You should go back to d hospital.what u just described sounds like pertusis(whooping cough). It's treated with antibiotics too but it has to be with the right one. Also because of the late presentation the cough might not stop any time soon if it's pertussis.

Did she have fever or runny nose some weeks before the cough? If she did then u need to ask d doctor about pertussis just in case he/she wasn't thinking about it before.
