars, on numerous time I was bitten as in bite with teeth mercilessly, my head smashed on the wall and ground, knives hurled at me, I ran away from home 5 times, 80% of all scars on me was from my experience as child and a whole lot more of other stuffs done I still carry in my heart till date which has strained our relationship .

I feel your pain.

You need to release some of this pain and a way to do so may be to write a letter to your mum expressing how you felt about the beatings and ensure she reads it when you are not present so that she can reflect on its contents and after delivering the letter, give her some space for a little while and you will see that next time you see her you will not feel so much pain again.

If the person is innocent nothing would happen .

Seems your conscience is worried.

Don't mind him / her. The guilty are afraid. He or she thinks that Europe and America will just arrest someone for hate speech with no proof.

On the other hand, if in the UK there is credible evidence of someone white or black disseminating hate speech online then reporting such at https://www.gov.uk/report-terrorism or https://www.report-it.org.uk/your_police_force will spur the UK authorities to start investigations / proceedings against such hate speech monger.

Adeyinka Grandson who yesterday started serving a 4.5 year prison sentence in the UK for Hate speech crimes must now be realizing that the internet never forgets.

Maybe all the hate speech merchants under any guise will start thinking twice about the vile statements they paste online about other tribes because sooner or later like Adeyinka Grandson and co found out, the internet never forgets and every hate speech against another tribe that you post online will one day catch up with you in this digital global village.

Its unfortunate that a bunch of Diaspora based Semi Illiterate and ILLITERATE CLEANERS, SECURITY GUARDS AND Care Workers and idle unemployment benefit scroungers use the internet to deceive educated people living in Nigeria to set the country on fire whilst their unemployed and underemployed selves hide abroad in the hope that when the war starts and the dust settles, they will bring their illiterate selves back to Nigeria and rule over the millions of educated Nigerians who stayed in Nigeria through thick and thin.

I am a Yoruba man living in London but have never supported Adeyinka Grandson nor Sunday Igboho in their quest to break up Nigeria and set it on fire and I remember telling a semi-illiterate friend in London that it was futile for him and his Yoruba nation agitators to boast that we will get Oduduwa republic by Dec 2020 and I warned him not to give them his hard earned money in the guise of contributing to Yoruba nation coffers but I'm not sure if he heeded my call and I found it repulsive at the number of loud mouth Europe and America based Nigerian Diasporan Semi illiterates, Thugs and Touts (both men and women) shouting up and down on Youtube that we must break away from Nigeria and fight a war if necessary and I am thinking to myself that is it these people loudmouth semi illiterates who are going to determine my being a Nigerian or not ?

People just jump on a bandwagon without doing their own research / due diligence about the so called leaders of the futile agitation

If they had done their research, they would have found out that Igboho was a political thug / tool financially empowered by successive Oyo state Governors and at one time he even worked for Tinubu who paid him off so that Igboho's boys will not scatter Ondo state elections some years ago. He is even being accused of being a Benin Republic to Nigeria Cross border smuggler which makes sense when you think of his boys in May 2021 going to forcefully (with guns) open the Idiroko border in Ogun State between Nigeria and Benin republic to facilitate free movement of goods and cars into Nigeria. So igboho must have been pained that Buhari closed the borders as this will have affected his alleged smuggling business negatively.

If people had done a simple google research they would have found that Nnamdi Kanu was a failed and unemployed business man in the UK where a simple company house search for his name in the UK will reveal that at the time he started his agitation, he only had £20 or less in his company accounts.

Again I find it absurd that an educated person will think that it is proper or possible to secede from a country by arming your foot soldiers with Juju tied around their body. what backward mindset ?

The leaders of the Catalonia breakaway group in Spain are still in prison more than 2 years on and this is in Europe but some people just suspend their reasonable mind and education and bury their head in the sand and allow all sorts of illiterates, semi illiterates and mad men and women to lead them into a pit all in the name of breaking away from Nigeria and yet these same people still carry and travel on a Nigerian passport.

By the way, one of the lessons of this thread is that the power is in your hands. If you see any Nigerian that lives abroad spreading hatred and bile and inciting his followers to kill people , do a little research and you might find a way to report directly to the police (where ever the terrorist is) and to get the bigot locked up.
