Business / Re: Nigeria Does Not Want MTN “to Die” From $5.2bn Fine-Communications Minister by Rhoo: 1:47pm On Nov 14, 2015
at last. a sane analysis. much respect.

If MTN decides to move out, that wont be the end of it. They have 19 other countries where they operate. Instead of Mtn making a profit of $100, they would make $63, thats still significant. At the end of all this, Nigeria will be the looser than MTN, mtn will continue printing money in another countries whereas Nigeria will be left with a tag of "Investors unfriendly". In a country that needs a massive FDI to pull its poor population out of poverty, you dont become that harsh. All the potential investors are watching this, who is gonna risk their hard earned cash and invest it in an envirinment where there is no save gaurantees of their investments. It would be like throwing money into a bottonless pit. As it stands, its a slippery slope for nigeria, with crude oil price at its lowest, poverty at doorstep.

Naspers multichoice DStv is just a small business compare to the rest of Naspers businesses. So if nigeria forces DStv to pull out, it wont be felt by naspers $100billion Businesses, DStv only makes up 7% of naspers profit in the entire continent, so nigeria probably makes 1% of that. Once you start chasing investors away, the country suffers, ask Zimbabwe.[/quote]

Nigerian politicians will never stop being corrupt as long as it citizens keep giving excuses for their corruption. reading the responses of some Nigerians here its no wonder their government steal indiscriminately, disregarding ordinary citizens

Politics / Re: No Nigerian Airport Among Africa's Best 10 by Rhoo: 10:19am On Sep 03, 2013
ShymmexLion: Cor blimey!!! shocked shocked

However, Nigeria has no airport, to be honest. Just two train-stations with air·strips and a few glorified village-esque bus stations with dilapidated runways.

Anyway, the termite of Africa a la Nigeria, is at its rightful place, at the butt-crack of every good thing in Africa.

Big ups to all the countries on the list for making mama Africa proud - salute!! cool

^^^ouch!!
Politics / Re: Don’t Admonish Me Like A Schoolchild – Jonathan by Rhoo: 3:55pm On Apr 25, 2012
In South Africa, the African National Congress can admonish the President because the party is superior. And that is why in the gathering of the party, the party chairman takes precedence in order of protocol. It shows that the President himself is under the chairman.

This is nonsense. A President
is accountable to the Country not a party. Accountable to the Constitution of a country. That is democracy.

cube63: Please even here in South Africa, since they know I'm Nigerian my last bill for he Hd pvr was R624 (N12,480) they sent me this message yesterday that i should make a payment of R655 (N13,100), if not i will be offline in no time (That was how it sounded) Now i noticed it is increasing every month. I think since they think/believe 50% of Nigerians are drug dealers so these money is no big deal.

I am a south african, i paid same price you paid (HD Pbr, Dst Mobile). what are you on about?
