Malam Yankuzu, who is one of the lectures in Department of Science Education, Federal University of Technology, has stated that Nigeria is safe in the hands of president Muhammad Buhari.

He reacted on the president October 1 speech quoting ,
“Our prayer is that Allah grants him divine guidance, good health and a good team to properly steer the affairs of the country.”

Eke- my name is Eke Michael , I am fashion designer who resides in Lagos and also from the eastern part of Nigeria , IMO state precisely.

Sir, pls can you tell us more how you started fashion designer and what motivated you

Well, I would say I started fashion designing because I had interest in it, I loved fashion a lot, so I had to go and learn the aspect the full aspect of the job, and what motivated me in venturing into fashion was the money in it and fame I knew I could have.

You talked about fame, pls can you throw more light on that

In that aspect of the fame I meant is, being a well known fashion designer could lead me to places and people , who I have never dreamt working with before.


So, for the years coming what should we look after

Eke Smiles , for the years coming, I would say we should look up to Jehovah, I would not give my self a target for now, until I know where Jehovah is leading me too

So what are your advice's for upcoming fashion designers

My advice for them is to concentrate more on their job and Jehovah, than trying to demonstrate non chalant attitude towards their work. I believe hard work pays.

Mr mike what challenges do you face daily in fashion designing

Like all fashion designer, the common challenges are light, cost of materials too are challenges we face, because of the downturn of economy


So what way can you advice to federal government

The Government knows what is needed to do, make the light stable , then production can be more cheaper , when the production are cheaper , cost of raw materials will fall

Family of mick Clark has finally announced the Death of their loved one, who was a great British music producer, artiste manager and supervisor.

Clark is the president of i10 Music Group, which he found and incorporated in 2013, with his achievement of signing successful artiste such as ; maxifield, loose end and soul II soul.

Mick Clarke also had a successful career being the managing director of Columbia Records , Virgin Records and higher ground.

With the likes of Mc gee , who has worked with mike Clark on some project years ago was quoted saying “Mick was a musical genius – up until a week ago he was excitedly telling me about some great producer ideas.

“His sudden passing is a huge shock to me and the many people who loved him.”

Mick Clark is survived by two sons.

N-Power Teach Volunteers is a program that will help improve basic education delivery in Nigeria. They will then be deployed as teacher assistants in primary schools around Nigeria.

It is 50 years now since the commencement of a bloody Civil War, which started when Eastern and Southern Nigeria attempted to break away from Nigeria to create a sovereign state called Biafra. Millions were killed and many more became homeless. In recent times there has been renewed agitation for Biafra among mostly Igbo people. The response by the Federal government has been brutal and disproportionate; killing and arresting several peaceful protesters and detaining leaders of the struggle indefinitely. Many believe that the drive for Biafra will fail just as it did 50 years ago. Yet, Biafra may just be a pipe dream. There are reasons to believe that the struggle may not die down and that the dream may be actualized, perhaps in a foreseeable future.

Both former President Olusegun Obasanjo and acting President Yemi Osinbajo spoke at the commemoration of 50 years of Biafra. Both of them are non-Easterners; they are Yoruba from the Western part of the country. But while both of them are Nigerian leaders, Obasanjo belongs to the old crop of leaders while Osinbajo belongs to the new and that showed in the tone of their speech as they tried to persuade Igbo people not to leave Nigeria. Obasanjo fought in the civil war and belongs to those who still see the Biafran agitation as a selfish interest. Osinbajo is a recent leader who probably does not bear the pain and bitterness of the war and therefore believes there is a genuine agitation but that it would benefit Igbos more to stay in Nigeria rather than leave. There are many Nigerians today of non-Igbo extraction who believed that the Igbos have been dealt an unjust and unfair hand and that the Civil war itself was as a result of unfair treatment meted to a whole ethnic group for no just cause. This is why the reality of a Biafra without a second war is possible. The structure, ethnic composition and territory of the proposed Biafra are subject to another debate.

Were the Igbos really unfairly treated? How exactly were the Igbos unjustly treated? I believe it is when Nigerian leaders answer these two questions sincerely that we will really be on our way to true reconciliation. To answer them, we also have to look into history and examine the facts. The Civil war might have been a patriotic effort by military and political leaders to stop Nigeria’s disintegration rather than cause injury to a particular section of the country but the war did that and the circumstances that led to it also reflect an unfair situation. The circumstances that led to the Civil war can be traced back to the January coup of 1966, attributed to Igbo officers, which is an unfair description. Among the coup plotters were Yorubas like Ademoyega and Victor Banjo. Even if most of the officers involved were Igbos, the act of a few officers should not be interpreted as the agenda of a whole ethnic group. Even Azikiwe who was the most prominent Igbo leader at that time did not support the coup but was spared.

The January coup, as bloody as it was, could not compare in violence with the coup that came after it in July 1967. Most of the officers involved in the July coup were of northern extraction and many prominent leaders of today were among them. It was more effective than the first, and it purged the entire military hierarchy and political leadership. What followed the coup can only be compared to what happened in Rwanda in 1994; whole scale slaughter of people of Igbo extraction across the country, especially in the North. Many were rendered homeless as the properties were burnt. Many young Igbo army officers were brutally murdered while Northern officers were left unharmed in the East. There are indeed evidences of these atrocities as even some Nigerian officers gave account, including Benjamin Adekunle who had to rescue some Igbo soldiers from death in Kano. The Eastern heartland became a refugee camp as millions of Easterners flee from the North.
