FrauPosh: Hopefully they will reply you soon. Just a little patience more .But at least you have been verified by lawyer. I applied in Nov 2021,went for interview in January 2023 up to this very moment as I write I still haven't heard from my lawyer. Not lawyer has visited me as part of the verification process. My frustration knows no bounds.😢 Yes I understand your feeling, this isn't an easy process at all, but I believe your case will be settled before December runs out, just keep praying and keep believing |

Babbbbbbbbby: MY TIMELINE FOR GERMAN FAMILY REUNION VISA (sorry it late been really busy) My spouse was a blue card holder who became eligible for permanent residency just before my interview. Before my interview, my husband already submitted his documents to ABH and I got my first pre-approval with hopes that it will make things move faster but it didn’t. 1.Booked on the 21st August 2021. 2.Appointment email came on 16th Sept.2022 3.Interview was for 13th Oct.2022 4.I submitted my A1 result on 14th Dec.2022 (strategically delayed to avoid expiration before visa completion.
Then ,there was a prolonged period of silence for 7 months +. Calls and emails went unanswered. In February we called Bundesverwaltungsamt and we were told that a second pre-approval was sent to the embassy on 5th Jan.2023 and the lawyers verification was the only thing left for my visa to be approved. We were advised to have patience and stop with the frequent calls.
5.We started working with a German immigration lawyer on 11th may 2023 and he contacted the embassy, they replied him saying that the verification center had promised to do the verification as soon as possible and the lawyer should contact them by the first week of July 2023 to know the result of the verification. 6.Lawyer called for verification on 24th May 2023 and he came on 25th May 2023 and he was done by 31th may 2023. 7.Verification complete email sent on 14th July 2023 and it also said they were waiting for final decision from alien office. We called ABH on 17th July but was told the man in charge of our case was not available and they were yet to find someone to replace and handle his work. We emailed our lawyer same day and forwarded the emails sent by the embassy and ABH. He wrote them and was told the approval I got had expired and he also sent an email to ABH asking them to treat as urgent. Urgent efforts were made for an approval to be sent. My spouse wasn’t asked for any document or informed of the approval when it was finally sent. 8.Email to send passport, travel date and travel insurance 15th August 2023 9.I sent documents on 17th August 2023 from Uyo via Dhl and it was delivered on August 21st , 2023 to the embassy. 10.Passport received with visa August 28th , 2023 via Fedex to Uyo
Key Takeaways: **learned patience, importance of privacy and how to pray more. ** persistent communication through calls and emails is crucial, even if responses aren’t immediate.Someone is seeing your emails. ** Advisable to complete A1 requirements closer to the appointment to avoid expiration before visa completion. **Lastly we all might be applying for FRV but our cases/situations /Cities/application officers are different.
‘’PS’’: The lawyer asked for old pictures of me in secondary school and in family events when he came. Asked my parent about me;previous marriages if any, children if any, my educational level, how I told them about my spouse etc… Congratulations 🎉 |

baggylips: Hi all, Please, the embassy acknowledged the receipt of our remonstration letter since the 15th of May but till now, we have not gotten any feedback from them on the status of this appeal. Although they instructed us not to contact them, three months is already too long a wait therefore I plan to contact them immediately . Please what is the best way to go about this?
N.B: the visa was denied on the grounds that the marriage happened after the issuance of student residence permit to the applicant's spouse I think you should contact them via email 📨, don't stop till you know your status |

UCEKE: Good evening,
Below is my update.
I applied to the Family reunification visa in Nov, 2021.
I received Appointment mail in Dec 2022
Had my interview on the 11th of Jan, 2023.
During the interview I was asked to pay for verification(150,000), which i paid.
I didn’t receive any message from the Embassy but in March 2023, KVR sent a message via post to my spouse requesting for some documents which include 12months house contract, Work permit, payslip, some documents from my spouse place of work and legalized marriage certificate.
We submitted the document on the 15th of March, 2023 and we didn’t hear anything from both KVR and the embassy.
In June 2023, KVR sent a mail to my spouse stating that we are yet to submit the document they requested for and asked us to send it via mail even though we had previously sent it via post but they couldn’t find it.
On the 25th of June, 2023, we sent all the documents via mail and we didn’t hear from them.
I called the embassy to follow up the issue and they told my the i should wait for my lawyer that they assigned a lawyer to me while my spouse kept calling KVR but we couldn’t reach them.
In July 2023 we received another from KVR stating that the legalized marriage certificate we sent was not what they wanted and we should send a legalized marriage certificate.
We became confused because we had our marriage at the federal registry. So because of the request they sent in March, 2023, I took the color photocopy of our marriage certificate to Ministry of Foreign Affairs to legalize it and also took it to a notary public lawyer to notarize it and I then sent it to my spouse but KVR rejected it.
When we received their mail in July 2023, the requested we send the legalized document according to German standard before 1st of August or our Visa will be rejected.
I called and sent a mail to the German embassy in Nigeria and the respond stating that I should tell the KVR that such condition is not applicable to us and that I have paid for verification fee but because we didn’t want to take chances, we contacted an immigration lawyer.
So in July 2023, we reached out to an immigration lawyer and narrated our issue after paying him. We shared all the documents we submitted and also the mail response I received from the Embassy. So he sent a power of Attorney for me to sign and he took over the matter. He contacted KVR and the Embassy in Nigeria. But before then we had already sent the mail from the embassy to KVR with our August house rent.
Note: During this period my language certificate have expired and I had to rewrite in July in case they request for it because I was told during the interview that if it expires, that I will need a valid one before they will stamp my visa. So I had to rewrite it and I passed.
Also, because they KVR insisted that the house contract must be a 12month contract, we had to rent another house to take care of that.
On the 3rd of August, 2023, I received requesting for my spouse resident permit and my lawyer was copied.
I respond on the 4th of August 2023 to their request.
On the 8th of August, I received a mail requesting for my passport, insurance and travel date. Then they also stated that I should come and collect the 150,000 that I paid. Note: my spouse if not a Daad scholar neither did we submit a blue card. They also copied my lawyer.
My lawyer sent a mail to the embassy on the 9th of August, 2023 stating that am not in Lagos and it will be expensive for me to come and collect the 150,000 and demanded that a third party should collect it. Then he attached a power of attorney which the third party will come with to collect the money. The embassy replied and agreed for a third party to come and pick the money upon presentation of an ID with the letter.
I submitted it to DHL of the 9th of August, 2023 and it was delivered to them on the 10th of August, 2023.
On the 15th of August 2023, my cousin went and collected the money on my behalf after presenting the power of Attorney and his ID.
On the 16th of August 2023 by 4:30pm, I received a call from Fedex that I have a package from the German Embassy and it was delivered to my door step.
This is a summery of my Journey.
It was not an easy Journey but am glad it is over.
All road lead to Munich Congratulations 🎉 I'm next in line for a miracle,. But I have a question? Why do you think your process was very short towards the ending?? And why was their no lawyers visitation and verification for you?? I don't get it?? |

GraceIsaac09: **** Visa approval Update *****
Good day wonderful people of this forum. My FRV update is finally here and I’m sharing to give insight and hope to someone else.
27th August, 2021: Application for FRV
*2022* 5th July - Goethe A1 exam
23rd September - E-Mail confirmation of appointment.
17th October - Visa appointment & interview - all documents confirmed to be okay.
No update, no lawyer, nothing.
*2023*
19th February - My husband sent an email to BVA (Bundesverwaltungsamt) and ABH to find out application status.
22nd February - Called the Embassy and the lady I spoke with confirmed my application was in processing and my husband should get in touch with the ABH in his city.
28th February - Got a response from BVA that my application/documents were in the ABH but the current status of the application could not be confirmed. Only the location of the application was confirmed.
3rd April - My husband sent another email to ABH requesting an update.
11th April - Got a response from ABH that the application was with them, was being reviewed and to be patient.
1st May - Lawyer's verification.
12th June - “Verification completed” email received.
13th June - ABH emailed my husband to send his documents (payslips, employment certificate, employment & housing contracts, proof of payment of rent, health insurance and proof of pension insurance).
28th June - My husband submitted requested documents (via email).
30th June - ABH visa approval received via email.
9th July - Sent an email to German Embassy & ABH forwarding the visa approval email from the ABH; both of us sent separate emails to the Embassy while my husband alone sent to ABH (the email was in German). I also filled the contact form on the Embassy website. We spammed them as we were already tired of waiting at this point.😅
12th July - Approval email from Embassy requesting for my passport, travel date and travel insurance.
13th July - Submission of passport and travel insurance (got there before 7am but was told submission doesn’t start till 11; had to wait)
19th July - DHL delivered stamped passport
*Key lessons* * Prayer and patience are very important. This one is self explanatory.
* BE HONEST - both you and your spouse. E get why. Every single document I submitted and claim i made about my identity was verified - from birth, baptism, marriage, education to work. Like someone else has mentioned on this platform, “they will juxtapose your interview with the forms you submit”.
* If you’ll be needing the German A1 language certificate, try to take the exam as close to your estimated appointment date as possible (the wait time is currently about 14 months after your application date. Note that Goethe Institut closes for summer break throughout August) This tip is in case this 1 year plus wait time continues; to avoid taking the exam again as the embassy typically requests certificate not older than 1 year.
* If you’re not sure what a document is/how to fill in some information please just ask on the thread.
* Additionally, always filter information before applying it to your situation.
* Everyone’s case/situation/visa type/application officer(s) is different…using timelines shared on this platform to try to plan how much time yours will take will likely only cause you anxiety.
* Live your life. I know it’ll be hard to, but please apply yourself to your job/trade/engage in activities and hobbies and learning transferrable skills for when you finally get to Germany.
Praying for everyone else in the waiting period…may we be reading your good news soon.🙏🏾 Congratulations 🎉👏, I Tap from your grace, I'm next in line for the same miracle |

Evachi: Hello everyone. Please I have a question. How long/ sure is it for a family reunion visa Remonstration to be approved? It's been 5 months since we applied for a Remonstration at the German Consulate following a rejection letter. They have acknowledged the receipt of the Remonstration letter but since then we haven't heard anything from them or ABH. Is it wise to send emails or contact the Consulate or ABH? Please, a good advice will be appreciated. Not sure how long, but I think you should send them an email, and what was the reason for the visa denial |

Oracle12: Heyo!
Giving back. Here is our timeline.
I have the EU Blue Card and reside in Berlin.
Booked for re-union visa appointment 23/03/2022
Wife got an email from the embassy on 24/04/2023 for appointment on 16/05/2023 (verification fee was not asked, although she was with it, she did not bother to ask since we were even praying for that long process to be skipped….lol) Received a letter from ABH on 15/06/2023, dated 9/06/2023 asking to submit documents (verification was indeed skipped)
I submitted the documents on 03/07/2023. I got a response from ABH on 10/07/2023 that my wife's visa has been approved and it is now on Lagos to issue the visa.
12/07/2023, she got an email to submit her passport, travel health insurance and travel date. We submitted all same day and she got her passport with visa stamped on 19/07/2023.
I hope it helps and gives someone hope. Congratulations 🎉👏 I'm next in line |

I applied for family reunion visa February 2022 Appointment date April 2023/ done with my appointment Still waiting for the lawyer call *** I have a question ❓ ***** I'm married to a full German citizen, white lady, she is currently on parental leave away from job, the state/ job center pays her every month, my question is this going to affect my visa application chances❓ sometimes last year we reached out to a lawyer in Germany with the same question and he told us that since my wife is a full German citizen their is no need to prove maintenance security since she is a German, we also did our research online, we got the same response. Please house has anyone had the same experience or knowledge on this ? Please reach out thanks so much |
