*PMAN,ABIA STATE CHAPTER FORMALLY DEMANDS REFUND OF MISAPPROPRIATED BIOMETRIC FEES FROM SUSPENDED PRESIDENT PRETTY OKAFOR* The Abia State Chapter of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has officially moved to reclaim funds paid by its members under the leadership of the suspended national president, Pretty Okafor. Leading the charge for accountability within the union, the Abia State Chapter is the first to formally demand a full refund of all monies collected from its members for the PMAN Biometric Identity Card project—a scheme now embroiled in allegations of financial misappropriation. In a formal letter here attached & signed by the PMAN Governor of Abia State, High Chief Ejeh Williams, the chapter made its position clear regarding the current leadership crisis and the protection of its members' interests. The chapter demands that all registration fees and dues collected from Abia State musicians for the biometric ID cards be returned to the members immediately. Abia State PMAN explicitly dissociates itself from the administrative actions and "fraudulent activities" attributed to Pretty Okafor during his tenure & warns all her members to stop all relationships with the suspended Pretty Okafor or face disciplinary actions by the Abia state chapter. The chapter insists that the biometric project, while intended to modernize the union, was used as a vehicle for financial irregularity rather than member benefit. According to High Chief Ejeh Williams "The musicians of Abia State, much like our colleagues in other state chapters across the federation, will no longer stand by while their hard-earned resources are unaccounted for. We are taking the lead to ensure our members are reimbursed and to signal that Abia State PMAN stands for integrity and the rule of law." The Abia State Chapter joins a growing chorus of state leadership calling for a total overhaul of the union’s financial management. This move serves as a formal notice to the public, financial institutions, and the creative community that the suspended leadership no longer represents the interests or the treasury of the Abia State musicians. Signed: High Chief Ejeh Williams State Governor, PMAN Abia April 17, 2026

Useless country if dem like make dem hack am Carey the website go away I don't care |
This is to formally address members of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), relevant authorities, and the general public on the urgent need for the prosecution of the suspended and restrained former PMAN President, Mr. Pretty Okafor, over serious allegations bordering on financial misappropriation and visa-related fraud. It is on record that in 2024, Mr. Pretty Okafor was duly suspended by the National Working Committee (NWC) of PMAN following credible allegations of financial misconduct and involvement in visa fraud-related activities. The suspension was not arbitrary; it was based on documented concerns that warranted investigation and disciplinary action in line with the constitution of the association and established legal frameworks. Rather than submit himself to due process and clear his name through lawful means, Mr. Okafor deliberately evaded accountability. He failed to honour invitations and make himself available for proper investigation and prosecution. Instead, he engaged in actions calculated to obstruct justice by misleading a unit of the Nigeria Police Force. This interference resulted in a temporary stay of action on an already concluded investigation being handled by another competent police unit. Furthermore, it has come to light that Mr. Okafor relied on a purported police report, which was clearly doctored and misleading, to falsely claim that he had been exonerated of all allegations. This claim is entirely untrue, deceptive, and intended to misinform stakeholders and the public. We wish to categorically state that Mr. Pretty Okafor was never cleared of these allegations. The matter remains active and is currently before the Force Intelligence Department (FID), where necessary steps are being taken to ensure that justice is served. It is also pertinent to note that the then Inspector General of Police had earlier directed swift action on this matter prior to his exit from office, and the case has now been revived in compliance with that directive. In addition to his suspension by the NWC, the decision was further affirmed by the same competent court of jurisdiction that initially recognized his position as PMAN President. Subsequently, the National Executive Council (NEC), acting within its constitutional authority and backed by a valid restraining order issued by the court, upheld his removal. These cumulative legal and organizational actions clearly establish that Mr. Okafor no longer holds any legitimate office within PMAN. Consequently, Mr. Pretty Okafor lacks the legal authority to represent, act on behalf of, or enter into any agreements concerning PMAN. Any individual, organization, or institution engaging with him under the guise of PMAN representation does so entirely at their own risk. In light of the foregoing, we strongly call on all relevant law enforcement and regulatory authorities to ensure the immediate prosecution of Mr. Pretty Okafor. Upholding justice in this matter is not only essential for maintaining the integrity of PMAN but also for reinforcing public trust in institutional accountability and the rule of law. PMAN remains committed to transparency, discipline, and the protection of its members’ interests. We will continue to cooperate with all lawful authorities to ensure that justice prevails. Signed *Boniface Itodo (Aita Bonny)* Authentic General Secretary, *PMAN*
