THE IGBOS AND THE YORUBA 'COLD WAR'; A CASE FOR SOUTHERN UNITY.

By Charles Ogbu.

"Power is like a shadow. It resides exactly where men who are under its control think it resides"

The above is true with regards to the situation of Southerners in the Nigerian experiment.

We think the Fulanis are the ones that have been holding power and because we think and believe so, it actually look so. Because of this assumed knowledge, we hand over our destinies, our future and those of our children to a people who are not above 11 million, have little or no education and contribute little or nothing to the national pulse.

What if I told you that the real power rests in the South and with southerners but that the mutual distrust and foolish superiority contest between Igbos and Yorubas is the biggest obstacle to wielding this power? This senseless feud between these two Southern giants is also the biggest enabler and promoter of the fulani Oligarchy.

The southern part of Nigeria owns the oil which feeds the entire country. Without the oil today, there is no economy and there is no Nigeria. The same south controls the commercial sector of the economy. The media is still owned and controlled by the South.

When a people owns the only thing that is feeding a whole country and still control commerce plus the media through which people's thoughts and opinions about anything can be shaped and can equally boast of the best human resources, what else does it take for such a people to wield power in such a country?

Unity!

The few fulanis who have been running this country directly and indirectly since independence, what do they have?

Unity!

When the fulani Oligarchs want to achieve an aim, they effortlessly find a way to get every northern minorities such as Christians and middle Belts on their side even when they almost always end up discarding these same minorities and even killing them once the aim is achieved.

Now, ask yourself: how have the fulani Oligarchs managed to turn the entire Nigeria into an 'Animal Farm' with them as the only "Napoleon' despite their low education and the fact that all the prerequisites/bargaining chips for acquiring and wielding power are domiciled in the South??

Igbo-Yoruba 'cold war'! This, right here, is the answer.

The day the two biggest southern ethnic groups --The Igbos and The Yorubas --decide to put a stop to their needless bickering and channel all their energy towards confronting their common enemy --the children of Danfodio--, that is the day the Fulani Oligarchs will understand that even though the king is the one with the crown, he is nothing without the kingmakers and the people.

The Fulanis are not runing Nigeria because they are smarter than others. Far from it. They are messing with the destinies of over 180million people because the two Southern big brothers with the wherewithal to end their murderous reign of impunity are busy chasing rats while their houses are afire.

I am no historian neither do I pride myself as a man of letters but I know for a fact that the biggest weapon of the fulanis is neither guns nor bombs. Their biggest weapon is their ability to identify their opponents' weak points or even create one where none exists, magnify it and use same to create division amongst them just so they would effortlessly implement their Divide And Rule tactics.

Sadly, they have succeded in using this weapon against Southern Nigeria's two biggest ethnic groups.

Throughout history, all the wars and woes visited on both the Igbos and the Yorubas all came from the fulanis. There is no record of ethnic clash between these two humane southern Nations.

No time has these two people ever disagreed violently.

Strangely, the mutual suspicion that exist between these two great peoples seem far greater than the one they harbour against their common oppressor, the Scions of Danfodio.

It was not the Igbos who imprisoned Awolowo and killed thousands of Yoruba youths who protested the unjust imprisonment for days in different Yoruba cities in 1963. It was the fulanis and the killing was done by another fulani man, Muhammadu Buhari, who was the then platoon commander, 2nd infantry brigade, Abeokuta. That same year, Buhari was gifted with double promotion on the same day by the govt of Tafawa Balewa.

It was not the Igbos who imprisoned many Yoruba leaders, forced others into exile and killed others like Abiola after annuling his presidential victory.

It was not the Igbos who attacked Yoruba citizens in Lagos neither was it the Igbos who desecrated Yoruba cradle of civilisation, Ile-Ife by cutting off the head of a Yoruba citizen and parading it along the street, thereby sparking off a bloody ethnic clash that ended in the arrest of only the Yorubas including an Oba by the fulani president and his fulani security agents.

It is not Igbo herdsmen that kidnapped a yoruba son, Chief Olu Falae and have been going about terrorizing and killing Yorubas in Osun, Ogun, Kwara etc with govt-sponsored impunity.

On the other hand,

It wasn't the Yorubas that killed thousands of Igbos in the 1945 Jos pogrom and 1953 kano pogrom.

It was not the Yorubas who slaughtered millions of Igbos in the North after the first 1966 coup.

It was not the Yorubas who jailed an Igbo son, Alex Ekwueme who was only the vice president while the president, Shehu Shagari, a fulani, was left in a cosy apartment in the govt house. It was a Fulani man, Muhammadu Buhari who did this in 1984 after overthrowing the then govt in a coup.

Was it the Yorubas that is holding Nnamdi Kanu? Or was it the Yorubas who rained bullets and acid on hundreds of Igbo sons and daughters praying inside a school field in Abia state on Feb.9th, 2016 and those remembering their Biafran heros inside a church in Onitsha on May 29-30, that same year?

Is it Yoruba herdsmen that have been killing, maiming and raping villagers in Nimbo, Nsukka, Awgu Bende Council etc, all in Igbo land?

Today, even Jack, my two day old puppy knows that Nigeria CANNOT work as presently constituted. It was the rejection of the Aburi Accord by the Fulani Oligarchs which would have restructured Nigeria as a Confederation that led to the Biafran war. Today, the Yorubas want a restructured country. The Niger Delta want the same thing. The Igbos want Biafra BECAUSE Nigeria has refused to restructure.

Who are the only people resisting the call for restructuring, thereby holding everyone to ransom? Your guess is as good as mine.

Dear Yorubas and Igbos, what exactly are you dragging?

Why have you refused to realise that you have a common enemy, a very ruthless common enemy who have kept you busy fighting among yourselves while he's busy ruining your future and that of your unborn generation?

Can you not see that your siblings; Ijaws, Urhobo, Edo, etc are all looking up to you for that 'big brother' leadership and direction?

Can't you see that the fulanis are not really the problem? You are! Your disunity is!

You have no reason to be fighting.

Was it not a Yoruba man, Lt. Col Fajuyi, who chose to die with his visitor and commander-in-Chief, Thomas Umunnakwe Aguyi-Ironsi, an Igbo man, rather than give him up to the Hausa/fulani soldiers on 28th July, 1966?

Was it not an Igbo man, Odumegwu Ojukwu, who released Obafemi Awolowo from calabar prison and sent a squad of Eastern Nigerian policemen who escorted him to Ikenne, Ijebu, his home town?

You pride yourselves as the two most educated people in the country, yet your best brains have been reduced to playing 2nd fiddle to the Scions of Danfodio who are mostly without even a secondary school certificate.

In 1979, it was one of the best Igbo brains, Alex Ekwueme, playing 2nd fiddle to Shehu Shagari.
In 1983/84, it was Idiagbo playing 2nd fiddle to a Buhari who had no certificate.
In 2015, it is a Yoruba professor of law still in political purgatory under the same fulani-born Muhammadu Buhari who has now acquired a certificate........NEPA bill certificate.

Ojukwu is dead. So is Awolowo. And since I was born, Igbos and Yorubas have never killed each other. How about we put the gory stories of the war behind us and save ourselves and unborn children from this danger that is staring us in the face?

It is always the descendants of Danfodio doing all the killing, all the subjugation and slavery and we, the entire south have always been the victim.

In a nutshell, Charles Ogbu is simply saying that the Igbos and the Yorubas should channel their energy towards confronting their common enemy. You can join forces to fight a formidable enemy and still remain ethnically patriotic to your respective ethnic groups!

Wisdom is profitable to direct.

Charles Ogbu

I have a friend who's mom has been running a bar for over 25 years and now the dude is in his late 20's and doesn't want to work for anyone, he wants to take over the business from his mom since she has come of age. Well I was the one who advised him to consider running the business since I have observed his mum wasn't utilising the bar optimally, I mean the bar has been the same all these years no growth or decline just stagnant with depreciating infrastructures and taking a look at her daily sales record the bar makes up to 25k per day after deduction of cost/expenses and weekends the bar rakes in as much as 45k after deduction of cost/expenses. The lowest the bar ever makes is 10k daily which is only on weekdays and rarely.

So my friend approached me and proposed a merger which i consented to since I had access to loan facility at my place of work. So he wanted me to get a loan of 500k but to be on the safe side I scaled the figure down to only 200k.

Now we are at a fix, i am of the opinion that the 200k should be spent on drinks and 5k deducted daily to enable us to pay back the loan in the shortest possible time, but he is of the opinion that out of the 200k we spend at least half of it on getting an extra t.v and DStv to boost sales since the belief is that if we can offer the service of match viewing center it could double our ROI, this being undoubtedly true but I didn't buy the idea of spending the 200k on anything besides drinks, My main aim is to pay back the loan as soon as possible, although on paper I have at least 10months to pay up the loan but looking at the amount the bar rakes in on a daily basis I am of the opinion the loan can be paid in less than 5months if we can pay 5k every day. So basically I want us to focus on paying up the loan before we start adding other little necessities, since the bar has stayed afloat with the only tv that is there, why cant we be patient and offset the loan before we start making additions.

The basic product that brings people there is the beer, the tv is secondary but notwithstanding my view, my friend still insists on getting the DStv and extra plasma tv. Well, I told him to go ahead but on the condition that he does that from his personal money and not from the 200k loan which he consented to but we agreed that once the loan has been paid up, the business will refund him the money he spent on the tv and DStv. I am also of the opinion that we pay ourselves salary monthly and if on the long run we can't keep up with that then it means the business cant sustain us then we would either have to downsize or reduce our salaries. He is of the opinion we don't pay ourselves for a few months as a means of sacrifice at least until we are stable but the dissented because I am operating under the assumption that we both didn't have any extra source of income but depended on the bar only.

Y'all should note that the mom doesn't know I am in the picture. I and my friend decided this because according to him his mom would get skeptical and may not want to secede the bar to him if she discovered he plans running the bar with an outsider since I am not a family member.

Well, to cut the long story short I need advice on how to make this work.

The plan is to value the current stock of drinks in the bar and pay the mom off then commence trading with the initial stock or to trade with the initial stock then start spending the 200k when the stock is getting exhausted and there is a need to replenish. We are still trying to decide on which to follow. But my fear is I don't want a situation where the mom wakes up one day and decides to take over the bar. This fear is part of what informed my suggestion of paying 5k every day to offset the loan quick.

Note: The loan will be deducted from my salary every month, I just need to make sure as money is leaving my account it is entering back in until the loan is paid in full.

Basically, we want to propose to the mom to let him[us] manage the bar for 5 months just to test the waters and since it is our first time of undertaking such a project I want to eliminate the avoidable risk and loss and make this as seamless as possible.

Beyond doubt the business is viable, I need to get over the fear that once my money goes in the mom won't change her mind, I want to draft a legal agreement with my friend and I also need a way to commit his mom also without her knowing I am in the picture. My friend says we won't have a p with his mom so there won't be a need for a legal agreement between him and his mom. But for me, I am just thinking 'What if' and I don't want to have a fall out with him in future, I mean I have seen what money can do to relationships and I am trying to avoid that.

SO PLEASE PALS, I NEED ADVICE/IDEAS. Lawyers, Business guru's etc help a brother out.

TravelThe International Passport And What It Says About You by Ricovendetta(op): 10:06am On May 11, 2016
So it turns out, passport colours are most often related to geography and policy. Though the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) issues guidelines on requisite size and format, governments have the prerogative to decide the design and colour of their national passport so long as it is derived from either the red, green, blue or black colours.

Blue: The U.S.A passport today is blue, but has only been that way since 1976, when it was changed from green for the bicentennial celebration to match the shade in the American flag. (Between 1993-1994 a special green passport was issued for the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Consular Service, but the passport has been blue since 1994.) Member states of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) also have blue passports perhaps owing to their geographical locations in the middle of oceans. and some south American block of countries (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela) all have blue passports to rep their affiliation with Mercosur, a customs union.

Green: For some countries, the choice of colour sometimes could correlate to a predominant religion. Islamic nations like Morocco, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia have green passports, which is connected to Islam: Green is considered to have been a favourite colour of the Prophet Muhammad, who is said to have worn a green cloak and turban. Green is also on the national flags of Islamic republic’s like Iran, Mauritania, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Many African nations (Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, etc.) also have passports in shades of green, mostly due to their distinction as members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Black: Black passports are the most uncommon of the pack. Some African nations typically have black passports (Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Biafra, Botswana, Burundi, Gabon, Angola, Malawi), as do countries where black plays a significant role. New Zealand’s passport is black, most likely due to the connection with black as its national colour. If you’ve ever seen a carrier of a black U.S. passport such persons usually have diplomatic immunity status. i.e. airport personnel may not search, delay, detain, or arrest them.

Red: Hrant Boghossian, the vice president of Arton Group, which runs the interactive passport database Passport Index, told The Telegraph that red passports could hint at a communist past—or present: Slovenia, China, Serbia, Latvia, Romania, Poland, Georgia all have red passports. Many of the Nordic countries have red passports, too, given that red was a popular color during the Viking Age and can be found on many of the national flags. Passport books for countries within the European Union are also a shade of burgundy. In what The Economist called a “branding exercise,” Turkey, Macedonia, and Albania all changed their passport shades to burgundy in order to match their EU aspirations

I AM A CANCER SURVIVOR BY GOD’S GRACE THANK GOD FOR BELL LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS.

DR. REMIGIUS NKEM ASHUKE (Medical Practitioner) LAGOS, NIGERIA

It all started about February 2012 and the first symptoms I started experiencing were non-productive cough and chest pain. I consulted with consultant physicians and ENT surgeons at different hospitals and I was subjected to diverse laboratory investigations, all to no avail. I took several X-rays of the chest and did CT scan of both the chest and the neck. TB tests (acid fast bacill and gene expert), echocardiogram, FNAC (fine needle aspirate cytology) and so on, without anyone being able to make any impression that could suggest what was wrong with me. The cancer had already metastasized to other parts of my body while those investigations were being done.
On 20th June 2013, I was rushed to LASUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) medical emergency on account of severe breathlessness at abot 7am. I was given emergency medications to relieve the breathlessness and from my arrival here, I began to make use of artificial oxygen which I was on for one full month, while I was being investigated by different medical teams. Within that period, I was placed on anti-TB drugs following a mentuex test that was carried out on me, which came out positive within durations of 16 minutes.
It was when I was taken to theatre for bronchoscopy and mediasthnoscopy that the cardio-thoracid team discovered the massive metastatic tumor that had obstructed my trachea at the lower third of the trachea. I was then referred to EKO hospital Ikeja for radiotherapy, I had seven courses of radiotherapy at the hospital and I had six courses of chemotherapy at LASUTH. There was a time my platelet count dropped to one (1) and I was losing blood through my nostrils, mouth and I was urinating frank red blood. It was while I was receiving chemotherapy that a doctor friend of mine (Dr. Emmanuel Nsofor) brought Bell Supreme Immune Booster and Japanese Green Tea to me and I began to use them. It was from that moment that I stopped breaking down after every course of chemotherapy and I began to feel strong within in spite of my wasted exterior.
Having realized the efficacy of Bell Products, I started using Curcumin 2000X as well.

Apart from strengthening my immunity and helping me to recover from CANCER OF THE LUNGS. I have not been sick since one year ago that I started using the products inspite of the fact that I used to suffer so often from malaria before my contact with Bell Products. I sincerely thank God Who made it possible for DR THEO ANUCHA MD/CEO of Bell Lifestyle to bring the products to Nigeria.

TravelTravel Tips For First Time Flyers by Ricovendetta(op): 4:51pm On Apr 08, 2016
As first time flyers people will most likely contend with loads of anxiety, while some may have phobia’s associated with flying, others may harbour some reservations pertaining to this mode of transportation, for the record flying is the safest mode of transport in the world, nevertheless this article briefly outlines a few tips to aid first time flyers get along just fine. So in the absence of any further lamentation, shall we proceed

We’ll first address the issue of seats and associated issues, because as a first time flyer you may want to feed your eyes with the amazing aerial view.

Seats: As a first time flyer getting a seat next to the window is advisable cause the scenery from such altitude is quite a sight to behold, plus compared to passengers on the aisle seat you don’t get that frequent slight brush from flight attendants passing by. In case you aren’t lucky say perhaps all seats next to the window have been booked before you attempted to, there are occasions where the aircraft you board takes off without being filled, such instances will present you with empty seats around, when you are fortunate to find such an opportunity you are free to change your sitting position to any vacant seat close to the window but you can only do these once your flight takes off. Also for courtesy sake you should seek the flight attendants consent before you switch seats although it’s really not much of a big deal but I do recommend it.

You may find here helpful for seat hacks.

Next we’ll talk a little about packing i.e. what to and what not to pack this is one of the most important things you need to know as a first time flyer because airports and airline operators are quite if not very sensitive to this facet of the industry owing to security reasons.

Packing: It’s best to check with the airports/airline you’ll be in, to find out what is or isn’t tolerated. However, for detailed information’s on stuffs you are allowed and not allowed to pack you can visit here but for the sake of this article shall we continue?

Hand luggage rule: For carry-on or Hand baggage’s one item of hand luggage on board the aircraft not exceeding 56cm x 45cm x 25cms is the normal standard.

For folks who love to have their belongings within reach, the seat right before you isn’t spacious, so the hand baggage size should fit in if it conforms with the regular standard. There’s also an overhead space for your carry-on’s, but passengers are quick to occupy it with luggage and personal belongings.

tips: Pack small items like toiletries, in something transparent enough for security to see through. That could save both parties time spent on searching and waiting.

Hold Baggage: Hold baggage are larger than Hand baggage’s usually too big to carry on board. These are kept safe in the luggage compartment of the aircraft, so you don’t get to see them again until you touch down at your destination. There is usually a weight limit which varies depending on the airliner so you are advised to adhere to the required weight limit cause once it is exceeded you are charged separately for that. So just to be sure you should weigh your luggage before getting to the airport to avoid extra expenses.

The third is centred on your flight ticket, sort of like a gate pass, we just want to give you a heads up on informations and data’s you’ll need to look out for on your flight ticket amongst other relevant points.

Flight Tickets: Tickets or itinerary will detail all your flight information such as:

The airports you are flying between, Your flight number, departure & arrival time, Your baggage allowance, the check-in time.

This differs from airline to airline, and it is important to keep to the various time schedules as it affords you enough time to check-in your luggage and proceed to the plane.

N.B: In some cases, depending on the airline you may not be issued with a ticket – you may just get a confirmation number.

Note: Arrive at the airport at least an hour or two early for your first time travelling on an airplane, this allows you extra time to make it through the airport and familiarize yourself with the process.

Check your flight schedule regularly before you’re scheduled to leave for the airport. Just to be sure the time hasn’t been changed because such happens owing to weather changes or mechanical issues. So this could save you time wasted in waiting.

Checking in Tips

If you are travelling within your home country, you will need a photo identification, such as a driver’s license. If you are flying internationally, you will need an international passport, usually one that is valid for six months from the date of departure.

The first place you should report to upon your arrival at the terminal is to check-in at the designated check-in desks. Your flight number should be displayed on a digital screen, so you should look out for that and ensure it tally’s with what you have on your flight ticket.

The check-in agent at this point will print your boarding card/pass and ask you a few security questions – at this point you should get your tickets and passport ready. Your luggage will be weighed and tagged with your flight details, Or alternatively you can also check-in by using one of the self-service kiosks. This is quick and easy to do, avoiding lengthy queues.

Once you check-in, display screens will alert you on when you can report to the departure lounge. To gain entrance to the departures lounge, you will need to tender your boarding card/pass via Security Control same place your hand luggage will be screened. At this point you may be entitled to tax Free shopping, once you pass through Security Control.

Gate and Boarding Screens throughout the airport will display the gate number at which you need to board your plane. Look out for direction signs to show you how to get there . When you reach the gate, there will be a lounge area where you can wait until you’re called for boarding. Airline attendants will call you forward; here you’ll tender your boarding card and enter the plane.

As you walk in a cabin crew member will welcome you aboard, cross check the rest of your boarding card and show you to your seat ready for take-off.

Arrival tips

Once you touch down at your destination airport before you exit the plane you will show your passport to security officials and then head to baggage reclaim to pick up the luggage that was previously checked in. Digital display monitors in the airport will show your flight number right above the carousel that your luggage will be on. After you have retrieved your luggage you will head through customs and out into the arrival lounge.

Security screening tips

Wear shoes you can easily slip on and off, because you will have to take them off to go through security.

Take any coats, jewelries, belts, cellphones off while you wait in line. TSA agents will ask you to take these off before you walk through the metal detector, so you might as well save the people behind you some time.

Keep your ID and ticket easily accessible. This will make going through any additional security hassle free for you.

Other tips

Endeavour to spot your terminal before you go searching for where to buy food and drinks.

Endeavour to charge your various gadgets at home before you get on the plane because you will need them to keep you company on a long flight.

If you think you may feel sick during the flight, try chewing mint-flavoured gum. Gum also helps with you ears clogging.

If you want to hear a movie on the plane, bring headphones, or you’ll have to buy one there.

We hope you find/found this write up useful. Safe journey pals, see you around.
