God bless the author of this thread. So we have a lot of engineers in this nairaland. This is really a big concern to the engineering society in Nigeria. And I believe that's why we this generation of nigerian engineers should take our stand and not just accept anything less. Imagine us all being in NSE and the so called COREN, then definitely there'll be a future for engineers in this nation, cos I can really see the passion with which contributions have been made in this thread. I believe we can cause a change of event in this nation if we really want to. It's a pity I never registered as a student member to NSE while in school, so right now I have to wait till next year to meet the compulsory 4 years post graduation or 3 years working experience to become an active NSE member. I also want to call on you guys out there, even those in the banks to show interest in this NSE and let's see how we can turn things around in this nation. Imagine the author of this thread as the NSE president, I am convinced he will do something and not just fold his arms. Again, I agree with Muchluv, it's not all about the money. To me my career matters. I've not spent 5 stress filled years to study mechanical engineering to end up as a banker. I started with a 30k job after nysc in an engineering firm, the pay's better now, but can't in anyway be compared with the experience I've gathered in this past 2 years. It's worth it, if that's ur decision. Even if I cannot enter shell, chevron and so on at a graduate level, I know that I'll definitely get there with my experience. Truth is I'm happy I accepted the offer then, cos I was almost tempted to go for diamond bank because of the pay. To all concerned, one love and I wish u all God's favour. Whatever u're doing now, banking or engineering, do it with all dilligence. A dilligent man will stand b4 great men. |
Hello Temmie, Can u pls educate me on how to go abt all these analysis? B4 now I've been using a stock broker but I believe it's better I do this analysis myself, although I'm not an economist I'll try my best. How exactly do u get those figures and any good website/materials I can visit to get all these, I'll love to know. Many thanks man. |
Hey, All the experts in the house, it's a good job I must say. But then I'll be glad if someone can give me more info on MBenefits Assurance stock. I bought some units about a month ago, but since the the price has kept on dropping drastically. What could be happening? Also need advice on some hot stocks that can yield good returns in 6 months time. I've been into stocks for some time now. I'll appreciate contributions from you guys. |

Hey Jossyluv, I'm frm Ofagbe. So how u dey? |
Deltans I hail o, all the big hearts in nairaland. I think it's a nice thing to have a re-union here. Jossyluv, it's a nice thread u've got here keep it up. I'm equally Isoko. To all the Isoko, me mo wadoooooooooo. |
Was born on that special day , JANUARY 1ST. Everybody celebrates with u, u knw. Hey Lincoln, Great to knw u're January 1st. So how do u celebrate ur b/days? |
Hello Aysometin, Good to know u're coming to Isoko land, I'm from Isoko land too. Our pple are very hospitable and I believe u're going to make a wonderful family. But then I don't really see things like that, I believe so much in the scripture that says "when a man's ways are pure, even his enemies will be at peace with him", so my dear it also depends on the kind of relationship u establish with ur inlaws. I wish u the very best and hope to hear ur testimony very soon. But then where's ur husband to be from? Cheers. |
Hey man, when is the interview coming up? Expecting to hear frm them too. |
Hello Gabrielle, Yea I've gotten my invitation for the test, but I'm sort of skeptical coming down to Lagos for the test. I actually applied for the scholarship stating 1 year as my duration of study but then the school l applied to (Newcastle University) later gave me an admission stating 2 years as my duration of study for Pipeline Engineering. So with this I don't really knw for now if this contradiction will affect me in anyway. Still thinking of what to do anyway. All the best. |
Hello, Thank God a lot of pple in the house understand what tithing is. The bible commands it, so to me, my answer is a big YES. I believe in tithing and I pay my tithes. Let's not bother ourselves with how the money is spent, the most important thing is it is in God's word. Salvation is personal, so just be obedient to God's word by paying ur tithes and forget about how it's been spent. I tell u, there are a lot of blessings attached to paying tithes, why don't we all key into these? If u care to know, it's either that 10% goes to God or to the enemy (how by way of devourers). The bible says, "He will rebuke the devourers for your sake" (Mal 3). Devourers come in divers ways e.g sicknesses, losses, family problems, irrelevant issues that ur money will just be going into and so on. So why don't u give this 10% to God and as well enjoy the numerous blessings attached to Tithing? |
Hey Guys, what do u want to hear? For me sha, A man that loves God with all his heart ( when u see them u knw) His personality counts (Carriage, self esteem and what have u) Lastly Faithfulness in all things All the best all. |
Yea Kingsley, I don't think it's wrong but then it's not a must that u marry the person recommended. It's only a recommendation, u go ahead do ur homework and make a decision. Moreover, u have to be careful about who's doing the recommendation, is he/she someone u respect and u can rely on to an extent? But whatever be the case, u still need to make a choice. Sometimes it works but then not always, so when it doesn't work do not put the blame on whoever did the recommendation. Be wise. |
Hi Ikwin, Please can u tell me how u applied. Have u applied b4 now? I'm also in ph and will love to apply to slb. All d best. |
Hi Gabrielle, For all mechanical engrs hoping to take the test. I did d graduate recruitment test 4 mechanical, the professional part was basically strength of materials, design and few mechanics questions. Also few questions from basic thermodynamics(like using gas laws to solve for Temperature, Pressure and Volume). This part has 30 questions for 1 hour. Again the 1st part is general aptitude (numerical, logical-diagrams & verbal) these are relatively cheap but u need speed too. All d best. See u on top. |
Hi Lush, Thanx for the info. But then I couldn't open the attachment mentioned in the site, although the site opened. How do I get details of the job opening pls? All the best. |
